I cannot believe it has taken me this long to read a book by RuNyx. As a lover of dark, horror erotica, I normally search far and wide for unique, creepy tales and I am sad to say this was my first by this author, but definitely not my last! This was one of those books I picked up before bed to "start reading" and then before I knew it, it was 3 am and I was heartbroken that it was over. Every detail about this book is captivating. The setting. The characters. The passion. I felt like I was high off of the connection between Vad & Corvina. Oh my god, the way they just devour each other - in every sense of the word- is intoxicating. As a reader, I was completely enthralled in their taboo love affair. I LOVED the ending because it caught me so off guard but it SO left me wanting more! I gave this book a NUCLEAR rating for heat because the sex scenes are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! I read a lot of erotica, but the way RuNyx describes what is happening and the intensity of it took it to a whole other level for me. I hope this book only scratched the surface of these two and there is more to come because DAMN!

Our Favorite Quotes
She’d always been alone in her life, never really confided in anyone by choice. She was used to it. But for some reason, she wanted to confide in him and she wanted him to keep her secrets safe. End of the day, she didn’t know a thing about this man except that he played the most beautiful music she’d heard, he was highly intelligent, and he kissed her like she was both something to cherish and something to ravish.
“It makes me want things, little crow.”
“Things like what?” she whispered, her heart in her throat, her gaze locked with his.
“Things like my fist in your hair and my tongue in your mouth,” he told her harshly, the lines of his face strained. “Things like fucking you in front of the boy who held your hand, just to tell him you’ll never be his. Things like bending you over my desk after class and telling you to wrap your lips around my cock like you do with your pencil.”
“Fuck,” he pulled on her braid. “And here I was thinking about you going bare with all those salivating little boys around you.”
“You’re not that older,” she ran her hand over his shoulder and up his neck, into his hair, touching that distinctive white streak she’d wanted to touch for a long time.
“Old enough to make you come like a firecracker around my cock.”
“This is lust,” she whispered, trying to validate it, excuse it.
“No, Corvina,” the side of his lips twitched. “I’ve known lust. This is something worse. This is a barbaric need to possess, to eliminate, to own. This is madness.”
A noise she didn’t recognize left her, swallowed by his mouth, their kissing frantic, their fucking even more so. And it was fucking – like animals, raw, visceral, out in the open with a mountain at their back and a cliff at their front, with nothing around them but nature in all its abundant glory.

Synopsis
An unusual girl. An enigmatic man. An ancient castle. What could go wrong?
An outcast her entire life, Corvina Clemm is left adrift after losing her mother. When she receives the admission letter from the mysterious University of Verenmore, she accepts it as a sign from the universe. The last thing she expects though is an olden, secluded castle on top of a mountain riddled with secrets, deceit, and death.
An enigma his entire life, Vad Deverell likes being a closed book but knowing exactly everything that happens in the university. A part-time professor working on his thesis, Vad has been around long enough to know the dangers the castle possesses. And he knows the moment his paths cross with Corvina, she's dangerous to everything that he is.
They shouldn't have caught each other's eye. They cannot be. But a chill-inducing century-old mystery forces them to collide. People have disappeared every five years for over a hundred years, and Corvina is getting clues to unraveling it all, and Vad needs to keep an eye on her.
And so begins a tale of the mystique, the morbid, the macabre, and a deep love that blossoms in the unlikeliest of places.
