Recommendation

I found this book to be a captivating tale of intrigue in the vampire-human world. There isn’t a lot of smut in here, although the unresolved sexual tension could be cut with a knife in certain scenes, so read this one when you are in the mood for a deep plot. The story is told in a series of flashbacks mixed in with “present day” scenes, and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Vinx is wonderful as a heroine – beautifully flawed and super easy to relate to, while simultaneously being a powerful, badass bitch. I highly recommend this book, and am looking forward to the next one!

Excerpts

Lips parting in a breathy sigh, I tilted my face to his. His fingernails dragged down my back, seizing my waist with a firm, yet gentle, insistence. Pulling me to him, our bodies molding together, he paused to breathe me in deep. Nothing except a thin veil of sizzling desire separated us, our gazes locked in seductive invitation.
Mouth falling open, a husky moan rumbled from his chest. I sealed my lips around the wound, drinking in one deep pull, then another.
I closed the space between us, and the rise of my breasts brushed his chest. Tipping my head back to give him a grand glimpse of the money shot, I dropped fang. Body rigid with desire, the breath caught in his throat. "Vincenza," he murmured, stare locked on the curve of my mouth.

Publisher synopsis

Political propaganda would have us believe vampires are our friends. Fanged teddy bears misunderstood thanks to archaic lore. Activists picket for them to be welcomed into our society. They claim vamps don't kill. They preach we are safe. They … are dead wrong. One year ago a hive slaughtered my family and left me for dead. Found by a team of scientists with their own agenda, I was forged into an unstoppable weapon. I possess their strength, with none of their weaknesses. I can move among them free from their crippling hunger. I am their greatest threat. Armed with this arsenal, vengeance will feed my desire to penetrate the seedy underbelly of their fetishized lifestyle and expose them for the monsters they truly are."The writing is brilliant along with the plot. It was a different twist from all the other vampire novels I've read and it was fantastic." – USA Today Bestselling Author, A.M. Hargrove
