Marissa Not So PNR Mini Banner Breathe will put you through the wringer of emotions, but it is so worth it. I love this couple. You have the sweet, shy, virgin who’s loved the tarnished knight from afar. Chace, who has so much baggage to overcome, feels he is too dirty to have the maiden, Faye. Now, throw in the usual conglomeration of awesome side characters in a Kristen Ashley novel, a dose of suspense, a heart breaking side plot and you have one hell of a ride. Be ready with the Kleenex in some parts and a friend on speed-dial when your heart starts to break. Don’t worry, we all know KA leaves us with an awesome Epilogue to highlight her HEA’s. Chace and Faye, one of my very favorite KA couples. He's a cop, a true hero. She's a sweet, quirky librarian who lives for romance books and Star Trek. They bond over helping a homeless kid and trying to solve the murders and corruption going on in Carnal. Breathe is their love story. It's sexy and easy and intense all at once. Definitely a KA favorite!! [August 2014]

There's nothing like the first time . . .

In Carnal, Colorado, Faye Goodknight is the town's quiet, shy librarian. She may also be Carnal's last remaining virgin. For years, Faye has had a crush on Chace Keaton, but the gorgeous cop has always been unattainable. She's resigned to live contentedly with only her books for company-until Faye suddenly meets Chace alone in the woods . . .

Chace doesn't think he's the good guy everyone believes him to be. He's made a lot of choices he regrets, including denying his feelings for Faye. Through his choices, he's come to believe the pretty librarian is too good for him, but after their time in the woods, Chace realizes that she may be his last chance for redemption. Soon, their long simmering desires grow to a burning passion. Yet always casting a shadow over their happiness is Chace's dark past . . .

My first foray into the Romance genre came my freshman year in high school English, where the teacher had us all read books from several different genres. So, my first book boyfriend and PnR introduction, if you will, was Richard Merlin, from The Wizard of Seattle. Prior to that, I’d only read Fantasy or Sci-fi, with a little teen horror thrown in for angst. I was reading The Vampire Diaries decades before it was even a twinkle in the eyes of the producers. Now, I am addicted to PnR, always reading at least one book a week about vamps, wolves, angels, demons, Fae, or overall magic.
