Recommendation

When this series started, I knew Russell would be my favorite of the bunch. I was not disappointed! He’s a broody, independent caveman who wants nothing more than to take care of Abby. His dominant tendencies mixed perfectly with Abby’s virginity. Weird? Yep, but as usual, Tessa makes it work. Awesomely.
I love a virgin-meets-protector story as much as the next girl. Leave it up to Tessa to strengthen the virgin in a modern, evolved, intelligent woman. Tessa’s virgin-meets-protector story exceeds all expectations and even pulled my (ice cold) heart strings!

Excerpts

"I should be zipping you back into your girl next door dress and sending you home with those cupcakes." Both sides of her bra were shoved aside, exposing her peaked breasts. Russell muttered something that sounded like little peaches, before his hands closed around them and lifted, squeezed, massaged. "Instead of sending you home, I'm going to find out what a virgin tastes like."
"Yes," he grated. "That's how I make you come. Hard as fuck when you're in my bed. That's the way I do it."
"The ache is down low. If you want to fix it, get on your knees and go find it."

Publisher synopsis

Construction worker Russell Hart has been head-over-work boots for Abby Sullivan since the moment he laid eyes on her. But he knows a classy, uptown virgin like her could never be truly happy with a rough, blue-collar guy like him. If only she'd stop treating him like her personal hero—a role he craves more than oxygen—maybe he could accept it.

With the future of her family's hedge fund on her shoulders, Abby barely has time to sleep, let alone find love. And her best friend Russell acting like a sexy, overprotective hulk any time their Super Group goes out in public definitely isn't helping her single status. But after a near-tragedy lands Russell in her bed for the night, Abby's suddenly fantasizing about what he looks like shirtless. Chest hair and tattoos—who knew?

As Russell struggles to keep Abby at a safe distance, she begins to see through his tough-talking exterior—and acknowledge her own feelings. Now she's ready to turn the friend-zone into foreplay…and make him lose control.
