  • In Too Deep by Skye Jordan

I am so excited for this series! Laiyla, KT and Chloe’s friendship promises some amazing, well rounded stories depicting long lost love and a deep, strong friendship. In Too Deep follows Laiyla and her ex Levi. The connection between them is intense and in a split second, the years that have passed since they were last together are a distant memory. Levi’s heart is still hidden behind the walls he put up after Laiyla left him and the journey to reconciliation is filled with tedious, small steps and a whole lot of steamy, passion. The scene on the boat… DAMN! Skye Jordan leaves very little to the imagination and that is just how I like it!

  • Diamond in the Rough by Skye Warren

Man-O-man, Skye Warren is the queen of dark & dirty romance! Hidden Gem (prologue) sets the back story for Holly & Elijah, connecting the two 8 years later in this book. I was not prepared for the amount of action packed into this story. The fact that Holly is kidnapped while looking for her sister in Paris and placed in a cell next to a strange man is only the beginning of the twists and turns this roller coaster ride delivers. Skye writes some of the hottest scenes and the chemistry she created between these two is pure magic. Elijah is sex personified. He is rugged, protective, sweet and a total bad-ass. I swooned hard over him. The cliffhanger killed me but it just makes me want the next part so much more!

  • One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London

I think the majority of women have battled with their self image for most of their lives. Some feel too big. Some feel too small. Some wish they had larger breasts. Some wish they had a smaller butt. Being introduced to Bea felt like a homecoming in so many ways. As a fashion blogger, she is a picture of confidence and fierceness, but still is plagued by those moments of doubt. I felt like she was relatable in every sense of the word. I loved how Kate showed us all the hidden scary parts that we, as women, try to hide. All of the insecurities and ugly thoughts we have about ourselves and the harsh journey of loving who we are as a whole. I mean, yeah, we don’t all experience those moments on a reality TV show but you get the picture! One to Watch somehow manages to capture all of the trials and tribulations of being a “bigger girl” in a “size 0” world and transforms them into small triumphs and victories.

  • The Vows We Break by Serena Akeroyd

I went into this book blind. I’ve never read the authors before and only read the words “a priest who makes sinners pay” before making the decision that this was a must read for me. I am so happy I took the chance. This story was unlike anything I’ve read before. First- there are warnings for a reason – this book is disturbing at times. As I was raised Catholic, the thought of a priest who would break his vows to avenge God in any way is quite taboo, not to mention sinful. I had no idea how sexy that idea could be though! Savio Martin is the epitome of a broken man, trying to run from a traumatic past but he channels that into the only thing he feels can truly redeem him. Andrea is drawn to him, believing she has also been called by God to help his children and in doing so, she becomes infatuated with Savio. The two together are beyond intense. It is hard to tell where insanity begins and ends. What is the purpose of their meeting and actions? The character development is so intricate and detailed. It enables you to see past the label of a priest to the human connection and emotion inside. The blurred lines of lust become just that… blurred. A true testament to great writers.

  • The Rivals by Vi Keeland

This super sexy enemies-to-lovers story might the the best yet from Vi Keeland. I immediately fell in love with the characters, both broken and flawed and each with their own set of baggage, but both very real and loving. The story was fun, romantic and the writing was stellar. I’d call it a modern day Romeo and Juliet with a lot more heat and a much happier ending. Weston’s alpha male tendencies mixed with his romantic side will make you swoon! So good!!

  • Chained by Zara Novak

I am normally not a reader of paranormal romance but as soon as I read the words ” He wants a slave. He wants to punish. He wants me chained.” I knew I had to give it a go! Vincent is not only an alpha vampire, he is also the head of a crime family. He kidnaps Rachel and before she knows it, she becomes his wife and her pleasure slave. The story has its violent moments as there are other crime families involved throughout the book, but Vincent’s lust for Rachel tends to stay the main theme. Her body betrays her when it comes to her needs and it is not long before her and Vincent find themselves enthralled with one another. A little suspense, a lot of heat and one HEA ending.

  • Happily Ever Bitten by Lexi C. Foss and Anna Edwards

Lexi C. Foss and Anna Edwards have created a deeply immersive dark world with fascinating characters, intense intrigue, and super hot chemistry between the hero and heroine in this follow up to Happily Ever Crowned. Grigory is a super hot, drool worthy hero who you will not hesitate to add to your book boyfriend list. Zaya is strong-willed and able to kick serious ass when the occasion calls for it. There are twists and turns in the story that will have you on the edge of your seat, and you will not be able to put this one down! It’s possible to read this one without having read Happily Ever Crowned before, but you will get some backstory about the characters and world if you read that one first.

