This book left my head spinning. I tend to gravitate towards the darker stories and this book definitely mindf*cks you in a very dark way. I read it in one sitting because I NEEDED to know what was next and I am still thinking about it days later. It is twisted and brutal at times. There are major triggers and it gets pretty dark. Merc is insane and ruthless but I loved that about him. The head games between him and Sydney are pretty intense and you can’t help but get wrapped up in their violent chemistry. The story is complex and the characters are very intricately woven together. You will gasp several times but it is worth it in the end. Suspenseful, emotional and savagely hot. Well done, J.A. Huss.

Viktor by Clarissa Wild
Viktor is a dark and gritty twist on the Beauty and the Beast fairy-tale. Alexis sells her body to live and she does it very well. She knows the rules of the lifestyle and does what she needs to do for herself and her sister. Viktor thinks of himself as a monster and despite their first encounter which ends with his hands around her throat, he is anything but. I enjoyed watching their dynamic grow. Love that Clarissa put such a sexy, edgy spin to this classic story.

Love, Chloe by Alessandra Torre
Alessandra Torre is one of my “if she writes it, I’ll read it” authors. I’ve loved everything she’s written. Love, Chloe is no exception! A lot of Torre’s books are gritty and twisty and angsty, but Love, Chloe is the opposite. It’s funny and real and down right sexy. It’s about finding yourself when everything you know goes to shit. It’s about great friends and crappy jobs and true love. It’s awesome.

Debauched by Jennifer Dawson
It’s always the ones you least expect it who are the kinkiest. Computer geek, clean cut, all-American, loving and normal family . . . sexual deviant in the sack. Oh yes, Chad will push all your kinky buttons just like he does with Ruby. I loved how they start out as acquaintances and he insinuates himself into her life when he realizes how much pleasure he gets being around her. And he pushes Ruby to embrace her kinkiness slowly because he knows exactly what she needs. This story had a slower build-up than the first 2 but it worked for this couple once you realize their back stories. I think that’s one of the things I love about Jennifer’s writing, she creates these alpha men who know what their women want even if the women don’t.

Dirtiest Secret by J. Kenner
HOT! I love the taboo books, and this one is about as taboo as it gets!! Once I got over the weirdness factor (and it wasn’t hard to get over), I fell in love with Dallas and Jane’s love story. Talk about drama!! WHEW! And the sexual tension? Double WHEW! I can’t wait to see what will happen next.
This book had a little bit of everything. Mystery, suspense, emotion and dirty, hot sex. I loved how complex the story was and how you get to watch Dallas and Jane try to build something out of all the turmoil. Their relationship is taboo but you get so invested in the characters, nothing else matters. I am excited to continue this series!
This book definitely had secrets that I did not see coming. Holy hell. And the hotness factor from the opening chapter will make you turn on a fan. I really enjoyed how we get past and present scenes so we can see how Dallas and Jane first grow to love each other, what throws them apart, but eventually brings them back together. The story pacing will not leave you bored, and you will definitely be surprised when you arrive at the last page, because you’ll be turning those pages as fast as you can.

