- Part of a Series
This is me at 1:30am this morning as I finished Truth: …WHUUUUUUUUUT?
There was a point around when I was 2/3 of my way through the book when I tweeted to Aleatha Romig, “I’m at the point in Truth where I feel like yelling not-nice words at @AleathaRomig.” That was me being nice and not revealing my true emotion of hurty rampage.
As the follow-up book to Consequences, Truth has so much more to it that leaves more questions than answers. Since Ms. Romig admits she likes invoking emotion from her readers, she accomplished that goal times 1000 with me in reading Truth. A must read.
I’d have rather read this on Lake Como and in the hillsides of Italy than lying in my marital bed. Maggie and Michael may have been the main characters of the book, but Italy its own character that wrapped up these two in a wine-soaked blanket of lust.
Simply, I loved this book. I read The Marriage Bargain several months ago, and I don’t remember liking it as much as I like The Marriage Trap. It’s a sequel, but only in that there are some of the same characters. The writing seemed better, the sex scenes seemed more intense, and the characters had much more depth.
I triple-love when a series of books, movies, and TV shows gets better with age. The Up In The Air series is exactly why I continue with a series until the end: it gets so much better as things go along. I’m kind of shocked that Mr. Crazypants-Cavendish didn’t get himself committed (not a spoiler-alert), but I am surprised at how much I loved getting to the end of Grounded. Not because I wanted it to end, but because I love a nice story package, wrapped up and presented in a satisfying way. And we all know Mr. Crazypants-Cavendish is all about satisfaction.
I loved reading this from Ethan’s perspective, but his voice seemed to be too simplistic for a successful security mogul. But then again, I’m not a man and maybe that’s really how they think. He loves his girl and will let nothing hurt her, not even himself. I can’t wait to read the 3rd!
