If you love Mafia feuding families, secrets, romance and a hero who is sweet to the heroine, then you will love this book. The blurb got me to #1Click, but it was Tijan’s writing and characters that had me hooked from page 1. I love Tijan’s New Adult series and this was such a different storyline to what I was used to from her. There was more mystery and suspense, but Cole and Addison were perfect together. I was heartbroken with Addison in the beginning until she started to love Cole, the opening chapter and other flashbacks will have you reaching for a tissue or 2.

He was beautiful like a fallen angel, but so lethal at the same time.

“I’m going to do everything you want me to do. I won’t do anything you don’t want me to. If you want me to hold you, I’ll never let you go. If you want me to kiss you all night long, you’ll have to buy me chapstick in the morning. Anything you want, I’ll do.”

“I’m not scared of who you are. I’m not scared of what you can do. I’m not scared what it means to be at your side. I’m only scared of how much I can’t be without you. That terrifies me, all the way to the bone. But I’m still here. I can’t walk away from you.”

From The Publisher

I shouldn’t have remembered him.

He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn't know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.

But I could feel him.

The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.

The second time was different.

He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.

That was just the beginning.

He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…

Cole Mauricio.

My first foray into the Romance genre came my freshman year in high school English, where the teacher had us all read books from several different genres. So, my first book boyfriend and PnR introduction, if you will, was Richard Merlin, from The Wizard of Seattle. Prior to that, I’d only read Fantasy or Sci-fi, with a little teen horror thrown in for angst. I was reading The Vampire Diaries decades before it was even a twinkle in the eyes of the producers. Now, I am addicted to PnR, always reading at least one book a week about vamps, wolves, angels, demons, Fae, or overall magic.
