I recently turned the tables and asked on Facebook and Twitter what I should read next. The book that stood out to me at the time was Dark Light by S.L. Jennings.

Here’s a bit of my recommendation:

[su_quote]I love being inside of a funny girl’s head; it feels like home to me. I did want to slap some sense into Gabriella’s head at times, but if I were being wooed by a Ian Somerhalder lookalike, I might lose my grasp on reality, too. Great read with some seriously sexy scenes.[/su_quote]

By the end of the book, I was hooked on finding out what was going to happen in the next book. So I batted my puppy dog eyelashes, and S.L. sent me an advanced copy of The Dark Prince.

I kind of sort of completely loved it:

[su_quote]I was ruined by Dorian, but not in the good ways Gabriella was ruined (unfortunately). The Dark Prince is much more paranormal than Dark Light, which for the progression of the series, makes total sense. And when a book is in the realm of magical paranormal, anything can happen and anything makes sense.[/su_quote]

5 Awkward Questions with SL JenningsIf an author is good enough to ruin me, she needs to answer some awkward questions.

1. What are your top 3 all-time favorite romance-ish books?
Easy by Tammara Webber, Hopeless by Colleen Hoover (who I have a huge author girl crush on), Thoughtless by SC Stephens

2. What is your favorite sexual position and why?
I like to be on top. I’m a control freak.

3. What’s the last book you started to read but couldn’t finish?
Shit…are you trying to put me on the BBA (Badly Behaving Authors) list? Hell, I might already be on it…

4. What was your GPA when you graduated high school?

5. Take a photo of yourself right now, including all or part of your face, and send it to me to post with this questionnaire.
Dude, I’m on a deadline. And it’s 11:34pm. But I have a pic that looks just like me at this very moment.

BONUS: Name a hero or anti-hero you keep stored in your Spank Bank that you’re embarrassed to admit is there.
First off, I’m never embarrassed of the Spank Bank. I’m quite proud of it, honestly. But I’d have to say Kellan Kyle aka Devin Paisley. It’s that damn strong jaw line & those eyes. And lips. And body. Oh hell…I need a drink & the laptop.

Clearly, S.L. went the way of Alice Clayton and phoned it in with that image. *irritated eyes at you* No worries; I have a very brave author for the next round of 5 Awkward Questions who sent in an ACTUAL photo of herself.

Next up in 5 Awkward Questions: Tessa Bailey, author of Protecting What’s His!
