If you have read my other recommendations, you know I love stories with twisting, turning plots that keep me on the edge of my seat. But there is also room in my heart for some good, old-fashioned smut. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into with this book, but it turned out to be the latter, and I really enjoyed it. There’s a little bit of plot to this book, and some of it is heart wrenching, but for the most part, this is an RH story with a very accepting heroine and her four lovers, all of whom are monsters. It’s deliciously dirty fun, with so much steam that I am surprised the pages don’t light themselves on fire. It’s a perfect get away from it all kind of read. If you need an escape from reality, read this one today!!!

Watercolor Skulls by LM Terry
I could not wait to read Lily and Dan’s story after finishing Sugar and Skulls. Lily has had an interesting life filled with sadness, abuse and trauma. When she finally makes the decision to escape into a life of her own, the results are everything she had ever dreamt about. Watching her come into her own was so beautiful after seeing her overcome so many obstacles . Honestly, I really believe her meeting Dan is what saved her life. He is intense and smoking hot and his connection to Lily is beyond captivating. There was a perfect balance of sex, drama, humor and darkness. Control, abuse and violence are sprinkled throughout, so reader beware. I loved seeing my favorite characters from Sugar and Skulls and was pleasantly surprised to see how they played a role in Lily’s life. LM Terry is really knocking it out of the park with this new MC series.

Scout and the Lavender Girl by Kelly Fox
When I began to ask my friends about F/F books I should explore this one came up over and over. And I am already a fan of Kelly Fox’s M/M series so I dove in! I was not disappointed! The story starts out as a light, fluffy rom com, complete with meet cute. This uses one of my favorite tropes with the grumpy Scout doing her best to keep her distance from smart, sunshiny Evie. But this only highlights the sexual tension between the two. After a few close calls they surrender to the inevitable and it is explosive! This story is a perfect if you are looking to expand your reading!

A Soft Touch by Laura Lascarso
I love a book that teaches me something even when it is turning me on. In this case, Ezra, one of the heroes is autistic. The few times that I have come across a neurodivergent character they were always in the supporting cast and portrayed as sweet innocents that must be protected at all costs. Ezra is a fully realized character. He is smart, self sufficient, and able to express what he needs and wants. In this book that is Roman, a neurotypical, retired football player turned restauranteur. I’ll admit at first I was concerned about an uneven power dynamic but the author has done an amazing job balancing clear boundaries and consent with amazingly hot sex. It is a surprising read but worthy of a place on the reread shelf.

Requiem of the Soul by A. Zavarelli and Natasha Knight
When I saw that these two powerhouse authors were putting out a new series, I knew reading book one was a no brainer for me. This is a MUST READ for my dark lovers! This story is dirty, disturbing and so deliciously depraved that you will be questioning what is right and what is wrong. It all revolves around an arranged marriage that is born out of hate and revenge. Santiago is BRUTAL in every way possible. He wants to own Ivy. Destroy her. But one of the things I enjoyed most about this story is that even though Ivy goes through hell, she is strong AF and puts up quite the fight when it comes to being pushed around. She knows what she has to do for her family and that Santiago has EVERY intention of destroying her. What happens when the two of them collide is gloriously wicked and intoxicatingly sexy. It has elements of BDSM and there are triggers there… it it a mafia world after all. I will warn that it ends on a cliffhanger that will blow your mind but have no fear, book 2 is here!

Is There Still Room In Your Life For Me? by Will Manwill
This story is the perfect combination of second chances and redemption. Jake is starting a new chapter in his life after managing the grief of losing his husband. Unfortunately, this chapter starts with putting his restaurant empire on hold to take over the family restaurant for his ailing father. Plus, he has to contend with being a single father, his super religious, disapproving mother, and finding out that his childhood crush is gay after all. This story is low angst and low heat but has enough drama and chemistry to keep you hooked. This book is begging to be at the top of your summer reading list!

Mine by Linzvonc
This was definitely an enjoyable read by Linzvonc, who really painted such a sexy picture of two people destined to be together but struggling to take the leap. Gretchen & Cal have a friendship with a heavy underlying attraction and sizzling chemistry and once it kicks off, it goes from PG to XXX real fast! Gretchen is still coming into her own and discovering what makes her hot and Cal is MORE than happy to help her figure it out. It isn’t just focused on the sex between them though. There are other relationships, emotions and twists that pull this entire story together. Mine is well written, the characters are dynamic and complicated and the sex scenes are 🔥🔥🔥!!! Diving into the next one ASAP!

