Why Do We Like This Book?

Marissa Recommends
If I could give this story more than 5 Stars, I would. In true KA fashion, we get our hot Alpha biker and the sweet, loveable (but can be tough) woman he loves. And when we get the older couple stories, we get lots of family time too. We do see more action in this book than in the previous and it has me nervous for the next few books for sure. I cried once and teared up a few other times because the beginning 40% just gutted me. I loved how we got to see High and Millie first fall in love 20+ years ago, their tumultuous reunion, and then the perfect reunion as only a KA alpha can perform . . . reinserting himself into his lady love’s life until she fully understand he’s not going anywhere. Plus, we saw the other Chaos ladies, Elvira and a few other KA characters we love, then another wonderful epilogue. [October 2015]

Second chance romance stories are my favorite, and this one tops them all!! It was awesome to watch High and Millie fall in love, then 20 years later pick up right where they left off!! People change a lot in 20 years, and High was involved in some shady stuff, but Millie never stopped loving him. Their story is gritty and real and beautiful. As always, it's great to see favorite characters from KA's other series and to catch up with the Chaos family. Walk Through Fire is definitely my favorite of the Chaos Series (Sorry Shy!!).

“I missed you.”  It wasn’t a whisper.  It was a breath.  Barely audible, each word weighed down by heartache and history.
“I love you,” he declared.  “Loved you then.  Love you now.  Never quit lovin’ you in a way I know I never will.  You were it for me, the only one, the only woman I ever loved, and you never quit bein’ it.  So I think you can get how I cannot find words to explain how fuckin’ pleased I am that you’re back.”
There were only a few words in the Vocabulary of Badass but each one had a number of meanings. They included “beautiful, Christ, fuck, Jesus, and shit.” But the one used most was “babe.”
“You were it for me, the only one, the only woman I ever loved, and you never quit bein’ it. So I think you can get how I cannot find words to explain how fuckin’ pleased I am that you’re back.”

About The Author
Marissa
My first foray into the Romance genre came my freshman year in high school English, where the teacher had us all read books from several different genres. So, my first book boyfriend and PnR introduction, if you will, was Richard Merlin, from The Wizard of Seattle. Prior to that, I’d only read Fantasy or Sci-fi, with a little teen horror thrown in for angst. I was reading The Vampire Diaries decades before it was even a twinkle in the eyes of the producers. Now, I am addicted to PnR, always reading at least one book a week about vamps, wolves, angels, demons, Fae, or overall magic.
