I usually love every dark book Lily White writes and this one is no different. Callan and Lisbeth are the epitome of love/hate. Growing up in the environment they did and the lives they were forced into lays groundwork for such a volatile dynamic. When they meet later in life, it is very clear that resentment and hate is in abundance -"Have you ever fucked a man who couldn’t stand you?"- but underneath it all there is an insane amount of turmoil stemming from years of innocent feelings and lust. The buildup of chemistry between them is one of the sexiest I have read in a long time and once they give in to their feral needs, it explodes in every sense of the word -"We fought each other while we touched. We released our burdens." This story is sexual, gritty, violent and brutal in spots but I love a good toxic, impulsive love story!

About This Book
My skin felt a little too sticky with sweat when Callan turned his head my direction, the curve of his mouth promising unimaginable things.
Like the scent of him that I couldn’t escape, a deep musk that was a mix of exotic lands and foreign spice. I felt wrapped in its temptation while fear crawled in my belly. But that didn’t matter because, as my mind recalled the notes of his scent, my mouth went dry, my body becoming so painfully tight that I needed his touch to unlock it.
Her heightened pulse beat against my bones with every step we took toward the warehouse, her fear chasing a path up my spine and across my shoulders. I could feel her heated gaze on my back, and I swam in the electric fury I’d aroused in her when I warned her what fucking me would be like.
That hadn’t always been his name.
When we were children, he was nothing more than a servant boy in my family.
He was an amusement to me.
A weak soul who refused to fight back.
It was so easy to take advantage.
But then my father died, and I was stolen.
The family moved on without me.
Until I was penniless with no place to go.
I returned to the Rose Estate not knowing Callan was the head of it.
He’d honed his body and temper in the underground fighting ring.
The scars only made him more beautiful.
Now I’m trapped by a seductively dark man who has nothing but vengeance running through his veins.
I’d always wanted him to fight back, but you know what they say:
Be careful what you wish for.
