  • Ivy’s Poison by India R Adams

One of my favorite things is discovering a “new to me author” that hits all my “must haves” in the first book of theirs I pick up! India Adams gave me a story that included darkness, suspense, passion, sex and character depth. I loved Bors & Ivy’s story. There are some really deep and twisted moments. If you are not a fan of a darker themed read, you may want to steer clear (triggers include beatings, blood, torture). If you can get past those aspects, you will find that this is really a story about hope and redemption. Two people who are so traumatized from their pasts, that they cannot even see the light in the dark, even when it is shining right in front of them. I enjoyed the development of their characters, individually and together, and I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

  • Just One of the Groomsmen by Cindi Madsen

This is my first Cindi Madsen book and I’m SO glad I took a chance on it. It was hilarious, endearing, sweet and sassy all in one delicious little story. Addison is the perfect Tomboy character! Her level of sass and sarcasm was right up my ally. Her and Tucker together, well that’s just a lifetime of friends to lover chemistry that you can’t deny. Add in some of the funniest supporting characters and town folk and what you have is a SOLID small town romance that rivals any I’ve ever read! This is a PERFECT summertime RomCom, on the beach, on the lake, at the pool, or even swamp side where the creatures lurk… pull up a towel and dig right in, I promise you won’t regret it! <3

  • Written with Regret by Aly Martinez

I’m a huge fan of Aly Martinez, she writes angst and suspense so freaking good it leaves you utterly speechless. This book drags you through a gamut of emotions, you’ll hate these characters, you’ll love them and at times you’ll want to shake some sense into them and give them a swift kick in the rear! Written with Regret is the first book in this unbelievably unique duet that has me anxiously waiting on pins and needles for book two, Written with You. That’s right, CLIFFY warning y’all… a cliffy that drops on you in the last few pages like a G-DAMN bomb!!! Good thing is we only have to wait a few short weeks for the conclusion to this heart wrenching tale. If you’re looking for a story that will make you question what is and isn’t forgivable, how much damage can actually be healed from a trauma so tragic it left those involved completely shattered and broken, and ultimately questioning if love and destiny can overcome it all, then you need to read this story! It will draw you in, chew you up and spit you out and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

  • Bent by Hollis Wynn

This book is filled with ALL the angst and it was amazing! What a kick-ass debut novel by Hollis Wynn! Carrigan is such a relatable character to the point where I saw myself making the same choices she was faced to make. We’ve all been in a low place with a significant other, missing red flags and believing lies we know are out of desperation. She is broken and bruised and is on a new journey searching for hope and renewal and I wanted it for her SO badly! That speaks to the writing and depth of character development throughout this book. Whit made me feel ALL the things, including rage and I am not sure how I feel about him even at the end. Carrigan deserved true happiness and I really hope her story continues past this book because I would love to see how she grows from here, after everything that came her way. Also, be prepared to fall in love with the secondary charters! They were amazing!

  • Savaged by Mia Sheridan

It’s no secret that I’m Mia Sheridan’s biggest fan, LOL ❤ Her words bury deep into my soul and touch me more than any other author has the ability to. Every book so unique, every characters emotion so genuinely articulated that you can’t help but empathize and understand their hearts wants, needs, motivations, struggles and triumphs. Savaged is no exception to this. It is unlike any story I’ve ever read, not just of Mia’s, but EVER! It’s a heart racing adventure of survival, it’s primal and raw in both the reality of it and in it’s emotion, and it has twists and turns so unexpected that it absolutely blew me away! It’s not romance. I mean there’s romance in it, but if I had to categorize it I would call it a suspense of EPIC proportions! I liken the journey it takes you on to a great Dan Brown thriller, it gave me the chills similar to Tiffany Reisz’s The Lucky Ones or The Bourbon Thief, all packaged in the irreplaceable, serendipitous package that only Mia Sheridan can deliver. This is a TOP READ of the year for me, hands down. I’d give it all the stars if I could ⭐ All of them.
    Bravo Mia… BRAVO

  • Touch: The Complete Series by Cara Dee

This series is unbelievably hot! The pages are literally smoking as you turn them with sexy heat coming off. I loved the pace of the stories and all the characters. I honestly felt like I was submerged in this BDSM world full of kinky delights and sex-filled escapades. Each novella was better than the next and I am glad I opted to read the entire series at once instead of piecing them together little by little. Who needs Netflix when you can binge this series in a weekend? I won’t give anything away, but Twice the Touch was my favorite! Cara writes such vivid scenes, you can’t help but imagine yourself there, seeing, feeling, touching. *Shivers* This series was one of the hottest I have read in a bit! The quotes below are just the tip of the iceberg, TRUST ME!

