This is a GREAT book! PSYCHOlogical is the perfect title for it because it drove me crazy and played around with my mind. Valerie, the psychiatrist in charge of evaluating the men working in a secret government program, meets Vincent, a marine involved in the op and all hell breaks loose. Therapy builds a friendships which plants seeds that grow into feelings and suddenly lines becomes blurred. You will think you know what is going on until Scott pulls the rug out from underneath you and has you completely caught off guard. So many lies, secrets, twists and turns. Plus, the sexual tension is a huge hot plus! This is definitely much more of a psychological thriller where the romance takes a backseat but it is such a fantastic plot! There is a lot in this book that keeps you guessing and those are my favorite types of stories!

He kissed me.
It was as simple as a kiss could be, His lips pressed against my cheek, just beside my mouth.
Despite its simplicity, it rocked me to my core. My mind swam in the possibilities of what might follow. For one night with him. I could cast ethics and aversion aside. One night together wouldn't hurt either of us. One wonderful sex-filled night.
I wanted my old life back. The one where Vincent would enter my office with one corner of his mouth curled up in a grin that he wasn't able to completely conceal. He'd reveal his worries, concerns, and feelings.
I'd offer a professional opinion of why he felt the way he did. He'd ask questions. I'd make suggestions on how he could find a way to accept his feelings as being nothing but his mind's natural reaction to a situation. He'd eventually stand, smile, turn away, and take one last glance in my direction before leaving. I'd cling to that glance until the next time we met.
My hands explored the curves of her body, hungry to convey my mind's desires without allowing our lips to part. Soon, her naked flesh was against mine.

Vincent Briggs had an unsavory childhood. Becoming a statistic would have been easy, but Vincent never took the easy way out of anything. Intelligent, cunning, and manipulative, he managed to do more than survive. He thrived. Now in his mid-thirties, Vincent is perceived by many as being the best in existence at his job. His profession?
Valerie Rhoades is the psychiatrist assigned to be Vincent's mental health professional. An employee of the government's New Dawn program, she counsels Vincent and his colleagues as they assassinate criminals the Department of Justice can't build a legal case against.
In time, she learns the inner workings of a killer's mind. The things they didn't teach her in school.
Intrigued by Vincent's ability to separate himself from his work, Valerie can't help but wonder if beneath the killer façade that Vincent might be an anomaly. In time, they develop a rather unique working friendship.
When she learns the truth behind the government's reasoning for the many assassinations on US soil, she contemplates leaving the program.
Little does she know, if she leaves, she'll be next on New Dawn's hit list.
If that happens, she has one chance at survival.
