“Our doubts always come to us at night, but doubts are skittish things, love. They never survive the sunrise.”
Well. When a cosmic joke like that comes your way, you have to laugh. Amber Eyes was probably the first guy in three years who I saw in color, and he was deaf. And me? The only human language I had anymore was music.
I have always lived in silence, but I’ve never felt alone,” he remarked.
That night, he played me like I played the violin, and the notes were perfect and clear and sweet. He gave me pleasure like I’d never known and pulled from me a kind of surrender that I’d never dared to experience. I gave him complete control, and he could have cut off my air and I would have kept my eyes on his in absolute willing submission and died. I loved him.

Publisher Synopsis

Cooper has spent the last three years running from a painful past. He's currently moving from town to town, working in restaurant kitchens, and playing his violin for tips. As soon as he starts to feel comfortable anywhere—with anyone—he moves on. He's aware that music may be the only human language he still knows. Ironically, the one man he's wanted to communicate with in all that time is deaf.

Shawn is part of a deaf theater group at the nearby college. Shawn wants Cooper as soon as they meet and he begins a determined flirtation. Cooper is comfortable with down and dirty sex, just not people. As far as Shawn is concerned, dirty sex is win-win, but he wants Cooper to let him into the rest of his life as well.

Cooper needs time to heal and put his past away for good. Shawn needs to help Cooper forgive himself and accept that he can be loved. Both men find out that when it comes to the kind of healing love can bring, the sleepy beachside town of Santo Ignacio, “St. Nacho's” as the locals call it, may just be the very best place to start.

About The Author

Though Solange has moved on from Shameless Book Club and is living somewhere in Europe, we’re gladly keeping her recommendations alive and published because they were just that good. —
Solange reads and writes gay romance like it’s her job — because it is. She likes her heroes and heroines tortured and horny, her plots juicy and riddled with angst, and rarely passes up the opportunity to add in some hurt and comfort. When she’s not reading or writing, Solange rides horses, hikes around Michigan’s plentiful lakes or whizzes down mountains with a snowboard to her feet. She’s a speed-junky, a caffeine addict and a dog lover. If you’d like to get in touch, email her here. She doesn’t bite, unless that floats your boat.
