I’m not sure who I consider the alpha in this book, Lincoln or Dakota! Both went toe to toe with their quick wit and fiery banter. From their first encounter, you just know these two are going to EXPLODE once they cross that line of boss and employee. They each come from traumatic pasts and they are triggered throughout the story but, in the end, they each just needed someone who understood them. There’s definitely layers of angst and humor which mix perfectly into the sexy buildup that is just waiting to implode. I read this story in just a few hours because once the tension began to ignite between them, I needed to get to the heat! 🔥

A terrible part of me wants that dress up higher, though. A nastier part wants to shear it right off her, all the better to get my hot, tingling hands on her skin. Would she still give me that mouth if these fingers put her in her place? Would we finally understand each other if we fucked out this suffocating tension at a debased, animal level?
I can’t help the way my eyes wander to those fingers. For a man who spends so much time in the office, his hands look rough. Worn. They’re the kind of hands that could do appalling things to me in my darkest dreams. The ones I’m totally not having where my boss grabs me, shoves me against the nearest wall, and shoves his hands between my—
My cock throbs as I lean back in my seat, caught in a vision of those pert, strawberry lips sucking my thumb. Even now, after the crap that went down, I’d still like to stroke that delicate skin where her neckline keeps falling. I’d like to satisfy this weird fuck-fantasy we both share and run my hands over her tits, up her dress. Fuck, what I wouldn’t give to grab her panties—black lace or dotted with ravens, no doubt—and tear them off her so I can feel what she really thinks of me.
Have you ever kissed anyone who’s too fucking good to be kissed? You come in hot, expecting perfect poise and control and a tongue primed for its best moves, only to get one second in. One measly second before you’re frozen in disbelief, thrown back like you’ve been hit by the very best kind of lightning.
“Look at me. Give me every bit of those green eyes when you go off,” he growls, his stare beaming pure dominance into my brain.
His hands move back to my hips and stay there, guiding my movements so I match his.
Soon, our pace quickens, and I don’t have a single solitary prayer of holding on.

Strange men do funny things when you score the last cinnamon roll.

I'm not laughing.
My sweet tooth betrayed me and Lincoln Burns is one bad sugar rush.
A coldhearted grump. A mile-wide ego. An eligible bachelor who doesn't “do” dating.
Did I mention Mr. Congeniality runs a fashion empire with weddings in its sights?
Of course he does.
And, of course, weddings make me gag after my ex made my heart roadkill.
Every instinct I have screams run.
But money talks, and Lincoln's deep pockets roar.
One big fat bonus proposal lures me into his world.
Somehow, our vicious fights become vivid flirting.
His secrets thrill me in the worst ways.
Then he makes a second proposal.

Oh, how I wish cinnamon rolls came with warnings.
It's all sticky sweet heaven until you catch feelings for the bossman from hell...