  • Scarlet Mark by Lexi C. Foss

I am starting to believe that Lexi C. Foss is not of this world. This book is her first journey into the world of romantic suspense, and she mastered it so thoroughly that I am convinced that she’s magical. Killian is so deliciously dark, and such a such a super hot bad boy with a penchant for playing with knives that you will want to play with him long after the story ends. Amara is such a beautifully broken heroine that watching him heal her is equal parts heart breaking and heart mending. The story has some dark themes, and deals with human trafficking, so be warned if those are triggers for you. But if you enjoy watching people find love even when they are in dark places, read this one today, and you won’t be sorry.

  • Save Me by AJ Alexander & Andi Jaxon

What an emotional roller coaster this story was. Adam finds himself drawn to Isabel and her young daughter due to circumstances from an abusive marriage she is in. He immediately becomes a protective barrier for them and I loved how the book progressed. There is heartache and struggle within these pages, but the beauty of survival is what makes this book stand out. The pieces of this story written from the daughter Sophie’s point of view were so sad to read but, in that fear, and innocence came a sense of hope with Adam and it really took the story to a different place for me. Not many adult romance books show a child’s POV and I loved that aspect of the story. Truly a book of survival and strength showing us that there is life and love after trauma and hurt.

  • Choose Me by R.C. Boldt

I absolutely ADORED this book!!! R.C. Boldt is quickly becoming a must-read author for me. This is a sweet, slow burn story filled with tons of coming of age emotion, angst and decades worth of unrequited and unconditional love. Magnolia and Hollis are not just characters in a story, they’re not just best friends either, they are life partners and in reading this book you get to share in their journey of life, loss, love and hope. I’m gonna go out on a ledge here and compare this story to the writings of my favorite author Mia Sheridan. So if, like me, you are a die hard Mia fan, trust me when I say you will love this book!

  • Fluffy by Julia Kent

Introverted, over thinker with HILARIOUS friends finds herself in a precarious situation with her high school crush = Comic GOLD! In the summertime I tend to lean heavy towards reading RomCom’s, because light and funny is how I want to spend my days in the sunshine. Fluffy fit the bill completely! It has a bit of a Romy & Michele vibe to it, complete with some teenage flashbacks and a High School reunion. It’s witty, it’s smart and it’s freaking funny AF!

  • The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

Christina Lauren is one of my favorites and their books always have me LOLing. The Unhoneymooners is a funny, snarky rom-com about two people that really don’t like each other being forced to endure a fake honeymoon. Of course the romantic setting and pretending to be in love pushes them together. It’s like something straight out of a Hallmark movie. But when real life swoops in, their relationship is tested. Olive and Ethan’s romance was so fun to watch blood, but I really enjoyed about this book was the realness of the conflict. It wasn’t drama for the sake of drama, but real life stuff that happens to all of us. The Unhoneymooners is a light and fun romance, the perfect summer beach read!

  • Slow Burn by Kristen Ashley

THIS is the KA we know and love! Toby is the quintessential KA alpha man. He loves fiercely and makes no apologies for his actions when taking care of the people in his life. I love a good slow burn, and this slow burn lasted MONTHS! I literally cheered when Toby and Addie finally got together. This is a book about family, those related by blood and those related by love. It’s beautiful, sweet and funny, just how a love story should be. KA gives us all of the feels in this one, it’s definitely her best work in a while. Love, love, love it!!

  • Beautiful Ever After by Georgia Cates

What an ending to Lou and Hatch’s love story! While the first book was romantic and sexy, the second in the duet took a sinister turn. As they learn to open their hearts to love, they must also fight for their family. The crazy twists keep me turning the pages!! Still romantic and sexy like Eighty-One Nights, Beautiful Ever After added suspense and love. Their story ended exactly how it should.

  • Just My Type by Tara Sivec

Do you like to laugh? Of course you do, who doesn’t like to laugh?!?! This book had me in stitches from the first few pages! You can always count on Tara Sivec to give you laugh out loud RomCom, but this book had an endearing sweetness to it as well. I mean divorced single mom meets single war hero in the most unconventional and hilarious way, what’s not to love! In addition, there’s quite a bit of inspiration in this book as it relates to finding yourself after a major devastation. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I know you will too ❤

  • Sweet Harmony by Elizabeth Kelly

I love Elizabeth’s romances, so I was excited to see a new series set in a small town.
Kira and Connor had so much chemistry from their first kiss, and Elizabeth knows how to write a hot kissing scene. Kira feels guilty as she starts having feelings for Connor as she’s been in love with another man for years. Connor was hurt in a past relationship, too, but Kira breaks open his heart and I loved watching them fight the love they were feeling. One of my other favorite parts was how Kira’s friends helped her see that her love was true for Connor and that she should take a chance on moving their fake relationship to the real thing. There were plenty of sweet and funny moments, even a few alpha jealousy scenes that had me cheering for Connor.
I love all the different character interactions and trying to figure out who the next couples will be. It makes me want their books ASAP.

