I’ve never read a book or series that’s based around an MC. I’m pretty much a lover of hot paranormal characters, and this book did a great job bringing the two elements together. Kane Tepes is one hot-ass alpha vampire who runs his MC with a cool head and cold heart. Cara Brahnam is the local detective investigating the club and the moment the two of them start trading sarcastic barbs, it’s on!

Another shiver passed through her as Kane moved from his sitting position and crawled in her direction. The man oozed sex. Of course, she'd never doubted that for a second. But the last few moments he spent touching her had laid proof to it in spades. She hadn't had an orgasm in... scratch that, had never had an orgasm that epic!

He wasn't done by a long shot, but he'd put the ball in her court. If she wanted more, then she'd have to ask for it. He watched as her breathing leveled. Her eyes stayed focused on his. He couldn't tell if she were ready to take flight or wanted a round two.

Vampirism had Cara Brahnam turning tail and leaving behind her life in Pleasant. Now, ten years later, she's back as lead detective and wants to see the person responsible for draining the women of Lane County brought to justice, no matter what deal the gang of miscreants has struck with the sheriff. Philly suburbanite, mom to an amazing teenager. (Of course he knows everything and isn’t sarcastic at all.) Lover of everything word related: books, music lyrics, poetry... I don’t discriminate! I discovered my love of reading as a 6th grader when I stumbled upon a fantasy series by Piers Anthony. It was then I realized I could be someone else, exploring new places and learning about new experiences. My reading preferences have changed throughout the years, and I’m more of a PNR junkie now with one-handed reading at the top of my list.
I believe with every fiber of my being that words hold the ultimate power. Words able to build someone up or leave them in shreds, so I try to always choose mine carefully.
Reading has brought me so much happiness, new friends, new adventures, love, and contentment. It’s the ultimate escape!
