This novella was exactly what I needed leading up to Valentine's day. The perfect 1-2 punch! There is no beating around the bush. Gideon & Ryan made it clear from the start that they were on a different wavelength then everybody else. I mean, he was so entuned to her physically and emotionally he had her say her affirmations right became she came. And he said them back to drive home the point! He wanted her to love herself and see what he saw so badly. It was as beautiful as it was erotic. Their intimacy was indescribable. And I loved how sexy he was - “Sit on it,” he ordered before tugging his bottom lip between his teeth. I mean, DAMN! Ryan was one lucky girl!

I wanted him to take this moment to all but worship me and help me heal and love myself, boost my self-esteem to where it was before the breakup, but I also was anxious to feel him inside of me. But… this was about me. I had to keep telling myself that. Had to tell myself to allow him to give me the honor I deserved.
I waited for my heart and mind to go to war. To tell me that this was a bad idea. To remind me that we’d come here to get one man out of our system, not add another. None of that happened. The longer I stared into his eyes… the safer I felt I would be with him.
He led me into the hardest orgasm I’d ever had in my life, agreeing with every affirmation I said and adding his own under his breath. Or, at least, it sounded like it was under his breath. My own voice was the main one I focused on. His was the sweetest, melodic backdrop I’d ever heard.
