It’s no secret that Mia Sheridan is my favorite author and I’m her #1 fan, lol ❤🥇 What you may not know is that I have a secret obsession with true crime suspense/thriller, serial murder podcasts. So when my Mia writes a story that combines both my love of romance and suspense that reads like true crime, it filled my dark little twisted, hopelessly romantic heart with SO MUCH JOY!
First of all this book was set in Reno, NV. The sweet little armpit of America, that I am all too familliar with, so off the bat I felt connected and invested. Secondly, this book sucks you in and has you guessing the plot, then second guessing yourself, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat. You get the idea, just the way a suspense/thriller is supposed to! I seriously couldn’t put it down and finished it in a day. Thirdly, the way Mia develops characters is like no other author I read (which is why she’s my favorite). You’ll love them, you’ll hate them, you’ll empathize with them and root for them (even the killer). And lastly, I’ve been on a social media hiatis for the past few months, but felt compelled to log back in to tell you to go READ THIS BOOK!!! You can thank me later 😉 KUDOS Mia on another fantastic release 👏👏👏

Runaway Groomsman by Meghan Quinn
Meghan Quinn is on my VERY SHORT list of must read authors. Her stories and character development are always well written, funny and endearing, with a hint of that kismet, everything happens for a reason undertone to them. This book is that and so much more!
It deals with loss, betrayal, familial obligation and navigating a full gamut of relationship dynamics. The romance is a slow burn in the most realistic way. I feel like I read these characters grow up emotionally with every page I turned. If you’ve ever dealt with an aging family member with health concerns, this book will hit you in the feels SO HARD. And if you’ve ever been cheated on by a friend or a lover, the trauma responses these characters experience will pull at your heartstrings as well. All of that with a side of Grumpy Grandpa, Crazy BFF, Gay Dads, and Kooky Townsfolk where the Mayor is a cat…what more could you ask for?!?
I love love loved this story and I know you will too. ❤❤❤ -
Stop Ghosting Me by Tara Sivec
I LOVE a good holiday romance and in case you didn’t know Halloween is my FAVORITE! ❤ This one is just in time for a cozy and spooky evening, passing out candy and warming up your heart (and your lady bits) with a fantastic, laugh-out-loud, friends to lovers story by the QUEEN of Rom-Com herself, Tara Sivec. 👑 If you don’t LOL reading this book something is seriously wrong with you and you should get that looked at by a professional, because the pranks are EPIC and belly achingly HILARIOUS! I fell in love with the heroine in the first few pages. The quirky town and the supporting cast are charming, unexpected, hysterical in their own right, and add so much to this story you’ll want them all to be your own family and besties. And the broody hero, SIGH… is just perfectly frustrating, possessive and clueless enough to keep things interesting. All that being said, this ain’t your average sticky sweet Hallmark/Lifetime tale. If you like a good rom-com, trust me and pick up this book ASAP and have a Happy Halloween! 🎃

Northern Stars by Brittainy Cherry
Let me start by saying that Brittainy Cherry is an automatic one-click for me. Her stories evoke a depth of emotion that very few authors can dig out of me. Northern Stars… sigh, this book was perfect. I don’t know what else to say besides that. It takes you on a journey of friendship, adolescent torment, self loathing, self reflection and eventually self acceptance, social pressures, family pressures, broken family, healed family, lost family, found family, love, love and more love. Ahhhhh… it was everything. These characters went through it all! And they were REAL people. I don’t care that the synopsis say’s “Hollywood’s biggest star”… Aiden was/is the geeky adopted boy next door who just longed to be loved. And Hailee was/is that charming, spunky, curvy, self-conscious girl in HS who never really fit in. I loved them. I saw myself in their struggles. I rooted for them, cried for them, raged for them, and cheered for them to win. If you are a fan of CoHo’s earlier YA/NA series you will LOVE this book. This was the final book in the Compass Series, and although you definitely don’t need to read the others to read this book, if you HAVE read the others this one just seals the package in the most perfect and complete bow 🎀 Do yourself a favor and read it, but prepare yourself for all the feels. All of them.

Thirst Trap by Chelle Sloan
I have a confession to make… I don’t do the TikTok. I guess I’m old fashion in the sense that book cover models are all the thirst trap I need in my life, lol! That being said, I’ve heard about how funny Chelle Sloan’s BookTok is and had to see for myself what the hype was about so I picked up this novella and YEEHAW what a fun little meet-cute story! Despite being a little over 100 pages it was a well developed book, it had great leading and supporting characters and a unique and believable plot. It was fun, flirty and so HOT HOT HOT it had me rethinking my social subscriptions and day dreaming about my upcoming bachelorette party in Mexico, hahaha😉 Pick up this novella if you need a fun little pick me up, one-handed, one day read!

