After reading and enjoying Fluffy, I knew Perky was going to be a side splitting, outrageous story and I was not disappointed. These characters are so uniquely eccentric and laugh out loud funny you’ll find yourself equally rooting for their second chance and smacking your head at their idiosyncrasies and missteps. If you’re looking for a light and easy RomCom with quirky characters that will have you in stitches, pick up a copy of Perky ASAP!

Sink or Swim by Tessa Bailey
I’ve been waiting for Andrew and Jiya’s story since she walked into their kitchen in the first book. Before we even knew they were going to be a couple. Maybe even before Tessa knew they were going to be a couple. Is her writing so stellar that their chemistry jumps off the pages the first time we meet them. Yes. Yes it is. Andrew was always the strong brother, but I had no idea what secrets he was holding. From page one I was head over heels in love with him, and I swooned over his reactions to everything Jiya did. This book is absolute perfection, not just because of the expected (and highly anticipated) dirty factor I love in a Tessa Bailey man, but also because of his soft vulnerability. So good. SO GOOD!

Reveal by K. Bromberg
What a wild ride! I never felt confident about Ryker and Vaughn in book 1, he was always doing something that seemed a little shady. But he certainly won me over! There was a lot going on in their love story, so many outside influences working against them. Bromberg was able to tie up all of the swirling story-lines beautifully. I can’t say enough about this duet! It’s full of mystery, scandal, romance and the sweetest little girl who will immediately win your heart. I absolutely loved it!

Elemental Fae Academy Book Two by Lexi C. Foss and J. R. Thorn
I have never wanted to be a character in a book as much as I want to be Claire in this book. I mean, sure, her life is dangerous and she has been thrust into the world of the fae without much understanding of how it works, but she has five (yes, five) hot men protecting her and taking care of her every whim. It’s amazing how the authors have brought these five men to life – all of them with their own quirks, personality flaws, and blazing hotness. I also love the immersion I felt into this new world that Claire is exploring. Grab this one today, and you will not regret it!!!

The Decoy by S.E. Rose
I was looking for a funny, romantic read while flying and once I read the synopsis of this book, I was sold. Grant and Regan are BFF’s and when he asks her to come to his cousins wedding as her date to hide the fact that he is gay, she doesn’t even hesitate. Their banter is adorable and so genuine. I loved how comfortable they were with one another. When Regan hits it off with Zach, another guest of the wedding, flirtation leads to fooling around which leads to feelings which leads to a surprise deep connection. The buildup and back and forth is funny and witty and S.E. Rose does an amazing job at turning this chance meeting into a full-blown relationship. The chemistry is great, and the characters are perfectly developed. If you love a good romantic comedy, this is a must!

Stronger by Erica Marselas
This book has a lot to say about the pressures we feel growing up. Erica does an amazing job conveying the hardships and ups & downs that Brooklyn and Hunter face as teenagers. It shows the real effects of bullying and it explores the endless layers of what it is to be an adolescent trying to find your place in the world. Brooklyn really grabbed at my heart strings. Her innocence. Her vulnerability. She fell for the boy who was up on a pedestal but man, was he ready to fall for her. He is coming into his own and trying to find his voice in the sea of craziness that is high school and it was heartbreaking to watch. I was rooting for them and as the pages turned, I found myself totally enthralled with the undiluted plot of this story.

Prince of Killers by Layla Reyne
This book has it all. A little dark, a little twisted, and a lot hot! How can you not get drawn into the story of a family of assassins that is tearing itself apart from the inside? No one has a clear motive but everyone has an agenda. And the heir apparent is unable to stay away from the sexy PI that arrives on the scene. This is one hell of a start to a series where you can’t trust anything you read.

Man Feast by Krista Sandor
This was a fun, witty, sexy little romance book! Jasper and Elle were so adorable together. I loved their whole relationship from start to finish. They are so opposite but as they say, opposites attract! Jasper struggles with showing emotion and a sensitive side, but with Elle, he feels like he can finally breathe. She is so sweet and caring, looking out or his best interest and really trying to be there for him. I loved the slight angst tone with their individual struggles and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot foreplay and sexy times!

