    Marissa Says:
This was a quick and easy read, giving background to a couple of characters that eventually lead to the main heroine in Book 1.

The goddesses of this world are humanity’s protectors from demons, and one goddess decides to try and seduce a demon and trick him into giving her power over him. And of course, the demon chosen is their leader. What neither one of them expects, is an undeniable chemistry between them, as if they were fated to be together. It does not end in a cliffhanger, but there is obviously more world building and stories to be told about new characters.

Cain’s mouth was created for pleasure. Delicious, moist, wicked pleasure. She lapped at this tongue, inviting it to dance with hers.

His expression shifted to something unreadable, before a smile that could implode ovaries appeared. “When this case is over, little burglar, I think I’ll return to correct your misconception.”
    “What misconception?”
Cain leaned closer and lowered his voice. “The enjoyment of touch-feely.”

“Humans enjoy each other in so many interesting and bendy ways,” he added. “It was impossible not to pick up a few things watching people over the years.”
“You were a Peeping Tom. In this century, we’d lock you up for being a pervert.”
“I can find some handcuffs,” Cain said, his eyes dark.

    Angel Assassins Series Reading Order

    1. Angel Kin: Amazon
    2. Angel Lover: Release August 2014

    Marissa Says:
We meet the heroine as she’s stealing from a corrupt councilman, but she doesn’t think the night will end with her witnessing his murder. From there, it’s a frantic search to find help that will believe her story and protect her, and the police are definitely out since she’s been in trouble before.

Her brother happens to know of a group of men that protect innocents, and we meet The Bound Ones group. They are half-angel assassins, trying to protect humanity for Heaven. Katie thinks she saw Cain kill the councilman, and he works to not only clear his name, but protect her from the evil dark elf and his long lost twin, Abel. Both of them are trying to upset the balance of a good supernatural council and replace it with puppets that will work with the evil fallen angels. Unfortunately, Abel learns of Cain’s weaknesses, one of them being his growing love for Katie, and he exploits it to finally have a confrontation with his brother. Though there is no cliffhanger, the ending does set up the next book, which will be about one of Cain’s Bound brothers and the woman he falls in love with.

    “Zerach.”
The name slipped through her lips quietly, the sensation as hot
and sensuous as the man standing a few feet away in the shadows.
Though she couldn’t see him clearly, she would never mistake his
deep, sexy voice as belonging to anyone else. It stirred foreign
longings within her that left her breathless.

“Forever until the end of time. From this plane of existence
into the next, I shall always love and treasure you, and pray to the
Source that you will always return my love.”

    Marissa Says:
This is book one in a series, but each one will have a HEA per couple. The author will continue with her world building, character growth, and of course the main story arc. In the start of this series, we learn of 7 earth-bound archangels, and they consider themselves brothers even if not entirely related to one another. The story centers around Zerach and how his love for her his assistant has grown, but he’s not sure how to win her over because her family does not approve of the man. No one knows him and his brothers are angels, or that they go out hunting demons that slip through rifts in the world, usually after being summoned by humans.

Isadora has secretly been in love with Zerach, but she is being pressured by family to marry another man so he will save their business. We see how conflicted she is, because she does not love this man nor feel safe with him, and though Zerach and his brothers are rich, she feels awkward asking him for help instead. Though there is suspense and action, it revolves around Isadora and Zerach finally giving in to their feelings, which include some steamy scenes. And of course, Zerach and his brothers have to save her from the bad guys towards the end, but the build up is done gradually over the course of the story and it all ends satisfactorily. I can’t wait for the next brother’s story.

    About Marissa

MarissaMy first foray into the Romance genre came my freshman year in high school English, where the teacher had us all read books from several different genres. So, my first book boyfriend and PnR introduction, if you will, was Richard Merlin, from The Wizard of Seattle. Prior to that, I’d only read Fantasy or Sci-fi, with a little teen horror thrown in for angst. I was reading The Vampire Diaries decades before it was even a twinkle in the eyes of the producers. Now, I am addicted to PnR, always reading at least one book a week about vamps, wolves, angels, demons, Fae, or overall magic. Follow me on Goodreads