Bounty by Kristen Ashley
I was so excited to go back to the mountains and see all my past favorite couples. There was a little suspense and drama in this story, but it focused more on the budding relationship between Justice and Deke. Plus, there were a few secrets that were a great addition to the overall story. KA tells you in the beginning to listen to the songs she references within the story, and you need to follow her advice. It brings out a different side to a scene than just reading the words. She got me crying again with this one too and I still have a book hangover. I want my own tall, wide, bearded with a man-bun Colorado mountain man who knows how to cuddle.
Classic KA greatness!! Bounty is a beautifully simple second chance (sorta) romance. Two lost souls finding each other when they weren’t looking. The music added to the story tremendously and I highly recommend listening to the songs as they come up. And the BEST part about a Colorado Mountain book…..a TY WALKER cameo. It was great to catch up with the folks of Gnaw Bone and Carnal. There’s really not much more to say about it. Classic KA greatness. ~Adrian -
Dirty by Kylie Scott
Kylie Scott makes the wait for Dive Bar worth every moment. Every page turn has another laugh or swoony bit. I can’t wait for the next installment.~ Nelle [April 2016]
I knew I liked Vaughn but I absolutely fell in love with him after the first chapter! He’s sweet, funny and swoon-worthy, he totally reminds me a little of a certain blonde haired drummer………It’s a great story and I can’t wait for more from the Dive Bar!!
The opening chapters to Dirty had me laughing and gasping in outrage, capturing my attention for Vaughn and Lydia’s wild romance. Who doesn’t love a tortured hero that steps up to be a woman’s knight in tattooed armor? But, even though Lydia needed help in the beginning, she has no problem stepping up when her new friends (and future lover) need help themselves. Kylie gives us another group of great side characters, and I can’t wait for their stories. -
Kiss of Midnight: A Midnight Breed Novel by Lara Adrian
This book will hook you from the get-go with the strong characters, great world building, and the hot sex.
Gabrielle and Lucan light each other up with lust, but Lucan fights his attraction, especially when he realizes she is a special human who can mate with vampires. Since he’s the leader of a SWAT-like vampire force, he fears anyone that gets too close to him will be in danger. I loved watching Gabby bring him to his knees and stand up for what she wanted with him.Lara Adrian gives you passion, lust, action and suspense in this book! Her writing is so enticing and the Vampire world she creates is so vivid. I loved following Lucan and his constant struggle to contain his feelings for Gabrielle. It is a tug of war battle knowing that they need to stay away from each other, but the connection is too strong. He is all Alpha and it makes for some pretty hot reading. Definitely a must read for any Vampire romance lover.

The Bad Ones by Stylo Fantôme
A modern day Bonnie and Clyde with a side of Wild Things; that was Dulcie and Con. They drifted towards each other because of this darkness they craved, completing each other. And the sex was angry and harsh. This was not a sweet New Adult romance.
If you’ve read Stylo’s Kane trilogy, there are some definite similarities in tone and how the heroine grows harder and stronger without the hero around all the time. There were things I wasn’t expecting in the plot to unfold how they did, and the ending before the epilogue . . . holy hell. One word. INTENSE. This story was insane, but that is just how I like them. Dulcie is fighting demons she doesn’t even know she has and Con is as crazy as they come. The two of them feel invincible when they are together. They are explosive and their relationship is volatile. But damn, it makes for some hot, explosive sex. There is violence and suspense but also so much raw emotion. The story was fast paced and a page turner. I didn’t put it down. Well done, Stylo.

Night Fires by D H Sidebottom
This is one of those books that you finish and then just stare at the last page through tears. Carter and Alice’s journey will leave you feeling wrecked and overcome with emotion. You watch them open up to each other and offer each other a love that neither one expected. There is heartache and passion and even some pretty steamy dirty talk! D.H. gives you a powerful, emotional story about two people dealing with grief and trying to get past traumatic life experiences together.

The Hunted by H.J. Bellus
Wow. Loved this book! I fell in love with Van and his blue eyes and chiseled features right from the start. He is a mysterious bad boy and the way he instantly gets protective of Bay made my knees weak. He is a TRUE Alpha and refers to himself as “the Big Bad Wolf” (swoon). While he is a beast of a man with an extremely messed up past, his heart is filled with good intentions. Bay grew up sheltered and homeschooled and while she is new to a lot of experiences in life, she is strong-willed and focusing on her independence. Their relationship is extremely hot. Some of the scenes had me a little out of breath. This story is raw and gritty. It is not your average love story and deals with a lot of violence and suspense. The end made my head spin, but I didn’t want it to be over. Dark, sexy and a must read, for sure! [April 2016]

Thrown Down by Tessa Bailey

Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren
I LOVE a Christina Lauren story. Their signature style always draws me in from the first word. London is a new kind of heroine. She’s smart, she knows the score and she knows to keep Luke at arm’s reach. It as beautiful to see Luke’s growth through their story.~ Nelle [April 2016]

Emergency Engagement by Samanthe Beck
Samanthe Beck kicks off her Love Emergency series with Beau and Savannah’s story. I love that their simple “emergency engagement” story line is more complex than it seems. And as always, Samanthe Beck always brings the heat to the story. ~ Nelle [March 2016]