Where the Blame Lies by Mia Sheridan
I’m not gonna lie, when I think dark and twisted, suspense/thriller my mind does not typically go to Mia Sheridan. But alas, this is why she earns her spot time and time again as my favorite author. She has an uncanny talent to craft such depth of humanity and emotion in every single story she pens that she could write a phone book and make it the most enthralling tale you’ve ever read. This story is so freaking good and so freaking INTENSE on so many levels. It will have you on the edge of your seat, heart racing and when the unexpected plot twist comes… WHEW…MIND BLOWN! That being said, this book has more trigger warnings than I can count, so for those who have aversions to the explicit details of the darkness and depravity of humanity, you’ve been warned. For me, this was yet another brilliant masterpiece by my absolute favorite storyteller. ❤

At a Stranger’s Mercy by Brittany Cournoyer
In addition to being a die hard smut lover, I am a true crime junkie! And this book pairs both worlds beautifully. It is a slow burn but the suspense makes up for it. This is almost like reading an episode of a crime documentary but in the best way. Several times I thought I had things figured out only to be proven wrong. I was on the edge of my seat and almost launched my Kindle across the room more than once.

Take Care of You by Gianni Holmes
Over the past year, I have become obsessed with the Daddy/boy trope. There is just something about stern, silver haired daddies taking their stubborn boys in hand that raises my temperature! Then I stumbled across this book and turned everything on its ear! A Daddy in his twenties and a boy in his forties? How is THAT going to work out? It works like a dream! This is the start of a trilogy that is off the charts hot.

Long Way Home by Nicky James
When I need really good angst I turn to Nicky James. She writes “get me a box of Kleenex, a bottle of wine and a box of chocolate” angst like a boss. And this book might be her best yet. It has young lovers torn apart, missed connections, and second (and third) chances at love. It was a full on rollercoaster of feels and I loved every second of it

Trust by Casey Diam
Caleb & Paige’s dynamic was what kept me glued to this story! I love a good suspense filled crime family book and Trust was that and more. Paige nearly escaped death when she was a young teenager and since then has felt like someone was always after her. The plot of this story is complex, filled with questions and intrigue about the whole incident. It has obviously impacted her life severely, but there are many mysteries looming. Caleb knows something is going on with her and begins to insert himself into her life. The two aren’t quite sure of one another, or the people around them but they begin to develop a bond that is undeniable. Warning, you will be cursing Casey Diam for the cliffhanger she leaves you on but, have no fear, the second book awaits!

Jaybird by M.A. Foster
Okay, so I had a serious girl crush on Jaybird after finishing this story! Damn, MA Foster. You laid it on thick! Although this would be considered “young adult”, don’t be fooled. It has a serious, mature storyline which you won’t be able to get enough of. Jaybird may have reached celebrity status, but she is anything but. She has that natural cool vibe where she doesn’t try to be relevant but everyone just wants to be around her. With the ups come the downs and the story follows her struggles with real, every day issues and some heartbreaking ones. Zach is just holding on for dear life and I loved his place in her life. The secondary characters were amazing. I found myself laughing often. A great series kick off!

The Undisputed Series by A.S. Teague
I travel a lot for work and needed a series to dive into that was going to keep my attention and deliver a great story. The Undisputed Series was exactly what I was looking for. Breccan is a MMA fighter who believes he is happy with his life and career. His job has hardened him into a fighting machine with no emotion, or so he thinks. He meets a boy through Make-a-Wish and before he knows it, is falling hard for the boys aunt, Sidney. I LOVED their interactions from the start. They are sweet, realistic and full of charm and innocence. You will enjoy riding this wave of emotions throughout their love story. And then there is Ryker and Rebecca’s journey that is interwoven to this once Ryker gets a job at Breccan’s gym. Their story is much more of a cat and mouse chase. He is working hard to prove his worth and who he truly is and she slowly, but surely breaks down her walls to see his true character. The story line flows effortlessly and I loved reading the entire thing back to back. It really helped me connect with the characters.

