Recommendation
Callie and Reed are the epitome of young love. The innocence. The desperation. The unknown. This book delivers on every facet of emotional warfare. Reed wants nothing more than to be with her but stupid mistakes and senseless acts seem to get in his way. The tug of war between them seems endless at times and so much deeper than that of two teenagers on the cusp of adulthood. Callie knows what her heart wants but Mitch, Reeds older brother, seems to constantly try to throw her off his path. God, he enraged me. There are a couple of times in this book you will just wanna shake the characters and yell to them that they should know better but there was something very satisfying about watching it play out the way it did. Cannot wait for the second part of this Duet! 📕🧨👏🏻🔥
Excerpts
I need her. I’m tired of her not seeing what’s right in front of her. Of course, I want to be her friend, but I want more. Right now, it feels like every aching minute I’ve spent wanting to make her mine is barreling down on me. I’m literally aching for her right now. My cock is hard as a rock—so hard that it’s painful.
I can’t hear her laughter now, but I do in my head. Her eyes sparkle. God she’s beautiful. I ache for her and not for sex.
He leans in, his arm snaking around to pull me into his body, enveloping me in his warmth and heat. He nuzzles my neck, kissing my skin in a heated path that I feel deep inside of me. “If we go any slower, Bluebird, we’ll die of old age before we get a chance to get to the good stuff,” he purrs against my ear. His words rob my breath and make my heart stutter in my chest.
Publisher synopsis
My love for Callie Street was like a bad country song.
Boy meets girl.
Boy falls in love with girl.
Girl belongs to another guy.
Callie was never mine—she couldn’t be.
She belonged to my brother.
It was his ring on her finger.
I hated him for that.
Sometimes I hated her.
With time, old flames eventually perish, leaving ashes in their wake.
But the thing about ashes?
If they catch fire, they’ll destroy anything in its path.
One forbidden night, Callie and I gave in to temptation.
We burned white-hot—an explosion that obliterated everything around us.
