    Our Recommendation

🎶Strumming my pain with her pages... singing my life with her words... killing me softly with this book, killing me softly with this book... telling my whole life with her words... killing me softly, with this BOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKK! 🎶 Do you ever read a book and stop to look around, because somehow the author has gazed into your heart and mind and put your feelings onto the pages? Like some Neverending Story shizz! Brittainy is a master at the craft of word weaving and I will forever read any story she puts to pages. 7 years ago I lost my mama, I am her ladybug and she was my dragonfly. My son even has a dragonfly tattoo in her honor. That being said, I felt this book in my bones. It is one of the most beautiful stories of love, loss and healing I've read in a very very long time. This book explores the depth of human emotion in the most poetic and touching way. If you're looking for an ugly cry, roller coaster of a story that will leave your heart filled with joy, you need this book in your life. All the feels people. All. The. Feels.

Greyson East left his mark on me.

As the young girl who first fell for him, I didn’t know much about life. I did know about his smiles, though, and his laughs, and the strange way my stomach flipped when he was near.

Life was perfect…until it wasn’t, and when we were forced to go our separate ways, I held on to our memories, let go of my first crush, and wished for the day I’d find him again.

When my wish came true, it was nothing like I imagined.

I couldn’t have known when I took the nanny position that it would be his children I looked after, that my new boss would be that boy I used to know, that boy who was now a man—a cold, lonely, detached man.

The smile and laugh I had loved so much were gone, now distant memories. Every part of him was covered in a fresh pain.

When he realized who I was, he made me promise to do my job and my job only.
He made me promise not to try to get to know him, not to recall the memories I’d treasured all this time.

But, sometimes, I saw the boy I’d once known in his stormy eyes. I saw the Greyson who smiled and laughed, who had stolen a young girl’s heart, and there was no doubt in my mind that this boy was worth fighting for.

I was given a second chance with the one who’d left his mark on me. All I hoped was that somehow I’d leave a mark on his soul, too.

    & More!

I think people underestimate how important just showing up is. It's everything.
Sadness didn't come with words; it ran across a persons body. It swam in their eyes. It swept across the wrinkles in one's forehead. It pushed down their shoulders and sat uncomfortably at the corners of their lips.
I didn't know if they were happy tears or sad, but it didn't matter. As long as I was still feeling emotions, I knew I'd be all right.

I'm a single mom of 2 rad AF adults and 1 super cute fur babe. Hospital administration by day, yoga instructor by night, travel junkie, shoe addict, foodie and avid reader in all the spaces in-between. I got my love of books from my mama and honestly can’t remember a time in my life where reading wasn’t a daily priority. I’m a sappy hopeless romantic who’s a sucker for 2nd chances, mature characters, and serendipitous connections. In an ideal world, you can find me on the beach with an icy cold adult libation in one hand and my Kindle in the other.
