Recommendation

Eve really turns the whole “scorned lover” trope on its head with this book and I loved it! Action, suspense, twists, witty dialogue, a second chance at love for a spy and their love/hate interactions were hilarious. It was funny seeing the guy getting his panties all twisted when the woman he loved turns out to be a spy and not the soft-spoken model he fell in love with, and then watching him fall in love with the real Francesca, realizing he likes the real version so much better. But of course, he can’t give in to her again! And Francesca must not fall for Darren’s pretty face because her mission to protect him is more important than stroking his male ego . . . and other male things. I think this is my favorite of the series so far, except I said that after every one of the books. Eve’s characters are so unique and surprising, you never expect their reactions or some of the things they say.

Excerpts

"The last time I tortured someone, it was with my tongue, and as I recall, you screamed for more."
She took her time, grabbing him, loving how his cock always pulsed when she first wrapped her fingers around it. A little "Hello, and thanks for touching me."
"I'm sorry." "I'll forgive you" – she lowered her voice to a husky whisper – "if you do that thing with your tongue."

Publisher synopsis

The employees of Bad Boy Inc. are gathering for a celebration. The bride sported the latest in bulletproof corsets. The groom wore a gun. The guests came armed for action. But the cake blew up before they could eat it. As for the honeymoon, it’s going to be a mad chase across the globe dodging bullets and bombs to find the culprit who wants them all dead.

Once upon a time, Darren fell for a woman while in the world’s most romantic city. In full view of the Eiffel tower he had his heart torn from his chest and stomped on.

Time for revenge. Francesca played Darren for a fool, but he won’t let it happen again. Now that he’s found her, she’s going to pay for her actions. Problem is she’s getting under his skin. Rubbing against his skin. Making him remember those Paris days and hotter nights.

Before he can decide if he’s crazy enough to fall in love with her again, everything explodes after the wedding.