  • Animal by Ker Dukey

Ker Dukey can do no wrong in my eyes. She is one of my “whatever she writes I will read it” authors and rightfully so! The story of Alec and Drew paints a dirty picture of a violent MC world where loyalty is tested and boundaries are pushed. Drew stole Alec’s heart when they were just kids- “You belong by my side, on the back of my bike, in my bed. We are it for each other—always have been, always will be” – and though their love is tested many times because of the Royal Bastards MC, they find each other in one another’s arms again and again. I really loved the whole world Ker created and the characters. Alec and Drew are a true testament to love knowing no bounds and together they have a connection that is timeless and endless.

  • The Vanity of Roses by Lily White

I usually love every dark book Lily White writes and this one is no different. Callan and Lisbeth are the epitome of love/hate. Growing up in the environment they did and the lives they were forced into lays groundwork for such a volatile dynamic. When they meet later in life, it is very clear that resentment and hate is in abundance -“Have you ever fucked a man who couldn’t stand you?”- but underneath it all there is an insane amount of turmoil stemming from years of innocent feelings and lust. The buildup of chemistry between them is one of the sexiest I have read in a long time and once they give in to their feral needs, it explodes in every sense of the word -“We fought each other while we touched. We released our burdens.” This story is sexual, gritty, violent and brutal in spots but I love a good toxic, impulsive love story!

  • His Toy by Audrey Rush

I really thought this was a interesting take on a D/s relationship. Zaid and Heather play a very unique role in each others lives. Heather is trying to find and save her sister which leads her to be auctioned off in a BDSM club. Zaid buys her and begins training her on what is expected. The chemistry between them is instant and the deeper they go, the harder they fall. I really enjoyed the setup with the twists and unexpected turns.

  • Taken for His Pleasure by Mae Doyle

The title says everything you need to know about this book! Hannah is sold to a Mob crime family and Arlo has his sights on her. After they marry he makes it his job to pleasure her and get her pregnant. He is controlling and possessive and knows exactly what he wants when it comes to his desires and needs. I love the level of heat this story brings – “I want you to look at me while I fuck you, do you understand?” – and the suspense that is mixed in creates a plot that is not only hot but also thrilling!

  • Hard to Handle by K. Bromberg

Hard to Handle is a little hockey, a little second-chance, a little enemies-to-lovers and a lot steamy. Bromberg gives us characters with so much depth that you can’t help but to love them. Their sexual tension and banter were so fun to watch and their chemistry is explosive! This story has angst, heartbreak and a backstory that will bring the tears. I love the premise of this series, a group of sisters who are all sports agents and I can’t wait for the rest of their stories!

  • Enraptured by Tracie Delaney

I’ve read a few of Tracie’s books, and in my opinion, this is her best work yet!!! Enraptured is a wonderful billionaire romance with an adorable single father hero and super sweet heroine. Oliver and Harlowe have a forbidden attraction to each other that is super hot, and Oliver’s relationship with his daughter makes him completely swoon worth. Several moments in this story made my heart flutter a bit (and when you read as many romances as I do, this can become a rare occurrence.) Pick this one up today, and you won’t be sorry!

  • Show Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant

I dove into this book, not reading the others in the series first and fell in love with Mark and Juliette. Their story is passionate and filled with heartache and angst. Seeing two completely different people come together and look past imperfections and flaws was comforting and beautiful. I thought Juliette’s past was traumatic and then you find out about Mark. The fact that they overcame their own obstacles to find one another and happiness proves that even the darkest of times are temporary.

  • His Pet by Audrey Rush

Mara and Nate paint quite a picture of desire in His Pet. I really enjoyed the way the story played out. It was not over saturated with BDSM scenes and hype. There was a nice flow to their dynamic and the way it came to be. I did not read “His Toy” before I read this but now I am dying to know more about Nate so it is next up on my TBR list. Nate and Mara end up teaching one another a lot about their individual needs through play and pain and while their age difference and teacher/student role is somewhat “forbidden”, it did not take away from the overall tone of their relationship. Sometimes taboo aspects can overshadow the story itself but Audrey Rush did a great job of keeping their dynamic front & center.