Undeniably You by Jewel E. Ann
I started reading and immediately fell in love with this book, especially Sydney and Lautner. Their story moves along quickly, mostly because they only have 30 days together. So there I was, happy with them and their story….then BAM!! It took a surprising turn. And I LOVED IT EVEN MORE! So well-written, so entertaining, so freaking HOT! Perfect.
I really enjoyed this book! Sydney and Lautner’s relationship is funny and sweet and you find yourself completely immersed in their whirlwind romance. Jewel E. Ann gives you everything in this story, including some REALLY hot & steamy scenes. It took a very surprising twist and things get emotional but it only makes you fall in love with this story even more. Read it! You won’t be disappointed. [March 2016]

Why Now? by Carey Heywood
I really enjoyed this book. It has romance, humor and so much emotion. Kacey has been madly in love with her best friend’s older brother Jake for most of her life. He never felt that way about her until he comes home for a visit and finds out she is now engaged to his best friend. Suddenly, she is no longer the pesky little girl he knew growing up. Jake and Kacey’s up and down journey is filled with passion and angst and you feel it every page you turn. I also couldn’t help but fall in love with Reilly and Heath. They gave the story such depth. Carey Heywood made each character so realistic, it was hard for me to decide who I wanted the best outcome for. Seriously, a great read from beginning to end.

Rock Redemption by Nalini Singh
I do love a good friends-to-lovers story, and this one is all about the friendship. We met Kit in book 1, but we really don’t find out why her and Noah had a falling out until this book. The book is all about Noah redeeming himself in Kit’s eyes, earning back her trust and friendship, so if you want the fast romance and sexy times, this book is not for you. We get a slow burn romance, a foundation of friendship and overcoming past demons . . . some worse than others. I think one of my favorite parts of the story was how Kit realized Noah needed something special to remain with her at night, and she changed her personal garden to enable him. *swoon*
Plus, we get to see the rest of the band and how their romances are still in the stratosphere.
Note: There is no cheating. I know that’s a hard limit for a lot of readers, so you are safe. -
Hooked by Love by Toni Aleo
I’m in love with a hockey player and his name is Jace Sinclair. He’s cocky, but in the cutest way. He’s loyal and loves fiercely. I loved the banter between him and Avery. I love that he made her feel special when no one else did. Their story deals with some serious issues, and it was handled beautifully. I’m sad to say that this is the first book I’ve read in the series, but I will definitely go back and read about the other Sinclair Brothers. [March 2016]

The Confessions by Tiffany Reisz
The Confessions is meant to be read by anyone who has an understanding of the Original Sinners world and has read the series at least through The King.
I was one of the lucky few to get to read The Confession of Marcus Sterns in 2014, so to have the next two parts – The Confession of Eleanor Schreiber and The Confession of Tiffany Reisz – is a treat and a half! And I say “treat and a half” with so much sarcasm, you can probably see my fake jazz hands from where you are.
Reading The Confessions is not a treat; it’s a necessity for Original Sinners fans. Getting the privilege of knowing the inner workings of a character’s innermost thoughts and struggles is why we love Tiffany Reisz’s writing. She’s a genius at unfolding the layers of human complexity, and to do it with such shamelessly naughty eroticism through the voices of Marcus/Søren and Eleanor/Nora is just… everything. Sebring by Kristen Ashley
The end of a series always brings the tears, and this one was special because KA somehow made us love the one guy we hated in the beginning of the series. I loved how the whole cast of this series showed up, and we got to see more of the healing dynamic between brothers. But KA sure does love pulling on the heartstrings in between the action and sex. I loved that she gave Nick a very strong woman who fought to give her whole self to him, and like most KA Alpha’s, once he found his Olivia, he knew she was the woman for him.
Freaking excellent! That may not mean much coming from a die-hart KA fangirl like me, but Sebring is definitely in my top 5 favorite KA books. And while I always love her crazy-alpha men, this time I fell completely in love with Olivia. Total girl crush. I can’t even begin to explain the hotness. H-A-W-T-ness! And the ending! GAH!! Everyone read it so we can discuss. Hurry. Go. Now.