Stuck with the Billionaire by Georgia Coffman
I’m gonna be honest here, I typically stay away from billionaire stories. I had my fill years ago and they all started to sound very similar, so I basically lost my interest in them. BUT, when I saw this new-to-me author had a brothers best friend angle (which is a trope that I love), I thought what the heck, let’s give it a try…and I’m SO GLAD I DID! Most billionaire books are full of pomp and privilege, but this one had a realism and down to earth quality that drew me in and had me invested. I loved the witty banter, the palatable chemistry, the angsty family tension, and the underlying serendipitous circumstances. It was a quick page turner that had me giggling out loud and left a smile on my face 😊 Pick up this book for a cozy, fall, cuddle up and feel good read.
I’m really looking forward to reading more from this author and I’m super stoked that I get to meet her at Shameless 2022! -
Checkmate by Angela Taylor
I’ve been on a RomCom binge. With the state of life, the world, etc, I just want to inhale all of the happy literary feels right now. This book was such a light and cute read! A perfect pick me up for my weary, drained soul. It had a little bit of everything I love about reading romance… a touch of serendipity, a slow burn with scorching chemistry, a unique trope, meddling supporting characters, laugh out loud shenanigan’s, and a heart warming HEA. What more could you want?!? That being said, I’m looking forward to reading more from this author and meeting her at Shameless Book Con 2022! ❤

The Misfits by Shandi Boyes
Who knew you could find love in a psych ward? Megan and Dexter‘s descent into madness together is a journey that I won’t soon forget. They are the definition of meant to be, in the most disturbed way possible. Imagine Bonnie and Clyde but so much more twisted. I knew Dexter had a plan in the beginning but I don’t think he realized just how intoxicated he would become with Megan. It was like watching someone slowly drown and have no intention of being saved. At one point you’re honestly questioning who is more psychotic. The twists are what got me. I thought I had it figured out and then BOOM, something would happen and I’d be in complete shock. Even though it was such a mindfuck of a story, I loved the way he was obsessed with her and how possessive he was. I’m a sucker for a crazy alpha! 🔥 “She’s wearing panties. If we had fucked, they’d be shredded on the floor like her dress.” 🔥 Shandi, you blew my mind with this intense thriller! Well done!!!

Waging War by Loren Beeson
I happened to stumble upon Loren after the release of her first book, and I knew as soon as I finished, she would be a #1click author for me moving forward. When the Betting On Love series came out, I was immediately enthralled with Jack and Cassidy’s story, and my love affair with it continued after finishing Derrick and Juliana‘s book. Now, here I find myself, at the end of such an amazing series, all in my feels for Ben and Hazel. I SAVORED this book. Every page. Every word. It was an epic conclusion for perfectly crafted characters and the love that grew between them. Ben and Hazel’s story is so raw and intense, and I really attribute so much of that to Hazel. She was such a fierce, passionate female lead, and her character stayed true to form from start to finish. I loved watching her blossom into her softer side with Ben. The storyline had everything the other two books before it had-including a suspenseful plot and hot, complex sexual dynamics. This series could not have ended more perfectly. I’m so sad to see it go, but so grateful that I discovered it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I Know What Love Is by Whitney Bianca
This is NOT a love story. There are some major triggers, first and foremost, rape. If you can separate fantasy from reality and love a good disturbingly dark read, this is a must. I found myself going between shock and intrigue throughout this entire book. Joan experiences ones worst nightmare yet somewhere along the line the beauty falls for the beast. Or is she just brainwashed? There are some crazy twists and turns and you’ll be on the edge of your seat til the very end! Definitely one that you finish reading and think “what the hell is wrong with me??”… but in a good way! 😉

Love On Replay by Monica Walters
Sheldon and Anissa’s story is as beautiful as it is raw. Watching two, mature people come together to find some sort of normalcy again after loss and trauma was inspiring and uplifting. It was perfectly paced, each one taking their time to let their guards down, really driving home just how scarred they both were. I love their hesitation. It felt so real. It also made their chemistry unbelievably sexy and natural. I honestly can’t wait to read more of the Berotte family and see how both their worlds – and families – collide.

Doing It Right by Harloe Rae
Harloe Rae is normally a no brainer #1click read for me and the story of Mason and Presley is the perfect example as to why. It is sweet without being cheesey and has some insanely steamy moments that interlace perfectly with the sweet nostalgia that surrounds these two. The angst that comes with second chance romance is my favorite kind and I loved how it really seemed like no time had passed between them. Their bodies, like their minds, remembered each other upon first touch and it even made ME feel butterflies deep within. Archie – Presley’s son – really steals the show here so be prepared to feel the swoon on all levels!

