April (Silver) is searching for a way to let go and achieve the big O. I related so much to her struggle to shut her mind off and be in the moment of pleasure. When she starts the class her friend signed her up for, you can tell that Michael is drawn to her instantly and their chemistry is so freaking hot. The pleasure he gets watching and helping her break through the wall can be felt through the descriptive words Rae writes. This book gets INSANELY HOT at times 🔥🔥🔥! You will be completely immersed in their journey.

Beautifully Painted by Charity Parkerson
Milo and Dawson’s story is one of struggle and denial. Years of being around each other have led them to deny their feelings and pretend that the love between them does not exist. Their relationship is beautiful and pure, growing from foster brothers to enemies of sorts then back to soulmates. Their connection is intense and hot! The built up passion is excruciating at times, begging to be unleased. Their “relationship” doesn’t come without its hurdles though – like Milo’s mother who I hated – but Dawson eventually lets his heart guard come down and it is totally worth the wait!

Vicious Lies by Ella Miles
Ella Miles packed so much action and suspense into this book, it left my head spinning! Liesel and Langston have a very toxic dynamic. The “cat and mouse” game between them builds some of the hottest sexual chemistry I have seen in a book in quite some time. It was hard to see past their hate for one another at times and recognize that there is a foundation of feelings there. Make no mistake though, there is a lot of back and forth between them and you will question what are the truths and what are the lies. I kept thinking “who has the most to lose here?” The story ends on a cliffhanger that will have your jaw on the floor but don’t let that stop you from diving into this book!

Violet Slays by Lexi C. Foss
This recommendation is for Violet Slays by Lexi C. Foss, released as part of the EVIE Anthology, which is a fundraiser for the Best Friends Animal Society. I cannot wait to read the rest of the stories in this Anthology! But first, Violet Slays. The heat between Violet and Cassius is toe curling, and their story kept me guessing about what was going to happen next. Putting this story down was simply not an option. The supporting characters were also amazing, especially Violet’s Hellhound familiar, Luci, and the world was immersive, leaving me wanting to know more about the vampires in it. Jump into this world today, and you will not be sorry!!!

All the Lies by Charlotte Byrd
This was such a great book! Emma’s story started off as a heartbreaking and sad tale when her engagement to Alex ends after she discovers his affair. While her family is not overly supportive, she finds strength and hope in a stranger who turns out to be her lifesaver in more ways than one. You will get so wrapped up in the layers of twisted secrets and lies throughout this book. There is an explosive passion between Liam and Emma that felt natural and safe. This book really kept me captured the whole time but beware… there is a cliffhanger!

Pretty Little Savage by Lucy Smoke
I was in a bit of a reading slump when I picked this book up, but it turned me around quickly. The story sucked me in and wouldn’t let me go, and I read it in one sitting. I could not put it down. Avalon and Dean are such well written characters, and their chemistry is undeniable. They are both messed up, but also magnetic and strong. The twists and turns kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I highly recommend this one! Just a warning, though, if you don’t like dark, and if you have triggers, including lack of consent and drug use, this might not be the book for you.

After the Kiss by Stephanie Nicole Norris
This short story was the perfect little palate cleanser for me in between books. It is fun, charming and full of built up passion and chemistry. Isaac and Erica were childhood friends for 30 years and finally give in to their feelings. It is a feel-good tale that will leave you hopeful and happy.

To Protect & Swerve by B. Love
This story is SMOKING! 🔥 🔥 🔥 Larisa cannot help but be attracted to everything Apollo is. He is the epitome of what she craves in a Dom. I thought his character was so well crafted. He is strong and demanding while being attentive and soft. She can’t help but open herself up to him, and not just sexually. Trust me though, their sex scenes are so beyond intense and dirty, you will need a cold shower when you are done. Seeing their interactions evolve from physical to emotional was beautiful. How lucky to find everything you want and desire in life in one person.

A Borrowed Life by Kerry Anne King
I needed to switch it up. I have been reading so many dark and twisted stories lately I was craving something different. Something unique. I am so happy I stumbled upon A Borrowed Life. It is a story that is so much more than finding ones self and living a life that makes you happy. It is about second chances. It is about heartache and love. It is about growth and relationships. It is about testing ones beliefs and coming to terms with the fact that ones happiness can be from many different things. Things you wouldn’t even expect. Watching Liz fight for her own mental freedom was exhilarating. Freedom from her late husbands beliefs. From the town’s gossip and opinions. From her daughters resentment and hovering eyes. She was so much stronger than she even knew she could be and even though she is middle age, this felt like a coming of age tale. Kerry Anne King really laced this sentimental book with humor and realistic dialogue and the delivery was spot-on!

