If I could give Jack & Cassidy's story 10 ★★★★★★★★★★'s I would! There was something about their connection and chemistry that evoked butterflies in me and I adore that feeling (yes even ME, the dark romance lover enjoys a feel-good story every once and a while). I was drawn to Cassidy's character for many reasons but one of the main was her love for her Mama. It really set the tone for how good-hearted and determined she was. When there was an issue, financially or day to day like her car breaking down, she never gave up or waited for someone to fix it. I LOVED that about her. She was a strong female and that definitely came in handy when Jack came into the picture. Ohhhh Jack. My new book boyfriend. I loved every. single. thing. about him. The way he carries himself in such a secure, powerful way was such a turn-on. Reading about his struggles and background just made his climb to greatness even more admirable. His story (and his brothers) brings a level of suspense and drama to the book that really pushed it to a different place for me. And while his scenes with Cassidy were SMOKIN HOT, Juliana and Derick stole the show for me in more ways than one. A book is successful when not only do you want more from the main characters, but also the secondary and Loren really hit this one out of the park!

"You're awfully demanding, did you know that?"
He angles his body toward me, leaning in close enough that I tilt my head back to meet his eyes. "You have no idea," he says quietly, and the innuendo raises goosebumps on my skin.
We were given each other, and through her own pains and her own disabilities, she has kissed my bloodied knees, laughed at my atrocious attitudes, and wiped tears from my eyes more times than I can count. She’s the reason behind every ounce of strength I possess.
Sweet, tender kisses still burn my lips and skin where Jack’s mouth previously marked me. He’s given me adventure, allowed me to explore a more sensual side of myself, and he willingly lets his walls down, never once taking advantage of me. He can’t be all bad… can he?
“I’m saying that I want to wake up each morning knowing you’re as starved for me as I am for you. I want your laugh echoing around my bar and that smart mouth putting the guys in their places. I want to fuck you, make love to you, and worship you until you can’t tell where I begin and you end. That is what I want, Cassidy.”
“Take me.” I tilt her face up to mine. “Use me,” I whisper my promise closer to her tempting lips. “Keep me.”
Her supple lips find mine in the darkness, barely giving me a chance to react. “Yes,” she murmurs against me.

Synopsis
A new heart-pounding, roller-coaster romance from the author of The Art of Loving Ellie, Loren Beeson.
Cassidy Smith is desperate for some excitement. Her free-spirited best friend keeps her on her toes with the occasional misadventure, but deep down, she just needs... more. When the girls stumble into a bar known for its bad reputation and a tattooed, bad boy owner, Cassidy’s left daydreaming about what it would be like to ditch her boring life and find a way to fit in with the rough, rowdy crowd of The Pound.
Jack Campbell’s got a one-track mind. He works hard to provide for the guys who work for him and even harder to keep his bar running in tip-top shape. He can’t afford the temptation of Cassidy being more than just a temporary employee, but against his better judgment, he offers the beautiful blonde a job at his bar. Things get more complicated for Jack when his older brother starts stirring up trouble in town, etching a target on his back and forcing him into a world he promised never to turn back to.
With their hearts on the table and a deck full of secrets, will they bet it all... or give up their hand?
