Recommendation
One of the things I loved about this story was Shari wrote half in the past, so we could see how Layne and Dani first met, fell in love and created the perfect family. Then we saw the current issues, watched Dani and Layne fight for the hope that a cure will occur. This story was definitely more character driven than I’ve read recently and it was a wonderful change-up. You will fall in love with Layne, the hot, sweet musician who fell in love with a single mother who did everything in his power to prove he was the man for her and that he would never give up on their love. There may be a few wet eyes, but I promise you will not be disappointed with this romance’s ending.
Excerpts
"We need to find a way to live again. We need to live like tomorrow is the end. We could all be gone tomorrow, and we don't want our last day to be like this."
Life has come and gone, difficulties have molded us, and age has taken us for a ride, but one thing that has never changed is the way he kisses me. It's still like I'm the only one in the world who understand him, who sees him, who lives by his words, even if he doesn't believe them anymore.
The beauty of being with the same man for twelve years is never having to spell out what makes me tick. Layne knows every move I crave, each touch I silently plead for. He knows my body better than I do.
Publisher synopsis
VOTED A TOP READ OF 2019!
"You will lose your memory."
That's what a doctor told me at just twenty-nine years old.
My headaches and exhaustion weren't from overexertion like I thought.
It was more.
A lot more.
Despite my unimaginable challenges,
I found love at a time I needed it most.
Layne, a rising star and popular frontman,
was unknowingly singing life into my soul through his allusive lyrics.
I lived and breathed for the mesmeric sound of his voice.
Kismet led us to a kind of love anyone would die for.
However, Layne shouldn't be stuck loving me after I begin to forget him.
We will once again be strangers, separated by a crowd.
I can no longer promise him a future like the one he vowed to me.
Layne is determined to help me get better.
I'm determined to make him see past my illness.
The outcome … to be determined.