  • Allison’s Adventures in Underland by C. M. Stunich

This dark retelling of Alice in Wonderland will suck you into a world so full of mind-fucks that it will spit you out on the other side as a changed person. The twists and turns follow the original classic story enough that you may think you know what is going to happen, but then the author will throw in a twist that will shock you. This first book only had a few steamy scenes, as it was busy building up a complex world, but there are indicators that the heroine will end up with a very large reverse harem, so I imagine the heat will build in subsequent books. I am about to go start book 2 right now, because I cannot wait to see the continuation of this journey!

  • Gilded Cage by Zoe Blake

What an intense read! I did not know what to expect opening this book up but I was blown away by the depravity of it. Gilded Cage is the prequel to Ward so I did not feel weird reading this before the first book in the series. I definitely think it sets up this series to be a dark filled fantasy that leaves you feeling all sorts of ways. Will it make you hot? Yes. Will it make you feel dirty? An hour long shower won’t even make you feel clean. Will you feel the need to go to church afterwards? HELL. YES. Richard and Lizzy have a manipulative dynamic. He takes what he wants from her while convincing her she willingly wants to give it. He combines pleasure and pain, psychically and mentally. He pushes her to her limits and makes her beg for more while she wants to be begging for mercy. He loves to bark out orders -” Fuck yourself on my cock” – but manages to still please her while giving into his own carnal desires. Definitely a book to read without stopping from start to finish!

  • Untimely Love by A.R. Simmons

What an amazing debut by A.R. Simmons. Holy wow! This book blew me away. It places the idea of soulmates in a box and wraps it with a beautiful big bow. Alison and Josh have a love that denies the realities of the world. The book has layer upon layer of emotion, trauma, heartbreak and suspense. Somehow, in the middle of all the twists and turns, a love connection happens that proves to stand even the test of the harshest truths. The unique setting that A.R. Simmons creates had me connecting with characters on such a personal level. When Alison hurt, I felt my heart hurting. When she was swooning over the sweetness of Josh,I felt myself getting butterflies. Her poor family has been through so much and to watch her claw her way back to any resemblance of happiness was inspiring. I was left in complete shock towards the end of the book. Even as I type this rec, I cannot believe the turn the book took. Truly, a breath of fresh air when it comes to young romance and creative writing. I was happy it didn’t end on a cliffhanger, but I cannot wait to see where this story goes!

  • Oxygen by Cole Denton

This prologue promises a whole new sexy world at Club Oxygen. Jacob and Elise set the perfect tone for the series and I was completely intrigued with their little world. I am blown away by the heat Cole Denton delivered in this novella and the unique, sexy couple that was created in the first few pages. The cliffhanger didn’t even bother me because I jumped right into Plaything!

  • The Butcher of the Bay by J. Bree

So I am a complete newbie to the Bay and sad I did not find this world sooner. This is the story of the “Butcher” and Odette, one that will stay with me for quite some time. Reading the horrible details about “Odie” went through completely wrecked me. She was taken, beaten, raped and made into a shell of a woman. Johnny “the Butcher” proves to be exactly what his nickname states. He is ruthless and powerful and I could not wait for him to get to Odie. My heart nearly exploded when he finally found her and freed her. I am so happy she let him nurture her back to life. It was a slow road but totally worth every inch. He is so sweet and provides such a safe space for her but never loses his possessive drive towards her and it is captivating and all consuming -“I’ll own every inch of her and she’ll own me too.” This is a deep, emotional, ugly roller-coaster ride but the end result is beautiful.

  • Rules to Ignore by Susan Hawke

This book is one of the best examples of the friends to lovers trope. Davey has been a glittering, snarky presence throughout the series and now it is time for his happily ever after! Instead of taking the easy and expected way out, the author takes the opportunity to make the question everything they thought they knew about themselves and the world around them. And their journey of discovery features some of the hottest love scenes I have read. But will Davey keep his rules or toss them away?

  • Tangled Up In Ice by Charlotte Byrd

This was a delicious, fast paced read filled with tension, suspense and characters with magnetic chemistry. I found myself drawn in to the broken lives of both Harley and Jackson and needing to know much more about how the circumstances of their lives lead them to their current positions. This book kept me turning pages and eager to see how their future would unfold. The next book in the series, Tangled Up In Pain, is already fired up on my Kindle!