  • F-Bomb by Lani Lynn Vale

I’ve been hoping for Slate’s story since we first met him in book 1 of this series, and I’m so happy he found his love after everything he’s been through. You knew he was a good man just watching him interact with his grandmother, sister, and her children, but then seeing him fight his attraction to Harleigh was both funny and sad. He didn’t think he deserved a good woman like her. Once all of his friends had found love, he knew he couldn’t stop himself for claiming Harleigh anymore. Harleigh was so cute, with the right amount of attitude for this big ex-con. And Lani let us see the other couples from this series, and they helped inject more humor to the story, as well as showing Slate how they had his back, even when he tried to be a loner.

  • The Lying Hours by Sara Ney

Abe was sweet and smart, but when it came to Skylar, he was a bit of an idiot. He had to do some groveling, which is always a favorite part of mine to read. What made it even better was Abe asked for advice from one of the biggest jerk characters Sara wrote in this series, but who had found his own love story. Their interactions were hilarious. But, once they both put aside their misgivings and admitted to themselves that people make mistakes and forgive people, their relationship was perfect and swoony.
I laughed a lot reading this book, and it wasn’t just the hero and heroine, it was the side characters that Sara wrote into the plot. All of her books in this series have such great side characters and I loved Skylar’s best friend. She stole the show whenever she was in scenes and I cannot wait for her story.

  • The Best of Me by Jessica Prince

Ok y’all… I don’t dole out 5⭐ recommendations lightly, a book really has to move me emotionally to earn it from me. So, I’m going out on a limb here in stating that this might be the best written, most realistic single parent romance I’ve ever read! I really enjoyed the other books in this series (Side note: you don’t have to read them before this one), but this one here knocks it out of the park! I knew I was gonna love Nona’s story once we got it, but I didn’t realize how much. This story… sigh, this story is perfect. I’ve never read kids/teenagers so perfectly intertwined into a romance story line before, being a single mom for over 12 years, I appreciated this SO MUCH, made it that much more relatable and realistic for me. It’s funny, it’s real, it’s hard, it’s honest and it blew me away. Well done Jessica Prince, well done
P.S. Please tell me Gypsy’s story is next! Never mind, either Gypsy or Rory will do, LOL

  • Safeword by Nikita Slater & Jasmin Quinn

Remy & James have an instant connection and it is beyond hot. She needs help paying off a debt and he just happens to offer her an agreement she cannot refuse. He is ruthless, dominant and knows exactly what he wants. The bidding scene is so detailed, even I found myself shifting in my chair. Their interactions are raw and electric, and the way Remy responds to James almost seems natural. I really enjoyed the intensity of the scenes and would’ve loved to have more of this story and their dynamic.

  • Dear Mr. Temporary by Rebecca Gallo

This was the first Rebecca Gallo book I have read, and it will not be my last. I love the way she wove this quick tale of insta-lust. I love the way she developed the characters – sweet Layne who needed to learn to stand up for herself, and dirty-talking Archie who inspired her to do so. Most of all, I enjoyed the hot chemistry between Layne and Archie. Read this one today, and you won’t be sorry!!!

  • The Five by Lily White

Two words. Slow. Burn. That is the best way to describe this story. Rainey has lived a life of pure chaos and depravity. She has sold her body for survival and it has beaten her down in more ways than one. She is broken, confused, damaged and delusional because of it all. After witnessing and surviving a horrific attack, she begins seeing Justin, a psychologist. He has NO idea what he is in for. The story never gets lighter. It only dives deeper into the sick and twisted world she has grown up in and the toll it has taken. You think the answers are obvious, but they aren’t, and that is what I love. Major triggers- abuse, drugs and more but if you love a dark read, this book is a must!

  • Kiss Me Tonight by Maria Luis

I love Maria Luis’ writing style, her characters, and this romance does not disappoint. Dominic and Aspen had plenty of things to work out before coming together, but the slow-burn was so worth it. Dom was a dirty talker who loved to keep Aspen on the edge, he hated being predictable. Aspen was a strong woman and mother who parried with Dom in hilarious conversations. They were both starting over in a small town, and I loved that Maria had these two characters never lie and be as open as they felt they could be during the beginning of the relationship. We didn’t get their whole backstory of what they went through immediately, Maria would work in snippets as Dom and Aspen started to fall in love. And she wrote a great “evil” ex-husband that had the perfect moniker of Rick the Prick. I highly recommend signing up for the epilogue novelette that Maria has at the end of the book, it’s the perfect ending for this couple.

