“You smell so damn good.” A wicked glint flicks in her eyes, and she pulls him forward, feet on his shoulders. “I taste even better.”
“Semper Fi, you’re not broken.” Mollie lets the soft touch of her fingers on his stubble transform Vaughn’s frown, shift it into stillness. “You’ve been bent, you’ve been pushed to your limits, but no one who sacrifices like you do, who wants to save, to love like you do, is broken.”
“I think I deserve for you to hate me.” I don’t, she thinks. “I deserve for you to punch me.” I really only wanna touch you. Vaughn nudges forward so that his hips are against her. “I don’t deserve you, Mollie. But I want to.”

In this second installment of Eden’s Seeking Serenity series, she introduces a lot of suspense compared to book 1. Plus, we really meet Vaughn, the hot ex-Marine and Mollie, who is trying to work up the courage to ask him out.
Mollie is tough and very sure of herself. She was raised in a motorcycle club until her Dad is arrested and she finishes her growing up with her estranged mom. In the small town where the story takes place, she meets all the girls from book 1, and they become best friends, always leaning on one another when needed. In this instance, Mollie goes against her friendships and tries to leave them out of the escalating violence surrounding her, especially since both Vaughn and Declan (her best friend’s man) try the whole protection thing. Enter Vaughn, who’s there to help protect her, even though she’s constantly telling him she doesn’t need a protector. She has a gun and is not afraid to use it. There is a lot of wavering on Vaughn’s part, he’s afraid to get too close to Mollie, yet is drawn to her, but once you find out his demons, they are earth-shattering and heart-breaking. Mollie knows what she wants, and she gets so mad at Vaughn, it’s almost comical how this big, strapping Marine wavers before her. But, once he gives in, it’s fireworks in the bedroom, some give and take from both of them, and yes, eventually, Mollie gets her man.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for sharing my honest review.
My first foray into the Romance genre came my freshman year in high school English, where the teacher had us all read books from several different genres. So, my first book boyfriend and PnR introduction, if you will, was Richard Merlin, from The Wizard of Seattle. Prior to that, I’d only read Fantasy or Sci-fi, with a little teen horror thrown in for angst. I was reading The Vampire Diaries decades before it was even a twinkle in the eyes of the producers. Now, I am addicted to PnR, always reading at least one book a week about vamps, wolves, angels, demons, Fae, or overall magic. Follow me on Goodreads
