INSTANT USA Today Bestseller!.From Wall Street Journal, USA Today Bestselling and RITA® Award-winning Author Kennedy Ryan, comes a captivating second chance romance like only she can deliver…

The boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can't have…

Dig a little and you'll find photos of me in the bathtub with Ezra Stern.
Get your mind out of the gutter. We were six months old.
Pry and one of us might confess we saved our first kiss for each other. The most clumsy, wet, sloppy . . . spectacular thirty seconds of my adolescence.
Get into our business and you'll see two families, closer than blood, torn apart in an instant.
Twenty years later, my "awkward duckling" best friend from childhood, the boy no one noticed, is a man no one can ignore.
Finer. Fiercer. Smarter.
Taken.
Tell me it's wrong.
Tell me the boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can't have.
When we find each other again, everything stands in our way–secrets, lies, promises.
But we didn't come this far to give up now.
And I know just the move to make if I want to make him mine.

Kennedy Ryan writes powerful stories about powerful characters that always have some kind of powerful underlying social/emotional messages, and Queen Move is no exception! Sometimes a second chance romance isn’t so cut and dry… time and life change you, connections and obligations are complicated and often messy. This story is right up my ally! It gives a perfect balance of sweet and innocent flashback history, serendipitous attachment, modern day angst and strife and fiery adult heat that make up the reason I read romance novels. Add in a great starring and support cast and what you’ve got is a book I can happily and enthusiastically recommend! Although Queen Move is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone, as I haven’t read the others in the series yet either.

A taste

“My father always used to say whatever you do, be excellent…Whatever you do, consider others. Big moves make big waves. Do big things. Make big waves.”
“They diminish us enough without you making yourself small. You descend from queens. And I’m not talking about going all the way back to Africa. I’m talking about your grandmother who put her life on the line as a freedom rider. Your aunt who was a pastor when they said women couldn’t be and led one of the largest congregations in the South. Your great-great grandmother, who, with a sixth-grade education, opened her own restaurant and became one of the wealthiest women in this city.”
It’s the kind of contentment only found when you stand still. When you stop running long enough to run into yourself-to collide with your future and release the past.
