Ekko Rose is no stranger to struggle. Even though she's experienced more than her fair share of hardship, she has dreams she wants to fulfill. But when another stroke of bad luck leaves her homeless, Ekko's only option is to focus on survival.

Dominick 'Dom' Moore has had his eyes on Ekko ever since he saved her life several months ago. He kept his distance then because she was attached to another man. Now, seeing her living out of her car, Dom resolves to help her get back on her feet.

When Dom approaches Ekko, she wrestles with knowing her rightful place in the world and desperately wanting to latch onto something better.

Just as the pair fall hard for one another, Ekko's streak of misfortune delivers one more blow.

With their relationship thrown into a pit of despair and hopeless desire, Dom must crack the case he's been trying to solve for weeks.

Because if he can't, Ekko might be lost to him forever.

AK Evans is a new-to-me author and her heroes are so swoony and alpha. I liked that Dom had saved Ekko once, and from that moment on he watched over her and waited for her to be single before making his move. There’s just something I enjoy about series set within a security company, a bunch of tough men who find the woman of their dreams and fall hard. Throw in some suspense and hot sex and you have a winning combo for me. Ekko had a hard life until Dom showed up and he does everything in his power to make her happy, safe, and feel loved.

A taste

Dom kissed his way down my body, his mouth eventually finding its way between my thighs. One lick through my wetness and I was gone.
"You're my future, Ekko. No matter what that brings, I'll be happy as long as I've got you."
