What’s the schedule of events? And where are the events?
Because of the current construction project at the hotel, some locations may have to be moved last minute. Signs at the conference center and hotel will confirm where events are held.

Can I upgrade my ticket?
Unless you can find someone who is selling their VIP ticket (check the Attendees Facebook Group), upgrades are no longer available. We sold out of VIP passes quickly, so keep it in mind when we put SBC17 tickets on sale!
Am I required to go to pre-registration on Friday?
Nope! You can pick up your ticket and goodie bag on Saturday morning before the signing.
Can I pick up my ticket if I don’t have my receipt?
Sure! You can pull up your registration on your phone in Eventbrite.
If you didn’t place your ticket order yourself or if you placed a ticket order for someone else, go to this form and let us know who will be using the additional ticket.
If your name is not on a ticket at registration, you will have to have the person who purchased the tickets with you at registration.
When should I line up to enter the signing?
We can’t give you a specific time you’ll need to line up for entry, but from past signings we’ve been to, you might want to get there earlier rather than later. The area next to the event space is covered, and mornings in October aren’t horribly hot, so you should be comfortable waiting.
How many books can I bring into the signing?

How many books can I have an author sign at once?
We ask that you keep the number of books for an author to sign at a minimum if there are people behind you in line. Read more details here.
What’s a Fast Pass? What’s a Golden Ticket?
Fast Passes are like reservations or appointments to get to meet an author. You’re not jumping in front of everyone in line; you’re getting to wait in a MUCH shorter, Fast Pass-only line. Fast Pass registration is currently closed but you may cancel or transfer your own Fast Passes at any time.

Golden Tickets are a combination of a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket meshed with a Disney World FastPass soaked in a bucket of shameless book love. Golden Tickets are not available for purchase, only available through our giveaways.
Golden Tickets will be issued to winners upon registration.
Will there be Wi-Fi at the signing?
Wi-fi access is not available for attendees inside of the Universal Center.
Do I really need a ticket for the Sparkler Saturday evening?
Yes, you really do. Registration was open for the free Shameless Sparkler by 1001 Dark Nights event for several months before we had to close registration. We anticipate being able to open the event to non-ticketholders around 30 minutes into the event. We will update our Facebook and Twitter feeds with information if we are able to allow more attendees into the event. You may also wait in a standby line at the event.
What’s the dress code for the weekend?
Pretty much everything is dress how you want. Here are some details:
VIP Cocktail Party – Outside at the Poolside Terrace, though not at the pool. Dress nice-casual for Florida weather: humid and warm. We can hope for a breeze since it is October! Check the weather before you pack; the forecast can change daily.
Author Signing – Whatever you’re most comfortable walking around in for hours on end. Comfortable shoes highly recommended.
Shameless Sparkler – See: VIP Cocktail Party
Costume Ball After Party – Theme: Be Shameless. Be You. Costumes are recommended, though not required. Prizes will be awarded to the best of the best.
UnHoly Day with Tiffany Reisz – Casual is great. You’ll be sitting most of the time.
How can I ship all my new loot home?
UPS will be on-site in the same room as the Books-A-Million pop-up shop from 5pm-9pm on Saturday night. They will have boxes and scales.
Around the Hotel
Where are good places to eat around the DoubleTree within walking distance?
Orlando Ale House (American bar & grill) and Kobe Steakhouse (Hibachi) are in the same parking lot as the event hotel. TGIFriday’s is just across the street in the Holiday Inn parking lot. Carrabba’s Italian Grill is about a 7 minute walk behind Ale House and Kobe, just across the street.
There is a restaurant and a café located inside the hotel, but with construction going on, we’re unsure of their hours and what will be available.
Where can I park?
Parking is available at the hotel for a discounted rate. Payment for parking is next to the entrance of the hotel.
$10/night – Overnight; self-parking DoubleTree guests (includes in/out privileges)
$8/day – Day rate for self-parking event attendees (no in/out privileges)
$8/day – Day rate for self-parking Holiday Inn guests booked in our overflow block (includes in/out privileges); guests will pick up a special key card for parking lot gate at DoubleTree Bell Services desk (must show Holiday Inn room key; room key and name will be validated to be in the room block)
