Recommendation
Tracie Delaney has done it again in this second in her Brook Brothers series. She has delivered Calum, a hot, filthy-mouthed book boyfriend (who is really an asshole that gave me the most delicious love/hate feelings while I was reading) and Laurella, a strong, successful heroine. She has added some fun supporting characters, and a story with enough suspense to make it impossible to put down. The romance is off-the-charts hot, and the story is riveting. I cannot wait to devour the rest of this series!!!
Excerpts
His hand dipped between their bodies, and he pinched her clit hard. It was all she needed to tumble over into orgasm. She threw her head back, incoherent mumblings falling from her lips. Calum's panting grew in volume as he took control of the speed and angle. Then he groaned loudly.
Before Laurella could say anything, his mouth crashed down on hers. He was already hard. Whether that was from desire or anger, Laurella couldn't know. Whichever of those emotions was most prevalent, it didn't matter, because she melted beneath his kiss.
Calum lifted her, hooking her legs over his hips. He pressed her up against the door he'd slammed shut less than two minutes before. He crashed his mouth down on hers, hard, and thrust his tongue inside.
Publisher synopsis
She’s trouble—with a capital T. Not that it matters. If she wants a war, she’ll get one.
Calum Brook is happy with his lot until Laurella Ricci, a smart, sassy know-it-all bursts into his perfect life and blows it apart.
Sure, he’s territorial. He’s earned the right to be. This pretender might think she has the upper hand, but he will come out the victor.
Laurella has spent the last six years clawing her way up the corporate ladder. Her latest challenge is exactly what she needs to forget her past, and Calum Brook, with his runway-model good looks and hostile attitude isn’t going to chase her away.
She’s survived worse than him… a lot worse. She’ll weather this storm too.
Let the battle commence!
