Why Do We Like This Book?

Adrian Recommends
I've fallen in love with another Maddox Brother. No Maddox will ever replace Travis as my #1, but Taylor is a close second. This book is pretty angsty, but not annoyingly so....the angst works with the story. There are a lot of secrets, and I thought I had it figured out but was so wrong. I love that! I like how each book in the series takes place in pretty much the same timeframe, it keeps the storyline going. I love Taylor and Falyn's banter while they were "just friends." Best yet! [June 2015]

“You’re so fucking mean.  It’s disturbing that I like it so much.”
Bagged her? What does that even mean?” I asked, already wishing I hadn’t.
“Intimate relations.  Intercourse.  Coitus.  Doing the deed.  Nookie.  Fornicating.  Laying pipe.  Screwing.  Sex.  Tapping that ass.  Fucking.  Need I go on?”
“Please don’t.”
“This phone buzzes every time you text me, and I’m lying here, naked, in bed,” I said, hearing my words slur.  “I have this urge to put it between my legs and hope you text me again.”

Publisher Synopsis

Falyn Fairchild can walk away from anything. Already leaving behind her car, her education, and even her parents, the daughter of the next governor of Colorado is back in her hometown, broke and waiting tables for the Bucksaw Café. After every shift, Falyn adds to her shoebox of cash, hoping to one day save enough to buy her a plane ticket to the only place she can find forgiveness: Eakins, Illinois.
The moment Taylor Maddox is seated in Falyn’s section at the Bucksaw, she knows he’s trouble. Taylor is charming, breaks promises, and gorgeous even when covered in filth—making him everything Falyn believes a hotshot firefighter to be. Falyn isn’t interested in becoming another statistic, and for a Maddox boy, a disinterested girl is the ultimate challenge.

Once Falyn learns where Taylor calls home, everything changes. In the end, Maddox persistence is met with Falyn’s talent for leaving, and for the first time, Taylor may be the one to get burned.

About The Author
Adrian Perkins

My romance novel obsession started when I was a kid reading my Mom’s Jackie Collins novels. I’m a romance junkie and I like my men to be alpha males and my ladies to be quirky and strong. I need the HEA but it’s OK if it takes 2 or 3 or 10 books to get there. Lee Nightingale is my forever BBF.

I’m a Part-time Realtor and full-time Mommy with a husband, 2 kids and 3 cats. I love to travel almost as much as I love to read.
