Recommendation

This is a very intricate story with a few plot twists and a whole lot of action! Nicola really knows how to write a gripping story line that flows seamlessly yet leaves so much to the imagination. I read this book slowly because there is a A LOT going on but trust me, this slow burner is filled with fast paced adventure and suspense filled romance. If you are looking for an “insta love” connection, you will not find it between Lincoln & Kate. There is a lot of raw, ugly situations that go down before you even get to the heat between them but once you do, WOW! There is no denying their lust for one another and the way it is written hits you right in your lady parts! There is definitely a darker, gritty undertone in this book as far as trigger warnings go like kidnapping and abuse but the fight for survival is what made this story so compelling to me. It offers you a little bit of everything and for me, it doesn’t get much better.

Excerpts

He licks his thumb and uses it to circle my nipple, which hardens without my consent, betraying me.
"Please," he repeats. "Please… more?"
Leaning closer, I part my lips to tell her it's time to go, only the words get trapped between our mouths when I crush mine to hers. She tastes divine. Kissing her ignites an insatiable hunger that I don't think I'll ever be able to satisfy. My other arm wraps around her back and pulls her impossibly closer, crashing our bodies together. I hold her tight like she might blow away if I don't, lost from my life forever.
" Holy fuck!" I hiss into the air when he places a chaste, provoking kiss over my clit. There's no pressure there, and I need it. I crave it with everything that I am.

Publisher synopsis

Crime families and mob wars only exist in the movies. Betrayal. Violence. Murder. They don’t happen to ordinary people.

Right?

Wrong.

For Lincoln Hollis, this is his world, and there isn’t a clapperboard in sight. A trained killer and advocate of justice, he’s been sent to unravel the neat little bow tied around Kate Fletcher’s perfect life, exposing her to the brutal truths she’s been so meticulously shielded from, before delivering the ultimate punishment for her family’s sins.

There’s just one problem. They’re his family’s sins, too, and he must make a choice.

Who will he say goodbye to first?