Riggs’ Ruin by Nicola Jane
Who knew that combining MC and Mafia life could create such an explosive result? Anna finds herself wrapped around Reggie’s crime ridden finger and constantly wants to escape. After finding herself in Riggs path, who just happens to be the President of the local MC, tug of war begins. The back and forth felt endless in this book and you could completely grasp what a predicament Anna was in. I kept feeling as if Riggs was going to swoop in and save the day, but I loved that he let it play out as it did. There is a power struggle between the two alphas, but you will only be rooting for one in the end!

Captive by Brook Wilder
Captive is a fast paced book that creates a very dark and hostile story centered around Emma and Artem. He takes her captive as an act of revenge and vows to become her husband and master by the end of it all. You watch her go through the steps of being scared for her life, wearing a collar, being talked down to and treated lower than one would treat a criminal but the more time she spends around Artem, the more her body begins to betray her. And once the body starts, it is only a matter of time before the heart follows… right? You can see the beginning or sparks between them and it helps take the edge off of Artem. I am not sure where the story is headed though! Cannot wait for book two.

Wood by AE Via
There are few things I enjoy more than a good redemption story. Unless it is a good redemption story, with romantic tension and super hot sex as a pay off! Wood and Trent are the latest of A E Via’s blue collar heroes. It is refreshing to see real characters dealing with real life issues instead of the brooding billionaires throwing cash at problems. This is an engaging story with men fighting to escape their pasts and to build a life together.

Predator by Londyn Quinn
While there were scorching bursts of heat between Phoenix and Ciara, the intense physical connection pales in comparison to the deep rooted romance that grew between these two. Phoenix is the type of alpha that you want to devour… or who you let devour you! Ciara is an extremely strong character and honestly is the perfect match for him. Londyn creates this beautiful, sexy tension between them and their chemistry thrives through the chaos that this story is. The plot sends you on a crazy, thrilling ride through suspenseful drops and surprising twists and ends you at a place that has you salivating for the next book!

Wild Fire by Kristen Ashley
Let me start by saying I’ll take ANY chance to reconnect with Chaos. It’s definitely my favorite series from Kristen Ashley. This being a novella, I was totally expecting the insta-love, which is why I was surprised that Dutch and Georgiana hated each other at first sight. But in true KA-Alpha-man fashion, Dutch knew what he wanted and went after it. Luckily for him (and me) he didn’t have to work too hard as Georgie was right there with him. Wild Fire has everything we love about a KA novel packed in to 220 pages…badass women, laughs, love and steamy romance. This is a story about family, the one you’re born into and the one you choose. The brotherhood of Chaos is still going strong and I hope it always does.

Queen Move by Kennedy Ryan
Kennedy Ryan writes powerful stories about powerful characters that always have some kind of powerful underlying social/emotional messages, and Queen Move is no exception! Sometimes a second chance romance isn’t so cut and dry… time and life change you, connections and obligations are complicated and often messy. This story is right up my ally! It gives a perfect balance of sweet and innocent flashback history, serendipitous attachment, modern day angst and strife and fiery adult heat that make up the reason I read romance novels. Add in a great starring and support cast and what you’ve got is a book I can happily and enthusiastically recommend! Although Queen Move is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone, as I haven’t read the others in the series yet either.

Hunger by S.E. Law
I am on a forbidden love kick lately and the plot for S.E. Law’s new book seemed to fit right into my mood. Britney and John are enamored with one another the moment they meet but there are several hurdles in their way. The dynamic is hot and in a way taboo – age difference, boss/employee, etc. There is slight drama which just made the story even more interesting and paved the way for a happily ever after.

Playing Again by Anna Edwards
This is a novella from Anna Edwards Quick Snap world, and the best way I can describe it is super hot. The chemistry between Zeke and Arabella is so hot, and my fantasies will now include a muscular football players with dreadlocks, thanks to Zeke. The story is fast paced, as it’s a second chance romance, and the insta-lust is endearing and sexy. It made me want to read the other books in the series! Grab this one today and you will not be sorry!

