Debt Inheritance by Pepper Winters
First, I want to say that this book is not for everyone. Not because it's not worth reading, but because it has dubious consent in many sexual situations. That said, Debt Inheritance is a very interesting start to a story, one different from many I've read. And thank goodness this is fantasy because I would hate to think this kind of situation happened in real life. (I'm not as naive as to think situations like the one Nila goes through don't happen in some capacity; her story could be a catalyst for teaching us about human trafficking and how to end it.) Overall, I'm recommending Debt Inheritance for a mind-fuck story, and one that left me wanting to know more about Nila and how she overcomes her situation. [August 2014]
Yeah, this is some dark stuff. And I don't mean dark in just a twisty angsty way. I mean dark in a seriously effed up way. This is not (at this point) a twisted story that happens to have dubious consent in it; this is dubious consent that happens to have a story in it. If Jethro Hawk were a real man, I would punch him in his giant dick. I hate him, and he turns me on, and I hate myself a little bit for being turned on. That said… I totally wanna know what happens next. I usually don't toss out this heavy of a warning on a book, but I felt it necessary. [August 2014]

She is no longer free.
Jethro Hawk receives Nila as an inheritance present on his twenty-ninth birthday. Her life is his until she’s paid off a debt that’s centuries old. He can do what he likes with her—nothing is out of bounds—she has to obey.
