So technically this book is rated contemporary, but in all honesty I found it more NA (new adult) so I tagged it with both for this recommendation. That being said, Devney is a beautiful writer and no matter the genre, I will gobble up her words every single time! Timid is true to it's title... a heartwarming story about 2 very different people, afraid of stepping out of their comfort zones, who find their true and best selves through loving one another. In addition, it has some exciting and unexpected twists and turns that keep you engaged and rooting for their HEA along the way. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to the next few in this series.

It's easy to love someone when times are good. Real love is about holding on to one another when times aren't.

So you're worried you're going to leave me and break my heart, yet here you are, leaving me and breaking my heart. That doesn't make any sense.

Synopsis

Willa Doon has always been shy. Her quiet demeanor was something she’s always embraced. That is, until Jackson Page moves to town. The one man she desperately wants to take notice struggles to remember her name.

Year after year, Willa stands by, watching as the bartender slash playboy drowns his demons in beer and sex. Then one night, he shows up at her door, suddenly aware that the girl he’s seen around Lark Cove is now a beautiful woman.

Except what he doesn’t remember is that this visit isn’t his first. They spent a night together once before. A night he’s forgotten, thanks to a bottle of tequila.

A night that crushed a timid girl’s heart, and set a broken man on the path to heal them both.

I'm a mom of 2 rad AF adults, 1 fresh baby and a super cute fur babe. Hospital administration by day, yoga instructor by night, travel junkie, shoe addict, foodie and avid reader in all the spaces in-between. I got my love of books from my mama and honestly can’t remember a time in my life where reading wasn’t a daily priority. I’m a sappy hopeless romantic who’s a sucker for 2nd chances, mature characters, and serendipitous connections. In an ideal world, you can find me on the beach with an icy cold adult libation in one hand and my Kindle in the other.