One Bossy Proposal by Nicole Snow
I’m not sure who I consider the alpha in this book, Lincoln or Dakota! Both went toe to toe with their quick wit and fiery banter. From their first encounter, you just know these two are going to EXPLODE once they cross that line of boss and employee. They each come from traumatic pasts and they are triggered throughout the story but, in the end, they each just needed someone who understood them. There’s definitely layers of angst and humor which mix perfectly into the sexy buildup that is just waiting to implode. I read this story in just a few hours because once the tension began to ignite between them, I needed to get to the heat! 🔥

Last Resort by K Bromberg
Another winner from K. Bromberg! Last Resort is the first in a series about three brothers, triplets to be exact. This story follows Callahan and Sutton who are thrown into working together after a ridiculously hot one-night stand. What could possibly go wrong? I loved how this story progressed like a real relationship would, without any over-the-top angst or crazy surprised. Just two people getting over the lust to discover real feelings. That being said, the sexual tension is off the charts and it explodes in the best ways!

Her Villains by Jade Presley
Like many, I’ve had my own fantasies about some Marvel characters- *cough* Loki *cough*-so as soon as I read the synopsis of this book I knew it was a must read for me. Let me tell you, this book took every fantasy you may have had about Thor & Loki and brought it to life. It’s a reverse harem which leaves very little to the imagination and I devoured every word of it. Cari rocks their worlds and finds herself quickly caught up in the lust of multiple men. The sex scenes are 🔥 hot and intense – “I wind her long hair around my right hand, tightening and tugging until her chins tips up. “Eyes up,” I demand, and she obeys” – and the imagery Jade creates is electrifying [lighting ⚡️handcuffs, y’all ]!! Read now, thank me later. 😛

Dating is for Suckers by Vivian Murdoch
This was a quick, spicy vampire read that focuses around Lissa, Joe, and Rory. I loved the underground fantasy world and the plot around how the three characters all intertwine kept me on my toes. Lissa and Rory have an immediate attraction but the history with Joe is hard to deny. Vampire romance always have a lust filled ambiance to them because they’re created in the shadows and born from dark desires and thirst. Vivian did a fantastic job at creating a decadently sexy storyline, showcasing the wants and needs of the characters while not straying away from the deep, true feelings between them.

Just Hold On by Kitty Cox
Cowboys, bull riding, MFM, MM, and an action filled competitive world lays the foundation of what promises to be an enthralling new series by Kitty Cox. I love that this story has a bad ass female lead whose growth is beautiful to watch so far. The writing is so vivid and fluid that at times it felt like I was watching a miniseries play out in my head. I could see it all. JD, Ty and Tanner seem promising and I was sad that we just began to touch the surface of the dynamics brewing between them all. Holy hotness! 🔥🧨🧨🔥 I know this series is going to be explosive hot as we move forward!
-
A Pretty Fixation by Symone West
I have to say this book was way more intense than I expected it to be! After reading the synopsis I figured it was a lovestruck boy chasing after a clueless girl but this love story is much deeper than that. It borderlines on stalker territory in some moments and I loved every minute of it. The majority of the book is Caleb trying to convince Jordyn that they made a very deep connection at one point and while she is hesitant in the beginning to let him in, his persistence eventually pays off. I was so anxious to see if the soul touching chemistry he spoke about was a figment of his imagination or if they really were destined to be together. Symone does a fantastic job of weaving together angsty, emotional buildup and sizzling moments of lust and passion. This book has many layers and you’ll enjoy all of them!
-
Lifeblood by Amara Rae
Amara really blew me away with this fantasy romance. She just brushes the surface of the dark world of immortals in this first book and it honestly left me salivating for the next piece of this series. Colette and Makhi are two characters that will make your head spin. If you enjoy the paranormal world, the
warlock and a witch dynamic is fascinating. The heat and toe curling draw they have touches on forbidden and complex. There are layers to this underworld that are violent and very dark but I am dying to know what the purpose is and how it all comes together. Definitely extremely engaging! -
Devil’s Pawn by Natasha Knight
First, if you aren’t a fan of dark, twisted, non-consensual stories, stop right now. Natasha weaves some of the most disturbing webs you will ever find yourself caught in and Jericho and Isabelle’s dysfunctional tale is as harsh as they come. Revenge leads people to do crazy things and Jericho finds himself wanting to make Carlton pay but it’s unfortunately at the expense of an innocent woman. You’ll hate Jericho. Like, despise him. But Isabelle is no fool and in her fight you’ll begin to see the light break through the darkness that surrounds him. I can already tell this series is going to be so 🔥🔥🔥!

