Recommendation
I read K.I. Lynn because she always delivers a 1-2 punch when it comes to dark romance. I finish her books and feel as though I have been knocked on my ass, in a sex filled daze that leaves me begging for more. Abducted combines sex trafficking and the mafia, creating an underground world filled with ugly actions and gritty, provocative undertones. This is a down and dirty story. It paints some very harsh realities surrounding Ari & Domenico’s “relationship”. If you’ve read K.I. Lynn before, then this should not surprise you. The possessive sex is beyond insane – “Every twitch could be felt, every groan drawing out my orgasm. He kissed and licked the spot where he’d marked me as he regained his breath” -and I loved that it truly came from a place of love. Domenico is a powerful, alpha male and his obsession with Ari – “My name is Domenico, and I’m your new god” – makes her desire for him overwhelming at times. He is ruthless and wild but then again, have you ever met a tamed beast?
Excerpts
A shiver moved down my spine, sending heat through my fire-laden limbs. There was something else swirling in their depths that made my body sing. A heat that lit me up. My mind focused on that. On my captor’s long, slender fingers. My own danced across my skin as I wondered how they would feel, pulling from the few memories I had. If it was anything like his gaze, I shuddered at the hard, appreciative, and power-filled feeling.
I wanted it.
I wanted him.
To take me, to fuck me with all the power that flowed through him.
The head of his cock pressed against me and then he thrust in. I cried out, revealing at the very least that no matter how much I wanted to protest, I was also desperate to feel more of his brand of savagery. After all, I was already wet, ready for him from only a heated gaze and a few verbal volleys. With just a few strokes he was slamming all the way in, and my eyes were rolling back.
Publisher synopsis
The mafia never lets you go.
I thought I was safe, free, but I never expected to find myself locked in a cage.
I’m in his territory. His prison.
The beast.
A fate worse than death awaits me if I can’t get away, so when the opportunity of salvation presents itself I grab it, even if I’m not sure I can trust the hand I’m holding.
The only way out is through, exposing secrets and spilling blood.
Things aren’t how they appear. Nobody is what they seem.
Not even me.
**Due to the dark and explicit nature of this book, it is recommended for mature audiences only as some scenes may be particularly disturbing. There are triggers.**
