Warning – triggers GALORE in Noc City. That being said, this book was intense in so many wonderful ways. The plot was dark and depraved. It really painted a heinous picture of the privileged males in society and just how far their corruption reached. This is a world of vampire and supernatural beings. Serenity finds herself in the middle of chaos after she is kidnapped and trying to find out who she can trust becomes much harder than she thought. Atlas, Merrick and Faust show her little mercy but the dynamic has cracks in it, letting the heat build and the attraction develop. This story is fast paced, rich in lust and incredibly creative when it comes to the plot. I cannot wait for book 2 to see how these characters develop and where the storyline goes!

Unsettled by A.J. Wolf
Wow, what a messed up little story A.J. Wolf concocted with Unsettled. It is littered with violence, murder, unconventional connections and mind bending twists. With bodies turning up non stop, the tension is constantly at an all time high. The origami butterfly’s left on each victims body was a creepy detail, adding a layer of mystery and psychological authenticity. The “romance” definitely takes a backseat in this thriller but nonetheless, I really enjoyed the characters and their dynamic -as twisted as it was. Hadley and Rhys individual stories are both sad and emotional but, together they form a weird bond that is its own rollercoaster of struggles. I LOVED that even though I figured out the secret I was still blown away by the ending which is not usually the case. The best part of this book was that A.J. did not use cheesy gimmicks to create a constant unnerving feeling or to build tension. The story was perfectly crafted and that made it that much more believable AND enjoyable!

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong
I was late to the party when it came to reading Chloe Gong’s debut novel. I’ve had family & friends telling me for months to read it and that I would love it. I think I was worried that after all the hype, I would be let down but, let me tell you, it could not be more of the opposite. From the beautiful, wildly vivid descriptions of 1920s Shanghai to the very nostalgic, creative parallels this book has to Romeo & Juliet, I was completely entranced. I wanted SO MUCH MORE between Juliette and Roma. Not because Chloe did not deliver but because she created two fascinating characters that together, ignited this story to a whole other level. I loved their secret moments. Their struggle between their pasts and their present. I loved their moments together, even when they were arguing and at each others throats. I kept hoping for more. There are so many layers to this book. The politics, the monsters, the feud, the forbidden romance. What an amazing debut.

The Murder Between Us by Tal Bauer
I have a lot of friends who, like me, enjoy true crime as much as romance and erotica. And this story is the perfect hybrid of the two worlds. Noah Downing, Assistant SAC for the FBI in Des Moines meets a handsome mystery man during a convention in Vegas. Imagine his surprise when he shows up connected to a series of murder cases in his jurisdiction. This book is perfectly balanced. You find yourself rushing from the highs of falling in love and scorching sex to the horror of a serial killer’s world. It is a wild ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Stark White by Yolanda Olson
Once again Yolanda delivers the type of twisted horror that I’ve come to love and look forward to. Seeing Troy Cahill again was like bumping into an old friend. If that old friend is a delusional psychopath who collects girls like dolls 🤦♀️ Poor Daisy has no idea what she is in for but finds out very quickly just how crazy he is. The characters Yolanda creates are always so uniquely done and the emotional hell she describes is enough to make you get up and check to make sure that your doors are locked. The “sexual” moments definitely swim in the creepy side of the “erotic” pool but lets be real, you do not read Yolanda for the feel good romance moments. Very intrigued to see if Troy’s “garden of flowers” continues to grow.

Fallen by Mia Sheridan
In this mysterious and often troubling tale, Mia submerges you completely into this insanely deranged house and the even more demented nearby town. Secrets ooze out of the walls and the surrounding forest, haunting you with every turn of the page. There are trigger warnings all over this spooky psychological thriller, but I could NOT put it down. You know you’ve got good character development in a book when you can’t decide if you love them or hate them, and this story is jam packed with people just like that. Once again Mia delves into the depraved neurosis of the human mind and tugs at the heartstrings of humanity like only she can, with another well written adventure that I thoroughly enjoyed. Bravo my friend…bravo!

Control by Tracie Delaney
This is my new favorite book by Tracie, and I have claimed Nico as mine. The thought of his dirty talking, foul mouth, with his British accent, makes my toes curl. The action starts right away, and the excitement of the world of race cars runs throughout the story. Nico is an adorable asshole, Everly is a wonderful leading lady, and Rhett is as adorable as he is ornery. The twist and turns in the story had me gasping out loud and yelling at the characters in the book. And the sexy times were off the charts hot. Read this one today, and you won’t be sorry.

