Recommendation
The Summer of Us is another beautiful love story by Melanie Moreland. Linc and Sunny are the epitome of a second chance love story. Very Romeo & Juliet in their own ways. Their relationship was born in secret and left to derail in large part to Linc’s father. Fast forward 10 years, both are very much more aware of themselves and their feelings. Their paths cross again, and no amount of meddling can break them apart this time. Sunny became her own little powerhouse of confidence and Linc grew into a strong, assertive man. There is no denying the heated chemistry between these two and Melanie gives their emotional filled journey the justice it so greatly deserves.
Excerpts
The next thing I knew, her arms were around my neck and her lips on mine. Shock rendered me still for a moment, then every sense in my body came alive. I dragged her tight to my chest, kissing her like a starving man who had been offered the feast of a lifetime.
She smiled as I kissed her.
And I was finally home.
I want to kiss you. Taste you. Everywhere—for hours. Reacquaint myself with every inch of you.
Publisher synopsis
She was the light in my dark life. The sunshine that warmed me and made me smile.
We had one summer. One perfect summer, until the day it ended.
Years later, she walked back into my life. Older. Sadder. More beautiful than ever.
How can I prove to her that summer was real?
How do I make her see the boy who loved her then, still loves her now?
How do we get back to the summer when we were us?