Ultimate Sin by Clarissa Wild
This book is messed up and twisted but so very beautiful. It has several triggers so do not read if you do not enjoy dark and taboo. The story follows Ava, or number 5947. She is a slave and a sexual servant. She believes herself to be worthless and that everything she experiences in her awful life, she deserves. She is sold to a new Master, Marcus Knight, and the story follows her journey into a new life full of hope and love. Clarissa Wild gives you an intriguingly dark storyline with some pretty hot sex that will leave you feeling uncomfortable but unable to stop.

Changing Course: Wrecked and Ruined Book 1 by Aly Martinez
I can’t say enough about this amazing book!! It’s tragic and heartbreaking, but still so beautiful. Jesse is feisty and funny, shy but determined to win Brett’s heart. I fell in love with her from the start. This book will have you in tears, but it’s totally worth it!
I loved this book. Aly Martinez does such an amazing job at making you laugh and cry through out the entire thing. My heart broke for Brett and I found myself so wrapped up in his struggle with learning to let go and love again. The characters are relate-able and the story flows perfectly. I could not put it down.
What?? Did the self proclaimed lover of dark erotica just fall in love with a modern romance book? Well, I’d say I did. Congratulations to Aly Martinez! You have converted me! Loved the story between Brett and Jesse and I found myself staying up to read past my bedtime, and that says A LOT! Read this tragic and lovely story. You won’t be disappointed! Thanks, Aly!

Corrupt by Penelope Douglas
Holy Hell. Penelope Douglas sure knows how to write. I loved how she gives us glimpses of the past, to see how it all started, then switches to the present. All of the characters (the good and bad ones) are beautifully written and you’ll have a hard time hating most of them by the end. You will find yourself on the edge of your seat, wondering what’s coming next, thinking the story is going one way and then you hit a plot twist. This story definitely has dark overtones, but there is no excessive violence or sexual violence against Rika. You will get a book hangover from this story for sure, but it is so worth it.
Total. Book. Hangover. It’s been few days and I’m still not over it. I’m a HUGE fan of Penelope Douglas and her way of making you fall in love with the bad boy. In this case, there’s not one, but FOUR bad boys. I was sucked in from the first paragraph and hooked until the last word, totally addicted to this story…..and now I’m jonesing for Kai!!
I had a hard time putting this book down. Actually, I don’t think I put it down. I could not stop reading it. I NEEDED to know what was going to happen next. Penelope Douglas does an amazing job at pulling you in from Chapter one. Corrupt is a dark psychological thriller with the perfect amount of mindf*cking, lust-filled sex. I knew what I was reading was twisted and dirty but, dear God, I needed more. Seriously, it contains one of the hottest M/F/M sex scenes I have ever read. I am still thinking and fantasizing about “The Four Horsemen” days later even though I have a deep Love/Hate relationship with each of them. This book consumed me and I enjoyed every second of it.

Midnight Lily by Mia Sheridan
Dear God! Mia did it again. She engaged me in a story that keeps us guessing and totally engrosses me from the very first page. It doesn’t take long to ask #WhoIsLily and the journey is robust and riveting. AVOID SPOILERS AT ALL COSTS. ~ Nelle [March 2016]
My words of advice, take your time and savor this book. I rushed through it because I was so caught up in the words, the characters, the love story unfolding that when the first HUGE plot twist happened, I was completely blindsided. To be honest, I don’t think there are any hints to what is coming at that point. And I can’t say any more without spoiling this wonderful, mind fuck (in a good way) of a book. Just know that Mia has given us 2 characters you will love, once again, but that she has also expanded on her writing repertoire. I love her more as an author now after she obviously pushed her boundaries writing this love story. I may have even sent her a gushing message on Facebook after I finished.

Intimate by Jason Luke
It is hard to even put into words what this book is. The title says it all. Jason Luke gives you a one-on-one, intimate experience where he makes you question yourself and helps you connect with your needs and desires. He speaks directly to you and you can’t help but let the soothing seduction take over. It takes fantasy to a whole other level. You will walk away from this story feeling like you just had the most intense, erotic encounter of your life. #1click now, thank me later.