Hexxed by Shannon West
Now that Labor Day has passed most people start dreaming of Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Jack O’ Lanterns. I start looking for paranormal stories. And this is a great one! It has cursed jewels, supernatural police, starcrossed witch lovers and a hot reunion. And this is all set against a suspenseful murder mystery in New Orleans. This is the perfect kickoff to my yearly Halloween binge!

Sweet Reckoning by Wendy Higgins
Wendy Higgins wrapped up her Sweet trilogy with a story so sweet, so beautiful, and so fulfilling that it made me laugh out loud, and cry when it was over. The love between Kaidan and Anna is captivating, but I was equally invested in the stories around the supporting characters, who were so well written that I felt like I could be friends with them in real life. At times, the story kept me on the edge of my seat, and at other times, I was laughing and crying along with the characters. Read this trilogy today, and you won’t regret it.

Abandon by Rachel Van Dyken
I love a good second chance romance, especially when the heroine is “the one that got away.” Ty and Abigail never got over each other, and their reunion was explosive. Rachel Van Dyken has a gift for writing angsty, heartwarming stories and Abandon is just that. And, as usual, there’s a cast of secondary characters who add enough humor to balance out the angst and heartbreak. Abandon is a great addition to the Seaside Series or the perfect introduction to this group of Rockers.

Confessions: Henri by Ella Frank
Ella Frank has a gift for creating swoonworthy men and her new chapter in the Confessions saga does not disappoint! The chemistry between straight laced cop, Craig Bailey and smooth, Cajun outlaw, Henri Boudreaux is explosive. Any relationship between them is going to be nothing but trouble but they can’t resist. But can they survive the dark secret that Henri is hiding?

Elemental Fae Academy by Lexi C. Foss and J. R. Thorn
Magic, hot Fae men, intrigue, mysterious happenings, and a world that will draw you in with its intricate detail and wonder – these are the things you will get in this book. Exos, Titus and Vox are all super hot, and captivating, each in their own way. Watching Claire explore her new world is enticing, and watching her explore her feelings for her men is as heart warming as it is combustible! One of the things I love most about Lexi’s books is the way her worlds draw me in, and this one is no exception. One warning, if you like a story to be complete before you read it, this one is not. Book two is out on September 24th, and hopefully book 3 will be out soon after that. So either grab this one today, or wait until the series is complete. You won’t be sorry!

Friction by Tracie Delaney
This book got me right in the feels. It’s got a super hot, race car driving hero, a strong and feisty heroine who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go and get it, and a story that was impossible to put down. The chemistry between Jared and Paisley is amazing, and their story brought tears to my eyes more than once. The excitement of the racing world shines in the story, and adds to the intensity of the feelings. Grab this one today, and you will not be sorry!!!

Sins of the Flesh by Natasha Raulerson
My two weaknesses in life are tattoos and dirty talk and this book has both! Hunter is hired to be Sin’s personal bodyguard after she is almost kidnapped much to her dismay. He is aggressive, alpha and not up for Sin’s backtalk and sass. Sin was so feisty and strong, she was sometimes hotter than Hunter! They kept pretending they weren’t attracted to one another and that led to an explosive, sexy plot! Hunter can’t keep his hands off her once he gets them on her and Sin cannot resist his touch. I love a slow buildup. It is like foreplay! When the characters finally get together it takes you to an all-time high. Natasha Raulerson even wove in some major twists at the end which proved that sometimes the unexpected is just what you need!

Moti on the Water by Leylah Attar
I simply adored this story! Full of culture, full of hysterical antics and full of self-discovery, this is not your average RomCom. These characters were fully developed, their story and drama was smart, relatable, culturally accurate and the chemistry Leylah was able to articulate between family, friends and lovers was superb. This story goes down as sweet and luscious as honey from Kythira Moti on the Water is a summertime MUST READ recommendation for me!