Dream Chaser by Kristen Ashley
This is only book two, but I love this series. I love the old KA vibe…the funny rolled in with the emotion is what made me fall in love her writing. Dream Chaser is a bit different than the Dream Maker in that there’s a D/s theme. I’m no expert on D/s relationships, but I know an expert (looking at you, Dear Mistress) and to me, this part of Boone and Ryn’s relationship added nothing to the story. That being said, it didn’t take anything away from the story either. There’s a lot going on in Ryn’s life….her dysfunctional family, being kidnapped (again), and she’s been thrown into the middle of a bad cop investigation. If you’re familiar with KA alphas, you know that’s what they live for!! Dream Chaser is jam-packed with action, humor, romance and sexy times and the cameos from old KA heroes is icing on the cake.

The Invitation by Vi Keeland
An office romance with the perfect amount of angst and heat! Hudson and Stella have the sort of chemistry the blazes off the pages. Their relationship started in the strangest way and it was so fun to watch it bloom into something great. As usual, Vi Keeland brings a few amazing twists that just add to the depth of the story. It’s quirky, romantic, sexy and heartbreaking at times, but love and fate always win in the end!

Cellar Door by Trisha Wolfe
Trisha Wolfe is a go-to author for me. Her books always deliver a suspenseful, erotic world that consumes you from the first chapter. I wanted to hate Luke after he kidnapped Makenna but it was easy to see that there was more to him than meets the eye. He is rough around the edges, living behind a hard exterior so he can do his job but finds it hard to control himself once she is in his control. Secrets are reveled leading to twists and turns that bring about an explosive finale and once the chemistry between them boils over, there is no stopping the lust fueled train. There is a lot of inner turmoil for each of these characters and Trisha’s storytelling always leads to brilliant character development and nail biting plots. I honestly could not put this book down.

The Scandal by Cassie Verano
Wow. This book is so HOT! 🔥🔥🔥 Dante & Indigo’s dynamic made my heart race. The are levels of kink involved in this story that are simply delicious. Dante, a Dom, takes on the task of helping Indigo find her own as a Dom and what takes place is beyond sexy. Cassie Verano describes each scene in such a sultry way, leaving no details out and delivering some out of control chemistry. I honestly loved reading about Indigo’s hesitancy throughout the beginning because it really made her relatable. Dante continuously reassured her, helping her find her confidence, referring to her as “Queen” and worshipping over every inch of her body. The sex between them is RIDICULOUS and seeing the affect she had on him made it even more powerful. To sum it up, Cassie Verano delivers levels of kinky hotness in this story that even the coldest of showers could not douse.

Noir Reformatory First Offense by Lexi C. Foss and J.R. Thorn
Just when I thought I had this world figured out, along came the twists that blew my mind. The characters made me fall in love with them, and the ending made me wonder when the next book was coming out. Novak is one of the most interesting characters that I have read in a long time, but Auric is also a new book boyfriend for me. Layla grows a lot, from a sheltered Princess into a future Queen, and it’s wonderful to watch. There’s never a dull moment in this book, and by the time I was done, my brain was spinning with all of the possibilities. I cannot recommend this series enough!!!

MANifesting by Haley Travis
Allie stole my heart from the beginning of this story. Being a control freak, she is everything I love and more in a human haha! When she unexpectedly meets yummy Kellan, both are thrown into a unpredictable romance that is almost too perfect to believe. They deal with doubts and hesitation, but cannot deny the chemistry between one another. I liked that this book was quick moving and extremely charming. Being a big believer in focusing on manifesting ones own happiness I was thrilled to see Haley Travis really making that a key theme throughout.

The Escort Part One by C. Firecox
This is a brand new author (well, actually a pseudonym for a Bestselling author) that I stumbled across accidentally, and I was really impressed by the story. I am amazed that such a short novella could accomplish so much. It sets up a dark, mysterious world, while simultaneously introducing well developed characters, and starting a super hot romance. There is one scene in particular that just pushed all of my buttons, and – whew, yeah! It does have some darkness (murder, dubious consent) in it, and it also ends at a tense spot, so be warned if those things aren’t for you. Part Two comes out on 2/4/21. I am looking forward to finding out what happens in this series, and in seeing what else this author comes up with!