  • While I Was Away by Stylo Fantôme

One of my favorite movies happens to be What Dreams May Come, and though the plot of the movie leans towards depressing, the underlying theme is everlasting, soul connecting love. The feeling I get when I watch that movie is the same feeling I got when I read this book. Hope. Stylo crafted a beautiful tale about the connections we have with people and the unwavering love that comes with a soulmate. Adele and Jones meet in a dream like world after a freak accident and the bond between them is undeniable. There are many moments throughout this story where I was asking myself what is real and what is fake. Are we in reality or an alternative universe? From start to finish, the plot takes you on a journey through every emotion imaginable, which I enjoyed. I also adored each character in this book (even Charlie) because each one had a solid purpose and connection to Adele and her destiny. A true heartfelt read that takes a more romantic approach then sexy and guess what? I wasn’t hating it!

  • Birth of a Baby Daddy by Piper Rayne

Piper Rayne did it again! The Bailey family has become one of my favorites and I loved the mystery of this story, not knowing which Bailey twin was the daddy. Then, watching him fall in love with his daughter and her mother, Harley, all while under the scrutiny of small-town life was utter perfection. Harley had plenty of childhood baggage to overcome, but she soon realized she wanted her daughter to have the love of the Bailey family plus her father in this small town in Alaska. Harley and the hero have plenty of chemistry, but they take things slowly at first, then once they get together, it is HOT. And there are plenty of laughs between the Bailey siblings. Also, I will never look at a container of Greek yogurt the same way again.

  • Debase by Rachel Van Dyken

I never thought I could love characters who are cold-blooded killers, but I do. Throughout this series there have been characters that I think, “there’s no way Rachel can redeem this guy,” but she does. I’ve been intrigued by Andrei since we first met him. His back story is horrific and somehow this monster was made lovable. Alice was the epitome of strength and love and might be my favorite Eagle Elite heroine. Debase wrapped up the Eagle Elite series perfectly and I can’t wait to see what the Russians bring next in the Elite Bratva Brotherhood!

  • Pretty Reckless by L.J. Shen

What a great book! I love the enemies-to-lovers trope and this one did not disappoint!! Penn and Daria’s angst-filled love/hate relationship was intoxicating and I loved seeing them get under each other’s skin. The emotion and hurt in the book made me forget at times that these characters were in high school. There’s a lot going on with a lot of characters, and I found myself confused at times because it was hard to keep track of who was with who and why. Daria is not a nice person, at all, but it’s easy to see why she acts out the way she does. And, in the end, she turned out to be my favorite. This sexy, angsty romance could totally be a big-screen blockbuster! I loved it!

  • Diary of a Bad Boy by Meghan Quinn

Who doesn’t love a dirty talking bad boy? I thoroughly enjoyed this story by Meghan Quinn. She has a way with her writing that draws you in and makes you feel like you’re a part of the cast. I actually pretended I was the diary that Roark was confessing to in every chapter with this one, LOL! This book was hilarious at times, endearing and thought provoking in others and ultimately left me believing in the power of love. If you enjoy an enemies to lovers trope with a bad boy who has a soft spot for the right woman, this book fits the bill!

  • Soul in Darkness by Wendy Higgins

Wendy Higgins has a way of weaving stories that is absolutely enchanting. Soul in Darkness is part love story, part epic mythological adventure, and completely impossible to put down. The story of Cupid and Psyche has so much chemistry that it’s both heart-warming and lady-part-tingling. It starts as an enemies to lovers tale and effortlessly evolves into a tale of appeasing angry Gods. It has a small supporting cast, but it’s impossible not to fall in love with them, too, especially the non-human supporting characters. Grab this one today, and you won’t be sorry.

  • Luca by Brenda Rothert

What started out as a one-night stand blossomed into a lovely romance between 2 hurt and damaged people. Luca is raising his brother’s children after their parents died and Abby has reinvented herself into a millionaire after the worst day of her life. Your heart will feel so much reading about her past that has shaped the new Abby who doesn’t want a relationship, especially with a hockey player raising 3 kids. Luca is constantly feeling like he can’t handle all the responsibility, whether he’s being a good parent in lieu of his brother and sister-in-law. Brenda’s writing will have you glued to the pages, your mind caught in Abby and Luca’s insecurities and how they overcome them to welcome each other into their busy lives.

  • Meet Cute by Helena Hunting

A “meet cute” is defined by dictionary.com as: in a film or TV show, an amusing or charming first encounter between two characters that leads to the development of a romantic relationship between them. Daxton and Kailyn’s first meeting is absolutely adorable, and it sets them on a romantic path full of chemistry, unfulfilled lust, a few misunderstandings, and a lot of love. What’s not to love about a pair of hot lawyers? This book is impossible to put down, and left me with warm fuzzies for a long time after finishing it.