Adore Her by Kate Hunt
Even though this is a short quick read I loved the characters and the story line. The forbidden love aspect is there as Cora is Jude‘s little sister and Maddox is his best friend. There’s dirty thoughts and stolen glances and the two try so hard during the “boys weekend” to deny themselves of the chemistry they both feel. Cora is a thick, beautiful woman and I adored that Maddox couldn’t get enough of every inch of her. This really turned out to be a delicious little treat.
-
In Too Deep by E.R. Hendricks
Shaw and Aleice’s short story is smoking hot 🔥🔥🔥 and full of some very spicy moments! The age gap isn’t terrible and I actually really loved how domineering he was because of his background and maturity. I don’t blame her for following head over feet for him after their not so great past. I’d love to be stuck in a house with that man… damn! There’s some suspenseful moments interlaced so you’ll be intrigued AND turned on!
-
Truths and Lies Duet by K Webster and Nikki Ash
These two authors always deliver insanely epic stories and this mafia themed duet was as erotic as it was suspenseful. It volleyed between action and violence and captivating lust. I really enjoyed all the danger aspects to the plot. Talia gave Kostas a run for his money. She has so much fire and sass in her. At times throughout the book you aren’t sure who is in control and it keeps you glued to the pages. The chemistry between them is electric and although there are some deeply twisted aspects to their love story, this slow burn romance is captivating.
-
Alpha Villain by Liliana Carlisle
Noah and Lilith‘s story is dark, gritty and oh so sensual. I didn’t even care about the plot sometimes because the sex scenes were just that good. There’s constant turmoil laced with angst and betrayal and I really loved that Noah was driven by so much anger because the lust he developed for Lilith was so powerful because of it. I loved the interconnecting stories of the secondary characters and that even though there was a lot going on throughout the book, you never lost focus of the dynamic between Lilith and Noah. Happy ever afters always taste sweeter when they are born from chaos!
-
Dealing Dirty by Loren Beeson
I loved book one of this series and didn’t think it could get better than Jack and Cassidy’s story but Loren worked her magic and delivered another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read! This story picks up with the same amount of energy and action that the first one left off with and I was beyond thrilled to dive into Derrick and Juliana‘s journey. I fell in love with her character as Cassidy‘s best friend and knew that because of what a spitfire she was, her time in the spotlight would be full of sass and passion. You could just tell that she made Derrick better and he wholeheartedly became her safe place to finally rest her weary heart. I LOVED seeing all of my favorite characters from book one and I don’t know what got my heart racing more, the action packed, suspense filled scenes or the racy, intimate moments between J and D! The last couple of chapters got super intense and the ending has me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the last installment in this series!

Wrapped in Black by Tiffany Reisz
Any chance to step back into the Original Sinners world is a gift, and Wrapped in Black is definitely a gift. Yes, this series is all about the kink. Given. But it’s also about the unconditional love these people have for each other. This novella shows that unconditional love with stories of the gifts they give to one another, gifts that are both wanted and not wanted to give and receive. A little confusing, but it all makes sense once you read it. This short story is packed with the all of the beautifully written wit and love and kink we’re used to with a story in the OS world. It’s the perfect little package.
-
Dream Keeper by Kristen Ashley
Another great book from Kristen Ashley! I love this series and have been excited for Auggie and Pepper’s love story. Above and beyond the romance, and heat we expect from KA, we got a book about navigating new romance when a kid is involved. You don’t see many stories with single parents, especially stories where both parents are actively co-parenting. I thought this thread of the story was written perfectly and really showed the difficulties of co-parenting and the effects it has on a kid. Speaking of the kid, Juno absolutely stole the show! There’s still a lot to be figured out with this series and that keeps me excited for new books and new couples in the series!
-
Window Shopping by Tessa Bailey
Window Shopping is the PERFECT holiday romance! It’s equal parts naughty and nice and just the thing to get you into the holiday spirit. It’s your typical “Grinch meets Clark Griswold” Christmas story, but in this twist our heroine is the grumpy Grinch. Aiden and Stella are the definition of “opposites attract” and their attraction is undeniable. This isn’t your Mama’s Hallmark Movie…Tessa Bailey brings her signature heat and dirty talk to this sweet holiday romance, and I am here. For. It.
-
Well Played by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward
This dynamic duo has done it again! Well Played is well-written, incredibly sweet and angst-filled. I love stories starring little kids as they always steal the show, and Alex stole the show as only an innocent child can! I loved watching Presley and Levi’s relationship grow from friendship to more, but I really loved the relationship between Levi and his nephew. Tanner was definitely unlikeable and I was pleased with the way Presley dealt with him. Well Played is a beautiful story of family and forbidden love. I loved every single word.