The Art of Loving Ellie by Loren Beeson
I am always such a sucker for a story that is set in New York City. Add in a young artist and a heart-warming relationship and you got me hook, line and sinker. Ellies character instantly drew me in. She was just so incredibly relatable as a person, going through the trials of life, dealing with panic attacks and contemplating her career path. I adored Tyler and his pursuit of Ellie. Watching him try to break through her guarded walls was one of my favorite aspects of this book. Loren Beeson writes an incredibly detailed and compelling story. I honestly cannot believe this is her debut novel. Her descriptions of the city, the characters and the emotional triumphs and downfalls throughout this story are that of a seasoned author. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from her!

The Light Beneath the Dark by J.P. Sayle
Lincoln and Mason had such a delicious little story in book 1 of this series. Linc is the pres of the MC and he is everything you’d expect him to be. Strong-willed, rugged, rough around the edges. The fact that his niece River has him wrapped around her little finger just makes him even more swoon worthy. When he finds himself in some trouble, he turns to his law firm and in walks Mason. The two are pretty opposite but they do say opposites attract. Their dynamic runs hot and cold at times, but soon lines between them become blurred and what comes from that is nothing short of an emotional connection too hot to touch.

F*cked: Being Sexually Explorative and Self-Confident in a World That’s Screwed by Krystyna Hutchinson & Corinne Fisher
I recently discovered and fell in love with this podcast so when I saw that they had written a book, I knew I had to read it. It is funny, thought-provoking, real and provocative. They aren’t afraid to talk about the things people don’t want to talk about openly. Topics such as sex, love, promiscuous agendas and taboo desires make you feel like you aren’t alone in the world which, at times, can feel very lonely. It teaches confidence and authenticity in a way that makes you laugh and really think about the ways in which YOU are holding YOURSELF back. I wish I had read this when I was coming into my sexuality. It would have saved me a lot of soul searching!

Spiked Roses: The Top Shelf Series by Alta Hensley
I was so happy to have these six stories in one place! This is such a fun series, filled with danger, action, lust and carnal pleasure. All of the stories in this set focus around The Spiked Rose, which is a gentleman’s club and you will find that the characters in each story are just as eccentric and wild as the club itself. Each story focuses on the five owners and the glimpse inside of their wildly dangerous worlds. I enjoyed reading the stories back to back and with Alta’s writing, it is hard not to be fully immersed inside the world itself.

Scarlett Thief by Lucy Smoke and A.J. Macey
This book has so many things I enjoyed that I’m having trouble deciding which one is my favorite. It’s got hot criminals, edge of your seat action, stress inducing suspense, and super hot BDSM action. Scarlett’s growth as a character is so fun to watch as she learns to trust her men. And her men are just drool worthy. I’ve also recommended Sweet Possession, the first book of this series, but you can also enjoy this one without having read Sweet Possession. Grab this one today and you won’t be sorry!

The Sacrifice by Jessica Gadziala
This book was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! Holy crap! Who knew witches and demons could get down like that? I am a big fan of the show Supernatural so sometimes I like to dive into the paranormal books that lead down that similar road of rugged men and the sexy Succubi they just cannot resist. Poor Lenore is given as the witch sacrifice by her coven to the demons and it sets off an attraction unlike anything else. Lycus simply cannot control himself around her and the lust between them is so insanely hot. There is this very carnal, raw, sexy energy surrounding the two of them that I just could not get enough of. I really hope this is just the beginning of these characters. I am dying to know more about the coven, past sacrifices and how it all began!

Midnight Fae Academy Book 3 by Lexi C. Foss
Lexi C. Foss builds such immersive worlds that you cannot help being sucked in, until you find yourself devouring her words and then begging for more. She also has a way of setting things up only to later turn everything upside down, and as she does so she leads you through all the emotions. MFA 3 lives up to and exceeds these expectations. As pieces of the mystery get solved, other pieces twist and turn, and it makes it impossible to put the book down!!! One thing is for certain, though, and that is that Aflora is growing into a kickass heroine that you cannot help but root for! Start this series today, and you will not regret it.

Noxious by Yolanda Olson and Jennifer Bene
Afytn and Willa are two of the craziest characters I have encountered in a long time. I knew going into this book, written by two of my favorite horror authors, I was in store for an intense thrill ride and I was definitely not disappointed. Romance, and I use that word very loosely, is barely present in this story. There is more of an evil, tantalizing lust lurking beneath the surface that you aren’t sure is fueled by real attraction or just straight up careless obsession. I loved reading about some of the old faces from previous stories and really look forward to the next part of this crazy tale.

