Temperance & Asher have the type of relationship that even time can't alter. Crossing paths in high school, Tempie crushed hard on the football star but chalked it up to typical teenage feelings that hormones and anxiety prevented her from pursuing. Now years later, Asher has returned home, and he lights that same fire in Temperance only this time, the feelings are mutual. I loved the emotional moments almost as much as I loved the humor and lightheartedness of the store. The story gets deep without feeling overwhelming or gut-wrenching, which I appreciated for an early summer read. A few twists and situations popped up that made me think everything I was enjoying was suddenly going to stop BUT Miranda knows how to shake it up without losing the heart and soul of the story. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

Her hair, normally piled on top of her head, is falling in loose waves around her shoulders. Her makeup is darker than I’ve seen on her before, and her lips are a red I’d love to see wrapped around my cock. She’s got on a black T-shirt with the Pete’s Pints logo in white across her ample chest.
The loose shirt is pulled tight to the side and tied in a knot just above the waistband of her jean shorts. I catch myself staring for way too long at her ass in those shorts. My new favorite shorts. The way her ass is filling out the tight denim has me half-hard right here in the middle of the damn bar.
I pull my head up from her neck to look her in the eyes. Time seems to pass at an unbearably slow pace, though really, it’s just seconds as I ease my thumb under the frayed edges of her shorts and over her damp panties.
“Fuuuck, you’re wet. How long have you been like this, Tempie? Is it all just for me?”
“Since I first saw you walk in,” she breathes out, still looking into my eyes.
“You’re so tight. You’re going to feel so good wrapped around my cock. So fucking good.”
When we were younger, Temperance Price was the quiet girl with dreamy eyes who hung on my every word. She was always beautiful, but I had plans to get out of Red Oak and make a life of my own.
Ten years later, a crushing tragedy has brought me home again—right back to her.
The innocent girl I left is gone, and in her place is a sassy single mom I can’t get out of my head. She’s hired me to fix her house, but I have other things in mind.
She thinks I’m just a handyman.
She thinks we’re only friends.
She thinks I’ve never noticed her.
I think what really needs to be fixed is her whole perspective.