Chasing Fireflies by Paige P. Horne
First, this is not a lighthearted story. It has some very serious undertones dealing with mental illness and the toll it takes on the people around you. Cash & Sara are one of those couples you love to hate. They have been together since high school, completely enamored with one another and so deeply in love. Cash adores Sara. You feel his connection to her in every word he speaks. As their relationship evolves and grows over the years, Sara is sadly losing her battle with her mental illness and you feel the severity of the brutal reality they are both dealing with. Cash’s love for her is so strong and encompassing but the struggles and battles are almost unbearable at times. I loved them for how hard they fought and could not stop reading their story.

Filthy Vows by Alessandra Torre
We rarely see books about a married couple, so that fact alone made me excited to read this book. Easton and Elle had a great marriage. they go through the normal things married couples go through, but their relationship is solid. So you might ask, “then where’s the story?” The story here is that Elle has a crazy sexual appetite, I was sometimes shocked (and fascinated) at the lengths she would go to to pleasure herself. When she opened up to her husband about her fantasies, he gave them to her. That’s what I loved most about this book. There was no drama between the main characters, just a wife opening up to her husband about her needs and wants and a husband giving his wife everything she desires in the bedroom. I’m thinking this should be required reading for all husbands!

Halfway Girl by Tessa Bailey
I first fell in love with Birdie as Jason’s awkward teenage sister is Runaway Girl. She’s feisty and lives her life in honor of her twin sister who died suddenly when they were teenagers. Birdie is now in college, doing things college kids do. That includes hooking up with a hot football player at a party. Their connection and chemistry is instant and things get real hot real quick. Leave it to Tessa Bailey to pack in some serious sexiness in 70 pages. This sweet and steamy romance is the perfect compliment to the Getaway Girl Series.

Burn by Alexandra Silva
I could not put this book down! Leo and Cassie have one of those dynamics that make you so enthralled with them that you do not want to stop reading. Leo was such a hot character. The perfect mix of sexy alpha and dirty hot. I loved the intrigue around him being connected to Cassie and that he doesn’t back down from what he wants even when there are obstacles. Cassie knows how to work him and when they get together it is scorching! She cannot help but be drawn to him, intoxicated by just his presence. The plot continuously flows and even the secondary characters add a layer of depth that builds the suspense and adds layers to the story. This book has a great mix of everything. The story is so engaging, and the characters were very well developed. I am really loving Alexandra’s writing and cannot wait for the second book!

Master Baker by Pippa Grant
You ever wish a fictional place really existed? Well I wish Shipwreck and Sarcasm was real because I need to experience this kooky place in person. This book was ridiculously funny! A second chance, friends/enemies to lovers tale full of angst, vulnerability and conflict delivered in a deliciously sweet, endearing, dirty talking, hilarious little treat. I loved these characters, I loved their towns, I loved their families, I loved their animals and I loved their story!

Poppy by Kailee Samuels
I am still coming out of this book hangover. WOW. This story covers the entire spectrum of emotion. Poppy’s life is filled with sadness and hardship from the start. She meets Kane one day and what she hopes is an answer to all her problems is nothing more than a deeper decent into darkness. Kane opens up a world of pain she did not even know existed. I HATED his character… in a good way. He is vile and pure evil. What he puts Poppy and Abel (his son) through is nothing short of hell on earth. But I needed to fully despise him in order to whole-heartedly love the relationship that develops between Poppy & Abel. They were each others bright light through the darkness that was their lives. The ending was emotional and I really felt it in my gut. Kailee Samuels writing is gritty and intense. You’ve been warned!
*Warning* – This book touches on some major triggers (abuse, rape, drugs) and the taboo issue of step-mom / step-son.

Wrong Side of the Tracks by Jessica Prince
How much can one woman endure?!?! This story tests those boundaries for sure! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading each heroine overcome, rise up and find their HEA in the Hope Valley series, but Gypsy is the toughest cookie in the bunch and most deserving of love, happiness and peace in my opinion ❤ ☮ This book has action, suspense, angst, hope and some off the charts hot scenes… not to mention, I love when kids are written into a story both realistically and seamlessly. Another great book that can be read as a standalone, but is more poignant when read in conjunction with the others.