Stone Cold Queen by Lucy Smoke
Lucy Smoke’s Sick Boys are what dreams are made of. OK, honestly, if I met them or Avalon in real life, I would run the other way. However, it is super fun to read about them and pretend to be part of their twisted world for the time it takes to read the book. The plot thickens in the second book, as Avalon finds out more about who set her up, but the mysteries just keep piling up. There are definitely some dark themes in this series, and if violence isn’t your thing, you may want to pass. But if you enjoy a dark, twisted story that will keep you guessing throughout while also bringing a ton of heat to the party, grab this one today!

Tempt by Ainsley Booth
Sam and Hazel’s story is a whole lot of buildup with an explosive climax that takes an unexpected kinky turn. They were in each others lives once upon a time and cross paths again around the holidays. Their connection sizzles and leads to some of the longest foreplay I have read. If a book could give you “blue balls”, this one is it! 🤣🤣 But once they get going, they cannot stop and their attraction for one another begins tip toing down a kinky path which I LOVED. I had no idea Hazel had it in her! They dabble in fantasies, exploration and just ENJOY being with one another sexually. I really loved their connection and will be diving into Grace and Luke’s book next!

The New Hire by A.W. Scott
This was such a great fast read. Like a sexy little palate cleanse in between two delicious meals. Miguel and Aiden have an explosive night together and quickly find out they have more in common than just their attraction to each other. The plot is super simple and sweet, showing in a short time how much of an impact Aiden has on Miguel. Their interactions are satisfying – in every way 🔥🔥🔥 – and I would love a longer book showing where their relationship goes!

The Quiet House by Lily Morton
This is the second book in Lily Morton’s Black and Blue series. The story is a take on a good old-fashioned gothic novel. It has everything! A mysterious house on an English moor, the return of a long lost parent, mournful female ghosts and spirits set on revenge. The tension and feeling of dread come off the page in waves and I was on pins and needles the entire time. The horror elements are strong but the love story between Levi and Blue does not suffer at all! This is one that will be joining my Halloween reading list.

Inevitable by Briar Prescott
I do not read a lot of MM books but the synopsis of this MMM story really caught my eye. I enjoy a love triangle, especially a full on ménage but, once I got into it, I was actually pleasantly surprised that the plot wasn’t ONLY that. Drew, Ezra and Bas are a love story of their own kind. There are layers upon layers of complicated heart break, intense longing, vulnerability, angst, romance and friendship, passion and SO much more. Briar Prescott packed a serious punch with this one. I absolutely adored the characters. They are each unique and with their own flaws. There are subtle, quiet moments in this book that will leave your heart full of so much joy. They are written seamlessly into the story and I found myself flipping the pages feverishly just to get to the next encounter and interaction. Is it possible for three people to be perfect for one another? Swoon…

The Jock by Tal Bauer
Tal Bauer is the master of the sexy, political thriller. Normally his books feature spies, intrigue, and threats of global destruction. The Jock abandons all that for the high pressure world of Texas college football. Wes is the captain of the football team and a leading Heisman contender. He has spent his life counting on football to free him from the hard ranching life his father lives. But now he is in love. With Justin, a man. And he doesn’t know what to do about it. The story has a warm glow over it with very sweet and very hot sex. But you can feel the tension building. Will he be found out? Will he lose everything? This book made me nostalgic for my college days and I didn’t want it to end.

Sinful Deeds by Kris Anne Dean
I am blown away by this new MC series by Kris Anne Dean. I have read the MC genre for a very long time so to be as captivated by this book as I am really took me by surprise. The Krymson Destroyers MC are full of hot alphas and Chainz, the president, is as hot as they come. I loved everything about him from his ego driven attitude to his softer more lust-filled side that we only really see with Raven. The two of them collide in such a way that will leave your head spinning. Chainz quickly puts her well being even before his own and I fell head over heels for the way they interact. Along with all the hot (and I do mean HOT) moments between Chainz and Raven there is a very suspenseful tone to this story and I really loved how seamlessly it all flowed together. I honestly could not get enough of their story. I devoured this book is one night. Cannot wait to see what else this MC series has in store for me!

Not Pretending Anymore by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward
Another winner from the best writing duo in the biz. Not Pretending Anymore is a sweet and swoony slow burn with characters you’ll absolutely love. Declan is so charming and I can see why Molly couldn’t resist him. There’s a bit of a love triangle as Molly and Declan’s plan to make their crushes jealous plays out, and I actually really liked Will for Molly, but true love always wins! This slow-burn, friends-to-lovers romance is the perfect easy, angst-free beach read.

