Recommendation

Siiiiiiiggggghhhhhh. I love this series. Every book has been better than the one that came before it (except for The Saint, that’s the best book ever written). The Priest was a little different, but no less amazing. It reads more like a crime novel/mystery than erotica. Oh, don’t worry, there’s still plenty of kink, but it’s like a secondary character instead of the main plot. Reisz’s flawless writing is part of what makes this book so enjoyable. She has the gift of storytelling and you will be glued to the pages from start to finish. The pace, the wit, the heartbreak are all on point. I’m still riding the high and I’m sure I’ll have a book hangover for days to come.

Excerpts

Screaming was discouraged…but not forbidden. This was the French Quarter. These things happened.
"You're a dominatrix dating a priest and a French farmer. You got a dog that worships you on command. You got a witch stalking you. You have your own dungeon on the third floor of a bank building. Lady, I hate to tell you this…but you are one of the kooks."
"Eleanor, you really should know better by now," he said. "Never flirt with a sadist in a well-stocked dungeon."

Publisher synopsis

When a New Orleans parish priest is found dead of an apparent suicide, the police see no reason to investigate. Private detective Cyrus Tremont knows a cover-up when he sees it, however. A former cop, he’s seen it all…or so he thought.

Clues point him in the direction of Nora Sutherlin, an erotic romance writer who moonlights as a dominatrix. Together, they form an unlikely bond built on their shared need for justice.

As Cyrus is drawn deeper into Nora’s underground world of pleasure and pain, what lines will he cross to discover the truth about the priest? And what will he and Nora do with the truth once they find it?

"The Priest" is the beginning of a new era for Reisz’s Original Sinners series, and the perfect jumping-on point for new readers.
