I really thought this was a interesting take on a D/s relationship. Zaid and Heather play a very unique role in each others lives. Heather is trying to find and save her sister which leads her to be auctioned off in a BDSM club. Zaid buys her and begins training her on what is expected. The chemistry between them is instant and the deeper they go, the harder they fall. I really enjoyed the setup with the twists and unexpected turns.

About This Book
There were a few more positions that I would teach tomorrow, including Surrender. I pictured her in Surrender, on the ground, her knees tucked underneath her, as if bowing down to what came to her, my hand reaching between her legs, holding her pussy, feeling her heat. Her need.
I liked knowing that he knew he had complete control over me, exactly what to do to make my thighs clench together.
The things I would do to you, given the chance. I would use you. Hurt you. Make you beg to come. And when you are at the edge of insanity, losing yourself to the abyss, you will say my name. Tell me that I own you. That all you are, is mine.
I can taunt her. Tease her. Torment her. Desire her...
...as long as it is part of our training.
Caring about her was never part of the plan.
Our agreement is simple: Heather will help me avenge my late mother by pretending to be a gift for the enemy. In return, I will keep her sister safe.
Heather’s life depends on me. I know that her training will lead her to the truth: the man who collars her can’t protect her from the darkness locked inside, nor the secrets that will ruin her. I’m as dangerous to Heather as the enemy.
Heather was never meant to be more than an alluring trap. A tantalizing gift. An expendable toy. Resisting her shouldn’t be difficult, if it weren’t for that streak of deep, fierce loyalty coursing through her veins. She intrigues me, and that makes her more than a toy.
But she is crucial to my revenge. As long as the enemy lives, she is mine to control.
Author's Note: His Toy is a standalone book in the new dark romance series, The Afterglow. It is a dominant and submissive romance, and contains themes of captivity, confinement, and cruelty. Reader discretion is advised.
