I was so captivated by the synopsis of this book that I instantly 1-clicked. Murder, mystery, heartbreak, passion all come together to create this beautiful story of Hunter and James. After a devastating loss, James finds himself in a new place surrounded by new people and some suspicious circumstances. You find out that his meeting Hunter is less fate and more based on history. James is sweet and vulnerable and Hunter acts as his saving grace in many ways. Claire Cray can write some delicious M/M scenes, let me tell you! This story has many layers but is really well done and the character development comes full circle which is always very satisfying.

About This Book
Our Favorite Quotes
Hunter watched him walk away and felt a hunger waking up deep inside, like a beast stirred from a long slumber. Christ. It was like a meteor had struck.
James noticed a funny feeling in his cheeks, and realized he was grinning. Then he realized all he wanted to do was crawl over the table and taste that quiet smile.
God, Hunter felt so good. Smelled so good. Tasted so fucking good. A wild feeling rumbled through him, primal and possessive. It surged higher when he got Hunter’s cock out of his jeans, felt the thick weight of it in his palm.
From The Publisher
In the stormy coastal woods of the Pacific Northwest, roots run deep and passions run wild.
Reeling with grief and hounded by the press after the mysterious massacre of his wealthy family, moody New York photographer James Worthington Crane decides to take his downward spiral somewhere far away: to the rural Oregon Coast, where he’s just inherited a random piece of property hidden somewhere in the woods upriver.
But when James pulls into the decaying seaside town of Brooks, everyone thinks he’s someone else—an elusive local rebel named Beau. Now James must fight through his own grief to unravel a tangled web of family secrets, mysterious doppelgängers, and forgotten history...with help from a soft-spoken local hunk named Hunter Quaid.
Hunter’s been on his own since he left his fundamentalist family at the age of fifteen. It’s taken years of hard work and healing to build the steady life he has now, fixing up seaside houses while living alone in a trailer by the river. Then James blows in like a winter storm, disturbing the peace and stirring up a hunger like nothing he's ever felt.
As Hunter helps James search for the truth, their lives intertwine in unexpected ways—and they begin to discover what it means to find out where you really belong.
