NEW RELEASE: Nash by J Crownover
Nash by Jay Crownover
“Your hair is awesome and wild, I love that shit … and your eyes. Fuck me, but your eye could inspire men to go to war, to paint works of art, to rip their goddamn heart out of their chet an offer it to you without a second thought.. then and now.”
There was some kind of current dragging and pulling between us that I didn’t trust, didn’t particularly like, but it was strong, and fighting its momentum was wearing me out, wearing me down. I actually wanted to spend time with him.
I resigned myself to the fact that whatever symphony of self-destruction I had created had played its last note. Since I was the composer, I had nowhere else to lay the blame.

The latest in Jay Crownover’s Marked Men series brings us the story of Nash and Saint. The couple knew each other back in high school, but those interactions left some scars on Saint’s heart. Years later, when Nash and Saint cross paths the chemistry is palpable; but Saint is un-trusting of the new Nash. Fans do the series will enjoy catching up with the whole Marked Men family and meeting some new, intriguing characters.
Jay loves to write her men tortured and with traumatic pasts, and this latest addition to her Marked series is no different. Nash had an unloving childhood until he went to live with his uncle, and from there was raised to be the man he is now. He was a hellion in school, getting arrested for graffiti, but his uncle taught him to use his gift of art in legal ways, by tattooing people, and also learn to run a tattoo parlor with his best friend, Rule, from book one. We met Saint in the previous book, and she also had issues with a childhood of bullying that had left deep scars. It was hard watching Saint push back against a relationship with Nash because she just couldn’t see herself as beautiful or worthy.
We do see everyone from the past three books, and there is some mild spoilers, but overall this is a great addition to the series. Watching Nash not only overcome everything going on his life, but also breaking down Saint’s barriers, with some heart wrenching scenes that made me tear up, it all made them a highlight of the book. Plus, Jay gives us some insight into who the next couple is that will be falling in love, and I can’t wait for that ride.