Not Your Average Vixen by Krista Sandor
I really didn’t expect to laugh as much as I did while reading this book but it was quite a pleasant surprise! Bridget and Soren have the type of chemistry that pulls you in the moment they meet. It is based on pure physical attraction but quickly develops into something neither one was looking for. Both preoccupied with life. Both destined for something more fulfilling. You will feel a tug of war between them that is scorching at times. The story is very fast and extremely sexy. Soren knows exactly how to make Bridget melt in his hands and it leads to some insanely sensual moments.

He Sees You When You’re Sleeping by Sara Dobie Bauer
Who knew that Christmas could be dark? I don’t even know where to begin with this review because the story is unlike anything I have ever read before. It is the darker side of Father Christmas. The one that dabbles in death and voyeur-like sexual encounters. Kris and Jack’s story is one of intrigue and sadness. I had no idea where this unique love story was taking my emotions but, by the end, I found myself completely captivated with their excruciating beautiful journey. Go into this story blind. You will be blown away.

Soulless by Jade West
I waited and waited and waited for the continuation of Lucian and Elaine’s story, eagerly needing to know what was next for them and their unique dynamic. Heartless was so unbelievably captivating that I knew this trilogy would be an instant favorite of mine and Soulless continues that momentum for me. It goes even further into the depths of depravity and Lucien keeps the heat level at an all time kinky high. Their backstories were extremely eye opening and really set the tone for the way they currently are. The scenes are beyond vivid, you read about her gagging and actually feel yourself gagging yourself since the writing is so descriptive. Some of the intense scenes border as abuse at times, so if that is a trigger for you, do not read this. Jade West is a no-brainer read for me as she delivers the type of perverted erotica that only a select few love to indulge in and I am 1000% one of them!
-
Micaela’s Big Bad by Tijan
I know it seems odd reading a Halloween novella in December but when it is Tijan, the norm just doesn’t apply! This book is full of excitement and action. I do not do many paranormal/fantasy books but when I saw that Micaela was an “energist”, I had to give it a try as it is something that has always peaked my interest. It is pretty wild reading about the different types of “beings” and how they all interact. Rakon and Micaela have a very interesting connection and chemistry. It is extremely sensual at times and powerful. The writing really paints the picture of a vivid world filled with magic and mystery. You will laugh a lot as well, which is always a plus! Tijan is a master of her craft and this novella is no exception.

Torn Apart by K Webster and Nikki Ash
What a wild web of romance these two authors created in this story. It flips between MM and MFMM but it is not solely focused on the sexual intimacy between these four characters. It is so much deeper than that. There are dynamics between Ashton and Mia that are completely different and more complex then that of Mia and Drew. Mix in Brayden with all of this and you have yourself quite the crazy love affair. There is so much passion and angst packed into this book and it feels extremely emotional at times, driving home how society feels the need to label us all causing confusion and chaos at times. Love is love through it all and, it doesn’t matter who you love as long as it is genuine and makes you happy. I loved the emphasis on that and each of their relationships. You truly walk away feeling like you know these characters and what they want and desire. Plus, the sexual chemistry is extremely hot and provocative. I will be diving right into book 2 of this duet!

NOW AVAILABLE: Read my ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ recommendation of book 2, Bound Together! -
Court of Midnight by Helen Scott and Lucinda Dark
Even before book two ended in a decidedly unhappy spot, I know I was really looking forward to the conclusion of this trilogy, and it certainly did not disappoint. This book has it all – there were plot twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat, there were steamy scenes that drew me in and wrapped themselves around me, and there were battle scenes that made me cry and cheer! This series brought me on an epic adventure with a conclusion that made it all worthwhile. Read this series today, and you won’t regret it!!!

Elemental Fae Holiday by Lexi C. Foss and J.R. Thorn
It was amazing for me to be back in the world of the Elemental Fae, but even if you haven’t read the EFA trilogy, you can still enjoy this holiday treat. Claire and her five mates have decided to have a baby! Don’t worry, though, they still have a lot of time to indulge each other in steamy times. I love all of these characters, I love the plot of this story, and I love that there is still an underlying plot with extra substance mixed in with all of the fun. It’s all woven together so masterfully that this book is a really fun read. Start it today and if you haven’t already, continue with the EFA complete trilogy!

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola
I became obsessed with this holiday story very quickly. Nick and Miranda have this insane attraction between them that literally takes hold of you and pulls you in. I was insanely flipping through the pages to see how their secret romance played out. I liked that even though there was a layer of sneaking around, the drama remained relatively low. The lust between them is very real and very hot and I always enjoy when the man instantly feels possessive of the woman. It makes the connection even hotter. Definitely work this book into your holiday preparation schedule this year!