  • A Lovely Obsession Duet by CoraLee June

This Duet blew my mind! Hunter and Roe were such a fierce “couple”. Their story is one of immense pleasure and pain. “What a tragic thing, to crave what kills you.” Hunter would devour Roe if he could. He is consumed by his feelings for her. An epic mix of love and hate. Want and regret. The secrets seem endless and the desire is volatile in every sense of the word. There is just no describing how hot things get between these two. I loved all the little details within the plot like the poems and the shift in who plays the stalker and who plays the prey. The backstory gets pretty dark and twisted but the ending is just perfect. This Duet delivers on multiple emotional levels and will leave you in a character hangover because it doesn’t get much better than Hunter and Roe!

  • Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

This book! I’m usually pretty happy when I’m reading books that have a decent plot and a high dose of sex, and this book sucked me in hard from the first paragraph. I was amazed by the depth of this phenomenal story. So many emotions, such a cacophony of sounds and sights and trauma. Fantastic characters, brilliant writing. The scenes in this YA tale may not be as explicit as my normal romance novel tastes, but man are they hot and filled with chemistry. I truly loved this book and can’t wait to read the next in the series. PS – #villainlove

  • Logos and Lattes by Alexandria Sure

If you read Alexandria Sure’s In Pursuit of Charity, and wanted to see where Linc’s happily ever after finally found him, your wait is over. Logos and Lattes is a cute, short novella of what happened to Linc after Alexis left him. Linc is as adorably swoon-worthy as ever, and Paige is a good counterpart for him. Their cast of supporting characters is fun and well developed, and their story is fun to read. There’s no heat in this one, although there are references to sleepovers and pregnancy. Read this one today to complete the story Alexandria started to tell in In Pursuit of Charity!!!

  • Vlad: Son of Sangue by Patricia A Rasey

Patricia Rasey has written a fantastic new Sons of Sangue novel that really knocked my socks off. The story of Vlad, one of the original primordials, has all the elements I love in a great paranormal romance! Vlad and Janelle have super combustible chemistry; from flirty (and sometimes downright aggressive) banter to straight up hot sex… these two keep me turning the pages. The book is part of a series but reads as a great stand alone as well. Take some time and get to know this steamy new twosome.

  • Viper: Sons of Sangue by Patricia A Rasey

I’ve never read a book or series that’s based around an MC. I’m pretty much a lover of hot paranormal characters, and this book did a great job bringing the two elements together. Kane Tepes is one hot-ass alpha vampire who runs his MC with a cool head and cold heart. Cara Brahnam is the local detective investigating the club and the moment the two of them start trading sarcastic barbs, it’s on!

  • Abducted by K.I. Lynn

I read K.I. Lynn because she always delivers a 1-2 punch when it comes to dark romance. I finish her books and feel as though I have been knocked on my ass, in a sex filled daze that leaves me begging for more. Abducted combines sex trafficking and the mafia, creating an underground world filled with ugly actions and gritty, provocative undertones. This is a down and dirty story. It paints some very harsh realities surrounding Ari & Domenico’s “relationship”. If you’ve read K.I. Lynn before, then this should not surprise you. The possessive sex is beyond insane – “Every twitch could be felt, every groan drawing out my orgasm. He kissed and licked the spot where he’d marked me as he regained his breath” -and I loved that it truly came from a place of love. Domenico is a powerful, alpha male and his obsession with Ari – “My name is Domenico, and I’m your new god” – makes her desire for him overwhelming at times. He is ruthless and wild but then again, have you ever met a tamed beast?

  • The Return by Tiffany Reisz

Any time I get to spend in the Original Sinners world makes me giddy. Especially if Kingsley is involved. This novella gives us a further glimpse into the loving but complicated relationship of Søren and King. For once, we get a glimpse of the (almost) vulnerable and (almost) soft side of Søren. The short story is filled with wit, love and the glorious BDSM scenes no one writes like Tiffany Reisz. The Return is the perfect complement to the Chateau.

  • Don’t Cry for Me by Rachel Lacey

I seriously experienced so many feelings while reading this book. Don’t Cry for Me is packed with emotion, lust, passion and struggle. Eve and Josie cross paths and both are changed for the better. Eve had suffered immense loss in her life which has caused her to have her guard up when it comes to love and because of this, she can never fully feel happy. Josie slowly peels those layers away and when she does, it is pure bliss. The buildup is emotionally driven and the fact that feelings are being denied instead of acted upon leads to an explosive climax (no pun intended). I love that Rachel Lacey delivers a story that has depth and engaging narrative as well as insanely intense passion !
