Why Do We Like This Book?

Marissa Recommends
Oh Nalini, you sure made the transition to contemporary so easily, I almost forgot it was your book.
I loved this story; all of the characters were so wonderfully written, I wasn't annoyed by any of them. Plus, even though there was drama several times, there was no "run off and ignore your hurt" type scenes written just to cause heartbreak or more drama. I loved that Molly and Fox both spoke to each other, with honesty, even though both had horrible things happen in their pasts that made them "love-shy." And Nalini had me on the edge waiting for the other shoe to drop and Molly leave Fox, and I think it made me love this story even more when you realize it's all going to work out without that added drama. Oh, and of course, sex between a rock star and his lady love? Off-the-charts hot. [September 2014]

His hand slid into her hair, his lips touched hers . . . and Molly felt herself fall, her shields crashing in splintered shards at her feet.
“I want to tempt you back into bed,” he said, “except I think you’ve worn out my cock.”  “Wasn’t I the one who woke up with something long and impatient sliding inside me?” she said through her blush.
“Open for me, baby.” He bit her lower lip as she’d bitten his, caught her startled whimper in a kiss. “I want in.”
“I haven’t said yes yet.” “Yes, you have, Molly.” Fox held her gaze, sweeping his thumbs slowly across the delicate skin above her tights. “I can feel it in the pulse under your skin, hear it in your voice, scent the damp heat of you on my tongue.”

Publisher Synopsis

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh stuns with a sizzling contemporary romance…

A bad boy wrapped in a sexy, muscled, grown-up package might be worth a little risk…

Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media’s harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.

A one-night stand with the hottest rock star on the planet, that’s all it was meant to be…

Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he’ll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn’t only her body that’s become addicted to Fox, but her heart…

About The Author
My first foray into the Romance genre came my freshman year in high school English, where the teacher had us all read books from several different genres. So, my first book boyfriend and PnR introduction, if you will, was Richard Merlin, from The Wizard of Seattle. Prior to that, I’d only read Fantasy or Sci-fi, with a little teen horror thrown in for angst. I was reading The Vampire Diaries decades before it was even a twinkle in the eyes of the producers. Now, I am addicted to PnR, always reading at least one book a week about vamps, wolves, angels, demons, Fae, or overall magic.