Southern Storms by Brittainy Cherry
Brittainy’s words are like reading poetry. Her stories embed themselves into your heart, leaving a warmth of feelings and sometimes twinges of pain that didn’t exist before you read them. People are complex and the character building of this story hits a depth that many authors attempt, but rarely achieve…at least for me. Southern Storms is a sweet yet sad, small town story of two quirky people who have only ever really fit in with each other, and their healing of tragic circumstances through the rekindling of their childhood friendship, self rediscovery and adulthood romance. I loved this story, I loved the characters and supporting characters, and I look forward to reading more standalone’s of this series to come!

His Precious Secret by Jenna Rose
For anyone who loves good taboo erotica, Jenna Rose delivers quite the hot, little stepfather/ stepdaughter story with His Precious Secret. Rick gave off that alpha vibe from page one. Even his stepdaughter can’t resist his powerful charm and the heat between them is instant. The fact that things were over between Rick and Taylor’s mom because she cheated definitely helped me sink deeper into this tale. The sex between them is everything you’d imagine it to be because it is forbidden. I was even able to get past the whole “call me Daddy” thing because the intensity keeps you so engaged. Attraction is a powerful fire starter and this fire gets sizzling hot!

Heartless by Jade West
Since Jade is one of my “I’ll read anything she writes” authors, I didn’t hesitate to dive into Heartless the moment it was released. Man, she creates characters and book realities that are so cruel and crazy at times, it is hard to believe it was born from someones mind. Lucian hates Elaine and her family but what happens when lust filled rage begins to be fueled by desire? Can love really be born from hate? Lucian is sadistic and cruel in every way possible and even though Elaine knows this, she can’t help but be drawn to him – “He could’ve snapped my neck with his fingers still inside me, and I knew it.” This story is deeply twisted in many ways and I am not sure if there will be a HEA in the second part but I am also not 100% sure I want one!

Flirting with 40 by K. Bromberg
I’m used to a lot of angst from Bromberg, so this was a surprising twist! Blakely is 39, newly divorced and dealing with a horrible boss. Enter Slade…a gorgeous doctor a few years younger than Blakely. While taking an unwanted break from work, his life goal is to give Blakely her mojo back. Flirting with 40 is fun, sexy and so very sweet! Slade is everything you want in a hero, you’ll totally swoon over his antics. This fun and flirty romance will have you smiling from start to finish!

Where the Truth Lives by Mia Sheridan
Y’all I’m having a personal conundrum with this book. I refuse to believe that my favorite author who writes the most beautiful stories of love, humanity, perseverance, triumph over adversity, etc etc etc could write something so graphically dark and nerve wracking. But I digress, because the Mia I know writes human emotion like no other and I guess it was only a matter of time until the depravity of the human condition came out through her fingers and mind. Ultimately, this story still has all of the reasons I love Mia’s words, just in a deliciously darker package than is her norm. This book is a follow up book to Where The Blame Lies, which is also a romantic thriller and I suggest reading that one first so you don’t get confused with the backstory (my review of that one is linked below). All of that being said, I had legit nightmares reading this story and had to pick up something sugary sweet to cleanse my mind after, lol! But seriously…it’s SOOOOO GOOD! I was turning pages well into the late night with a newborn on board because I could not put it down. It is NOT for the faint at heart and has multiple trigger warnings, so read at your own risk. But really…read it.

The Collector by Vi Carter
I love a good mafia book and was happy to see that Vi Carter kept the story fresh and unique. The characters are strong in their own ways and definitely kept the story interesting, introducing different elements and twists within the plot. Nicholai is a very powerful, alpha male who is sent to “collect” Mila. What should’ve been a simple job turns into a very complex, dangerous situation as attachment begins to evolve between the two. Mila is tough and sexy in her own ways and the fact that she could see past Nicholai’s “profession” makes this gritty and raw book a bit more versatile. There is a softness there among the ugliness of this story -” I glance down as large tattooed hands wrap around my waist. I’m staring at them, wondering how something so dangerous looking could be so gentle. ” I am looking forward to more of this series!