Captive Bride by Alta Hensley
If you love dark, twisted “romance” and you have yet to read an Alta Hensley book, you are seriously missing out. Her books take disturbing to a whole new level and they make your mind go places you did not even know are possible. The way she made this book a nightmare AND love story blows my mind. The characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. Poor Ember is brainwashed and unlucky Christopher is torn between his feelings for her and escaping the nightmare he has been trapped in. The unfolding circumstances are horrific and painful to read but the light that sparks between Ember & Christopher somehow eases the reality of their situation. My heart STOPPED at the cliffhanger! I mean… I actually went bug eyed! This trilogy is going to kill me, I just know it!

Raise Hell by Ashley Gee
I would describe this story as dark but in a very realistic way which is disturbing in itself. It shows the sad outcome of boys who think they are untouchable and girls who fall victim to their manipulation and self-serving egos. I absolutely couldn’t put it down, through the good and the bad. Olivia’s character has gone through the worst of the worst and when “she” emerges again, all hell breaks loose. That is until Drake decides the hate he has for her is actually feelings. She tries to be strong. To stick to her plan. But both of them cannot resist the attraction that is there, even if it was born from distain. I am very curious to see where this goes in book 2!

Sugar and Skulls by LM Terry
I took my time reading Sugar and Skulls. It was intense and had quite a few major trigger moments for me so please read the warning before you start. That being said, I really loved this book. Jesse has had a traumatic past and as much as it haunts her, it has pushed her to be the strong, fierce, take-no-shit woman she is turning in to. Dirk plays a very interesting role in her life, even at a young age and to see their dynamic grow the way it does was quiet spectacular. The way LM Terry describes him and his ink had me all hot & bothered. I love me a tatted bad boy! I have to say, each character is well developed and the relationships are truly genuine and realistic. Even with the darker tones of this story, love truly does conquer all.

The Ravenhood Trilogy by Kate Stewart
“Epic” is used way too many times to describe enthusiasm for a book or series we love and want other people to read. But HOLY CRAP, THE RAVENHOOD TRILOGY IS E-P-I-C! This series is the exact reason why we use “epic”; it’s fricking HOT, heart-warming, heart-breaking, and the twisty plot line is all around amazing. I could hardly put it down when I read the three books back-to-back, but at the same time, I didn’t want to pick it up, knowing each page I read would lead to the end that much quicker. The Ravenhood Trilogy is the quintessential example of why we read romance books.

Crossed Fates by Lexi C. Foss and Elle Christensen
Crossed Fates is an exciting story of a couple of alpha wolf shifters who are fated mates, and start out hating each other. Makayla’s sarcasm and wit kept me laughing, and Alaric kept me drooling over his hotness. The supporting characters are masterfully crafted – I feel kind of old in light of my crush on Alaric’s father. The unfolding mystery kept me on the edge of my seat, and the reveal of the big bad guy was one that I never saw coming. The chemistry between Makayla and Alaric is really hot. There’s something about wolves that are fated mates that makes me swoon. It’s so good!!!

Nothing Special VIII: SWAT Ed.: Fox & Bull by AE Via
This is the latest entry in AE Via’s flagship series. Fox is a longstanding member of Atlanta’s SWAT team. Bull was introduced as a supporting character in an earlier installment. The two of them had a chemistry that set the page on fire then and it was just a short meeting. So when it was announced they were getting their own book I was on pins and needles waiting for it. And it does not disappoint. The action and tech wizardry I expect are there but now they are contrasted against a simple hard-working ranching lifestyle. The sex is hot and the romance is so sweet it will make your heart flutter. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see if Fox would choose a simpler life and more importantly would SWAT let him go.

Hard to Lose by K. Bromberg
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I’ve really enjoyed this series and Hard to Lose is definitely my favorite! The premise for the 4th book in the series is a little different from the first three as it’s less about sports and more about a Veteran. I immediately fell in love with Gunner and it’s very clear why Chase fell for him, too. He’s definitely the most swoon-worthy hero I’ve ever read. Like most Bromberg books, Hard to Lose deals with some very real, very heartbreaking issues. But in this case, the heavy stuff only adds to the amazingness and beauty of this love story. Gunner and Chase’s love story is fun, romantic and very, very sexy. Hard to Lose is definitely a must-read!

Break Volume 1 by Lucy Smoke
If you enjoy reverse harem stories, and want a book with very little plot and a ton of smut, you have got to grab Break by Lucy Smoke. This one is not a completely new series, although it was one of Lucy’s earliest projects and, since she has grown as an author, she just rewrote and rereleased it. I see a lot of myself in Jamie, the studious college woman who is just trying to survive her finals. And her hot harem of men, mostly well built football players, are each wonderfully crafted, and provide fulfilment for all different kinds of fantasies. Overall, this is a light, funny story with relatable characters, and would make a great palate cleanser between deeper series. I really enjoyed it!

