Once again I am blown away by the writing talent of Tiffany Reisz. In the Lucky Ones, she concocts a tale woven together with secrets, lies, selfless love and a whole lot of heart. I love the suspenseful tone to this story and how even I was a little shocked and caught off guard as the plot began to unravel. But that is why I read Tiffany without question. I walk away from her books with the same feeling I get after finishing a Stephen King or Joe Hill novel. Total and utter satisfaction... and a little disturbed!

Tiffany Reisz is a wizard with the written word. Every time I finish one of her books, I want to spend time inside of her brain. She continues to write totally unique, troubling and beautiful stories. The Lucky Ones is no exception. It's a story about family and the secrets families keep to keep their loved ones safe and happy. Just when you think you know, you don't. Bow down to the queen, her genius with the words is unparalleled.

I'm always so excited to dive into another Tiffany Reisz adventure. Notice that I called it an adventure, not a book, because it is so much more. Everything is explained to you in detail. From the colors to the smells down to the simplest emotions of each character, you absolutely feel like you are there. That is the gift that Tiffany gives you when you're reading her words. The Lucky Ones gave all that to me and more! Family bonds can never be broken. Even when they're held together by false truths. This is now one of my favorites. [February 2018]

Publisher's Synopsis

They called themselves β€œthe lucky ones”

They were seven children either orphaned or abandoned by their parents and chosen by legendary philanthropist and brain surgeon Dr. Vincent Capello to live in The Dragon, his almost magical beach house on the Oregon Coast. Allison was the youngest of the lucky ones living an idyllic life with her newfound family...until the night she almost died, and was then whisked away from the house and her adopted family forever.

Now, thirteen years later, Allison receives a letter from Roland, Dr. Capello’s oldest son, warning her that their father is ill and in his final days. Allison determines she must go home again and confront the ghosts of her past. She’s determined to find out what really happened that fateful night -- was it an accident or, as she’s always suspected, did one of her beloved family members try to kill her?

But digging into the past can reveal horrific truths, and when Allison pieces together the story of her life, she’ll learns the terrible secret at the heart of the family she once loved but never really knew.

I read. I create. I get in trouble. That is me in a nutshell. I live in a snarky, artistic, eclectic world where BDSM and Dark Erotica are high on my reading list. I yearn for a really raw, gritty book where the lead guy/girl is more like a villain and I am left completely mindf*cked. The more the usual lines of morality are blurred, the better. I am an Alice in Wonderland Freak, an Edgar Allan Poe lover and an ocean addicted mermaid. I like originality when it comes to my books. The dirtier, the better. I am here to Discover, Share and Obsess. Join me, will you?
