This was my second C. E. Johson book, but it will not be my last! I really enjoy her characters, and the ways she weaves her stories. Paul and Jolene have both made mistakes in their past, but their story is enchanting, and it's impossible not to enjoy it. The suspense in the story is well played, and the chemistry is super hot. It's the third book in the series, and it's not necessary to read the first two in order to get into this one, although be prepared to want to pick the other two books up to get more of these characters! Get into this world today, and you won't regret it!

About This Book

Our Favorite Quotes

Paul picks up the pace and locks eyes with me. I can see the struggle he's having to keep it together. To wait for me. He isn't going to have to wait long because a million bursts of light shoot through me. A high like no other surges through my body.

Our bodies move together in desperate need. It doesn't take long for me to begin feeling that tingle that starts deep in the pit of my stomach. Paul devours me, delving deeper and deeper as my breathing picks up.

Once I'm within his reach, his hand starts at my calf but quickly moves up my leg as I push forcefully against his shoulder, causing him to lean back. The pressure of his erection through his boxer shorts presses against me as I straddle him on the floor.

From The Publisher

Our love was unstoppable. Our bond, unbreakable. Until it wasn’t. An impossible choice had to be made. Lies were told. Hearts were broken. Though the years have passed, Jolene Barrington still looks just as beautiful as the day I met her. Except the golden hue that once shined in her eyes has tarnished. She’s in trouble. And she needs me to be the same man I was before. But that’s impossible. That man’s heart is no longer in his chest. It’s buried six feet under.