Trillion by Winter Renshaw
Whenever I read a book where a rich business man pursues a love interest for personal gain I always try to put myself into the girls shoes. What would a contract have to offer me in order for me to sell myself to someone? I actually felt for Sophie. The choice she made was for her family and I loved her for that. Trey is delicious in every sense of the word – “…a minute later Trey steps out, white towel wrapped low around his hips. His abs glisten, still damp, and droplets of water form rivulets down his shoulders. The scent of soap and cedar fills the air, and when his gaze meets mine, he smiles—dimples and all.” She tries to fight falling for him but everything about him is swoon worthy. He is obsessively possessive of her and I love how they both become unexpectedly connected. She saves him as much as he saves her.

Bad Girl by Lisa Lace
I want to say this is sort of a play on Romeo & Juliet but less “we are going to kill ourselves if we can’t be together” and more “everyone wants to keep us apart but destiny has other plans.” Lucas and Ivy aren’t exactly “star-crossed lovers” but they have known each other for most their lives and because of a falling out with their fathers, they are supposed to hate one another. Lucas sees it very differently though and begins pursuing Ivy much to her disapproval. There is a lot of push and pull in the beginning but as Lucas begins to break down her walls and she lets him in, there is a very wholesome, natural attraction there fueled by lust and eventually love. I really loved the strength of their chemistry and bond as challenges arise and the scenes between them get pretty hot. He pushes her outside of her comfort zone and it’s incredibly sexy. Lisa Lace created a very entertaining build up between them and it made for a great romance.

C-26 by D.D. Lorenzo
This is truly a beautiful love story. There is no other way to describe it. What Dreams May Come is one of my all time favorite, heartbreaking movies and this is on that same level. I actually started crying after reading the prologue and knew this book would destroy me but I did not even hesitate to jump right in. Sky and Dash are whole other level love. He is enamored with her and their connection is “other worldly”. I was completely wrapped up in their dynamic and how Sky quickly became his everything — “This woman—this beautiful, complicated woman—was changing his perception of what lovemaking should be. He wanted to make her feel like a goddess.” I cannot go into much detail because this book really needs to be experienced blindly but just know it is absolute magic in every sense of the word.

A Guy Walks Into My Bar by Lauren Blakely
I love it when popular authors stretch out of their comfort zones. Lauren Blakely has been a star in the M/F world for a while and she is venturing into the M/M arena. And she nails it! All of the passion and humor she is known for transfers seamlessly. There is Fitz, a super sexy hockey star looking for a vacation fling in London. When you combine him with Dean, a super focused, sarcastic pub owner you get witty, sarcastic banter, off the charts chemistry, and molten hotel sex. I loved seeing them get the classic Rom-Com treatment and I am waiting on the edge of my seat for more hot men from this author.

In Strange Woods by Claire Cray
I was so captivated by the synopsis of this book that I instantly 1-clicked. Murder, mystery, heartbreak, passion all come together to create this beautiful story of Hunter and James. After a devastating loss, James finds himself in a new place surrounded by new people and some suspicious circumstances. You find out that his meeting Hunter is less fate and more based on history. James is sweet and vulnerable and Hunter acts as his saving grace in many ways. Claire Cray can write some delicious M/M scenes, let me tell you! This story has many layers but is really well done and the character development comes full circle which is always very satisfying.

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover
This book is sad. Not sad like ‘Ol Yeller sad, but sad like a black cloud follows these characters. The mood of the whole book is sad, yet I could not put it down. I don’t like sad, especially in this crazy time, but Colleen Hoover has a way of making sad enjoyable. I loved this book. It’s a story about fighting the life you’re dealt and coming out on top. It’s about learning to love when you’ve never felt what love is. It’s a beautiful story about survival and family and soul mates. It’s a little different than the usual angsty story we get from CoHo, but it’s riveting and heartfelt. You’ll find yourself rooting for Beyah and Samson, especially after the s**t hits the fan. Be prepared to stay up all night, this is one you’ll finish in one sitting.

Cross My Heart by Shanjida Nusrath Ali
I have been thinking about this story for a bit since finishing it. While I definitely categorize it as a darker book, it felt like a different kind of dark. Lucifer and Theia’s story is an emotional ride through the pits of hell. The things both go through, Theia especially, are gut-wrenchingly cruel and heartbreakingly sad. That being said, their journey is a beautiful disaster. Everything about it seems almost too much at times, but not in a bad way. Even the chemistry and sex between them will overwhelm your senses. This isn’t a book you blow through but one to savor.