Paramour of Sin by Lexi C. Foss
Lexi C. Foss’s Dark Provenance world is a dark world full of demonic characters that will steal your heart and make your nether regions flutter. Gwen is a super lovable succubus with a self control problem, and Lord Zebulon and Zane are determined to help her stop accidentally killing men. Their chemistry is super hot, and the mystery they are unraveling was full of twist, turns, and surprises that I never saw coming. I absolutely couldn’t put it down. If you have read Daughter of Death and Son of Chaos, you will see some familiar characters in Paramour, but you do not have to read them to enjoy this one. If you are a fan of dark worlds and sinful behavior, grab this one today!

Queen’s Ransom by Leyla Reyne
I have not read any F/F stories up to this point but this was an excellent way to start! This book is the fourth in the Fog City series and features Helena. She is the kind of character I love reading about. A true Alpha female who has eclipsed her brothers to become The Queen. She leads a family of assassins and maneuvers through the underworld with diplomatic skill, She meets her equal in her brother’s sister-in-law. Celia is the bedrock of her family and wants to be the anchor that Helena needs to rule. The chemistry with these women is off the charts and the sex is pearl-clutching hot! I have been following Helena since the start of the Fog City series and I am so happy she was given a story worthy of her.

Enthralled by Tracie Delaney
I absolutely adore the ROGUES series by Tracie Delaney! These men are just so yummy. Enthralled in the fifth book in the series and tells the story of Elliot and Sage, and you will fall in love with them. Elliot is full of sexual innuendos, and he’s so broken that I just wanted to hug him. Sage comes with her own family issues, and her grit and determination won me over completely. The mystery that brought them together kept me turning pages well into the night. Jump into the world of the ROGUES today, and you will not regret it!

fiftysix by Seven Rue
This was such a 🔥🔥HOT🔥🔥 book! There is a HUGE age gap between Valley & Riggs but, for me, that made this story 10 times hotter. I read the trigger warnings and knew what I was in for and it was everything I imagined and more. Valley’s character was sexy and fun. She did what she needed to do and did it well! Riggs (swoon) – her father’s best friend – ignites something in her and the chase begins. Riggs made me clench my thighs together more times than I can count. He is the epitome of an Alpha male and the fact that he is as dirty and kinky as he is makes me so sad he is a fictional character. Talk about PERFECTION. There were so many sexy moments in this book, I honestly couldn’t stop reading. I blushed. I caught my breath. I gasped. It. Is. So. Hot!!! It will absolutely push boundaries for you so just remember… #respectallkink!

The Dirty Billionaire Trilogy by Meghan March
I know, I know… You’re probably asking me, “Where have you been for the last 5 years, Angie? Holly and Chreighton rocked my world years ago!” Yeah, well, I’m in the process of catching up, and thank you for noticing.
Holly and Crey just rocked my world while I tore through this entire trilogy in just about 72 hours. It doesn’t matter when this series was released; it’s just as perfect now as it was when it was published. This mis-matched couple left me with feels and more feels, turning the pages wanting to know what they were going to do to one another. Sure, this series is a typical romance formula-esque, hot-dominant-billionaire-meets-small-town-hot-girl story, but something about them kept me hooked on their story. If the quotes I grabbed from the 3 books don’t make you swoon, these aren’t the books for you. But if they do, and your stomach butterflies flutter, start reading Dirty Billionaire right now! (Book 1 is free!↗️) -
The Dream Guy Next Door by Lauren Blakely
This is such a fun story with a hilariously sarcastic couple! From sneaking peeks out the window to full-on down and dirty sex with the neighbor, The Dream Guy Next Door brings it all in a book to read when you need a break from seriousness of real life. Both of the main characters are self-assured established 30-something adults, which is a great departure from typical romance stories. I highly recommend this Lauren Blakely rom-com as the perfect summer read or one to curl up with by the fire. Get your sexy on!
-
When You Come Back to Me by Emma Scott
When you read this, and you should, don’t make the mistake I did. I assumed this was a mildly angsty YA story. One where the main characters have typical teenaged conflicts and they are all wrapped up in time for them in time to share a kiss together at Prom. This is so much more! Yes, the majority of the book is set during the character’s senior year of high school but this story deals with themes of losing a parent, how not to separate yourself from a parent’s unfulfilled ambitions, abandonment, and the brutal aftermath of conversion therapy. There are missteps, hurt feelings, false starts, and heartache all over. But I have to admit I am a sucker for well done angst, Something about it makes the eventual Happy Ever After so much sweeter!
