Why Do We Like This Book?

Marissa Not So PNR Mini Banner We pick up right where Ruined left off, and boy are the revelations damaging to Ethan and Chloe’s relationship. Tracy throws a couple of twists at you, and you are feeling the heartbreak right along with the characters. I like how she explains each character’s motivation when the twists occur, but also their thoughts during the groveling process. And it’s not just the man, or Ethan, in the wrong all the time. We also see plenty of the sweet, hot, sexy times between Ethan and Chloe to balance out the heartbreak, because there is definitely more angst in this book than the last one. Don’t worry, we get our HEA with an epilogue. (I love those!) Though, I do wish the “bad guys” in the series got more of a comeuppance than described during the secondary plot element.

He bites down hard on my lip at the same time he twists his thumb deep inside me.  The result is a cataclysm of ecstasy sweeping through me, lighting me up from the inside and turning my whole body inside out as Ethan slams me into the most intense orgasm of my life.
“You’re in my blood.  You’re in my heart, in my brain, in the very fabric of my soul.  You’re an addiction, one I’ll never get enough of.  I love you, Chloe Girard.  I love you more than you could ever possibly imagine.”
He brushes his lips over mine and this kiss, our first kiss in what seems like forever . . . it’s a tapestry.  A thousand stories and a thousand mistakes and a thousand glittering strands of light all threaded together to make something beautiful. To make something real.

Publisher Synopsis

Ethan Frost returns in the breathtaking conclusion to New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tracy Wolff’s seductive novel Ruined—perfect for fans of Release Me and Bared to You.
As Chloe Girard discovers, there’s love . . . and then there’s addiction.
Ethan Frost is everything a woman could want in a man. He’s rich, gorgeous, powerful, one of the most eligible bachelors in the world.
But that’s not why I’m with him.
I love Ethan for all the things no one else gets to see: his innate kindness, his reckless spontaneity, his unwavering determination to use his brilliance for good. I love the way he looks at me, the way he touches me. The way he makes me forget the wreckage of my past and the twisted fear that still lives inside me.
But sometimes it terrifies me how much I crave him, how much I need him just to breathe. I always thought it would be my past that ruined us, but there’s a darkness in Ethan I never dreamed existed. Can we survive as his secrets surface—threatening to unravel us both?

About The Author
My first foray into the Romance genre came my freshman year in high school English, where the teacher had us all read books from several different genres. So, my first book boyfriend and PnR introduction, if you will, was Richard Merlin, from The Wizard of Seattle. Prior to that, I’d only read Fantasy or Sci-fi, with a little teen horror thrown in for angst. I was reading The Vampire Diaries decades before it was even a twinkle in the eyes of the producers. Now, I am addicted to PnR, always reading at least one book a week about vamps, wolves, angels, demons, Fae, or overall magic.
