Best Paranormal Romance Books: Bayou Heat, Broken Dove
Bayou Heat Collection One (Books 1-6) by Laura Wright and Alexandra Ivy
“If I was lucky enough to be claimed by you, I’d never give you cause to wonder.” Tears formed in Julia’s throat. His words, his gaze . . . the blatant sincerity behind both . . this man had the power to change her, her heart and her soul, if she would ever allow it.
A gasp of pleasure was ripped from her lips as his hands gripped her hips, tilting her so he could sink even deeper, invading her with the promise of paradise.
“Sweet Genny,” he whispered against her breast. “You’re creaming, ma cherie. Your thighs, your hot pussy and my sheets are drenched.” He ran his teeth over her nipple. “Just the way I like it.”

This series is written by two great PNR authors, each one writing 1 novella of the 2-part duologies. They are quick, sexy, panther shifter stories and it’s great to see each author’s respective writing style in their stories. They explain the mythology behind the Pantera, have love stories with suspense, and hot smut, while also building the overall world story together. And since this happens near New Orleans, the men have that lovely Cajun accent that will make you swoon.
Note: You’ll save more money buying the Bundle instead of each individual duo. Novella 0.5 is currently Free and book 1-2 is set at 99¢.[/box_light] [box_light]
Broken Dove (Fantasyland Series) by Kristen Ashley
My voice so quiet, it was even difficult for me to hear, I told him, “All my life, I’ve never been happy. So I never imagined even being that way. Until now.”
He heard me. I knew because that got me another powerful squeeze that took my breath away and I felt his lips back at my hair.
She gave him a shaky smile. “Thank you, my dove, for fighting so hard this night to save a life I cherish.”
“Remember this kiss,” he ordered on a whisper, his eyes staring into mine.
There weren’t many kisses Apollo had given me that I didn’t remember. I didn’t share that. I asked, “Why?”
“Because it is special,” he answered.
“They’re all special, Lo,” I pointed out and watched his eyes smile even as I felt his lips do the same.
“They are, dove,” he agreed. “But this one, the first I will give you knowing you return yours with love, will be the one I most treasure for the rest of my life.”

This was one of my most anticipated books for 2013, not only because I knew it would be another great Kristen Ashley novel, but because I hoped to see favorite characters. Once again, I had a hard time choosing favorite quotes as well, because this book is chock full of short and sweet and lengthy, sexy ones.
The story is lengthy, probably one of KA’s longest, but it had to be in order to include a lot of information: Apollo and Ilsa falling in love, dealing with both of their heartrending pasts and how Ilsa can fit into the new World, fighting the evil witches and subplots, and meeting with the main characters of the other books so the women are protected. KA not only put a lovely romance with magic and mayhem in this book, but she had a Fantasyland series family reunion with the main characters from the previous 3 books.
Though you can read this without the previous books because there are summarized tidbits within Broken Dove of the other stories, I feel you will not be fully integrated into the lives of the characters without knowing the complete back stories.[/box_light]

My first foray into the Romance genre came my freshman year in high school English, where the teacher had us all read books from several different genres. So, my first book boyfriend and PnR introduction, if you will, was Richard Merlin, from The Wizard of Seattle. Prior to that, I’d only read Fantasy or Sci-fi, with a little teen horror thrown in for angst. I was reading The Vampire Diaries decades before it was even a twinkle in the eyes of the producers. Now, I am addicted to PnR, always reading at least one book a week about vamps, wolves, angels, demons, Fae, or overall magic. Follow me on Goodreads [/box_dark]
